Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Monday, June 29, 2026. MLB Injury Report

Wyatt Langford – OF Texas Rangers

This is Langford’s third injury of the 2026 season, after suffering both a quad injury and a forearm injury earlier this year. It’s an unfortunate development, as the 24-year-old had been heating up as of late, looking every bit the part of a franchise player that the Rangers have always believed him to be. Now, with his absence extending onward for the next little while, the team will be without him, leaving a hole in the offense. The corresponding move saw Evan Carter return, so there will at least be some at-bats for him to try and carve a spot in that lineup with production.

Jac Caglianone – OF Kansas City Royals

Caglianone will be re-evaluated once this disastrous road trip for the Royals is complete. He woke up with this condition, and there hasn’t been any news of it being overly serious as of yet. He missed yesterday’s game with the hope that he can return sooner, rather than later, and get back to his hot-swinging ways.

Mike Trout – OF Los Angeles Angels

It’s good to see Trout make progress, but it’s also important to note that he is still in the beginning stages of his active recovery process. He last played almost two weeks ago, and he’s just now starting to run. He will likely require a rehab assignment as well, whenever that is, before returning to the lineup.

Pittsburgh Pirates – Team Update

The Pirates got two pieces of good news here. First, Oneil Cruz will start his ramp-up, which means that his hand is feeling better. He is more than two weeks into his projected 4-6 week recovery, and if this week’s ramp-up works out well, he could go on a rehab assignment shortly afterward. That said, this ramp-up won’t be quick, as he has a lot of work to do and to show that he can consistently do. As for Spencer Horwitz, a return date seems to be almost ready for him, but it won’t be anytime soon, as the All-Star Game isn’t for another two weeks.

Tyler Soderstrom – OF Sacramento Athletics

Soderstrom was taken out of Saturday’s game and missed Sunday’s. The good news is that he felt a lot better yesterday, leading one to believe his absence might be minimal. This might be one of those times when we find out information for the week just before the team’s first pitch of the week.

Jacob Wilson – SS Sacramento Athletics

The article in question first talked about how Wilson has been feeling better as of late, and how he was available off the bench for Saturday’s game. While he did miss Sunday’s game, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he will be headed to the Injured List, as manager Mark Kotsay expressed his confidence in the opposite happening. Of course, anything can happen, and plans can change, but from this point of view, it looks like he will avoid the Injured List and play this week. In fact, I have him rostered on one team, and he will be in the starting lineup unless we hear otherwise closer to first pitch.

Cincinnati Reds – Team Update

After getting hit by a pitch, Saurez departed early and had X-Rays done. There wasn’t much else said regarding this injury other than that the team will dig deeper into it today and figure out what they’re dealing with. This may be one of those situations where we won’t know his status for the rest of the week, even past the Reds’ first game. The same goes with Elly De La Cruz, who sprained his ankle running out of the batter’s box. He’s already had work done on his injury, though today should reveal more information. All in all, it’s a difficult day if you roster these two Reds because we simply don’t know enough about them. Be prepared with a Plan B.

Boston Red Sox – Team Update

The bad (and quite frankly unsurprising) news here is twofold. First, Roman Anthony, who was also transferred over to the 60-Day Injured List, continues to be shut down from hitting, as he cannot swing a bat. This means that he cannot play until at least July 5, and that honestly feels too soon for what we’ve seen lately. The good news is that there was some video of him playing in the outfield and keeping loose. However, all of that means nothing, pretty much, until he can swing a bat. On the other side, we have nothing new from Garrett Crochet, who continues to be shut down from throwing. He too is on the 60-Day Injured List, and hasn’t pitched since the end of April. There is no end in sight for his return, and honestly, given how much time he has missed, it’s fair to assume that even once he does start throwing, he will need five to six weeks of ramp-up recovery time before returning to the mound. This has been a disastrous season for Boston, with no end in sight.

Yandy Diaz – 1B Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays have already said that he is listed as day-to-day, meaning that this might not be as serious as one would think. The team does have today off, so there’s an extra day of rest built into the schedule for them to play with. This doesn’t sound serious, but more updates should be made available tomorrow.
