If you’re still reading this – hello! If you’re not, well, then something’s gone wrong. In any case, we’re at the final stretch of the NBA regular season – the garbage time of the season if you will. Somehow this was thought to be the appropriate time for the fantasy basketball playoffs. What if we reverse it and have the playoffs at the start of the season instead? 🤔

Most Favorable Schedules
Philadelphia 76ers – @NOP WAS MIA TOR
If you hadn’t noticed, we’re at the part of the season where complete randoms light it up. Undrafted rookie Justin Edwards just scored 18, 19, 25, and 22 points in consecutive games. Now that’s consistency you can only get off the waiver wire in 64% of Fantrax leagues. Quentin Grimes has been, obviously, one of the best fantasy players over the past couple of weeks but is unlikely to be available on the waivers in any semi-active league.
Toronto Raptors – @WAS @BKN CHA @PHI
The Raptors are fortunate to have a very friendly schedule this week but unfortunate to not really have any fantasy game-changers on the waivers. If you’re looking for 10 points and 5 assists, look at Jamal Shead. He might get an extended look for this final run of the season. It’s all really dependant on who’s resting on what night for Toronto. If the veterans are playing, there aren’t many stats to go around elsewhere, if not, there are some for the rookies like Shead, Colin Castleton, Jamison Battle, and Orlando Robinson.
Milwaukee Bucks – @PHX @DEN NYK ATL
Somewhat surprisingly, the Bucks find themselves with a bit of depth outside of the Big Three. Kyle Kuzma has been acceptable, Kevin Porter Jr. can get hot, and Taurean Prince fills the stat sheet well enough. None of that sounds like high praise but with a soft schedule and in-and-out star players, this group is a solid pick-up for this week.
Houston Rockets – ATL @UTA @PHX
The Rockets play only thrice this week but look at these opponents – that’s about as good as it can get as far as fantasy stat production goes. And that’s why the top seven of their rotation should all be rostered and activated.
Usage Watch
Quentin Grimes of the Philadelphia 76ers is the player with the highest increase in his usage over the past week. He’s gone from 20% to 35%. Wowzers! Nick Richards came second. New Heat Andrew Wiggins was third. Followed by D’Angelo Russell, P.J. Washington, Josh Green, and Kyshawn George.
That concludes this week’s Usage Watch.
