Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Friday, July 10, 2026. In today’s edition, we get an update on what lies ahead next week for Aaron Judge, we discover that the Red Sox will be without two of their best players for the next little while, and finally, both the White Sox and Royals will welcome back some offensive help to their respective lineups. You can read about all of that and so much more in today’s MLB Injury Report from Fantrax.
MLB Injury Report
Aaron Judge – OF New York Yankees
Cashman: Judge (rib fracture) to be re-imaged during All-Star break.
Still anticipates his return at some point this season based on original diagnosis.— Pete Caldera (@pcaldera) July 9, 2026
This is good news for both Judge and the Yankees. A reminder that when he first got injured, the 4-6 week timeline was set out for him to get re-imaging done. While this is on the latter side of the timeline, it’s still within the boundaries, and he’s ready to see what’s next. There were some reports of Aaron Boone not necessarily expecting the best news, which could be quite worrisome for fantasy managers. A reminder, too, that there is a chance that he doesn’t play again this season, which would be an unfortunate result. Stay tuned.

Giancarlo Stanton – OF New York Yankees
Giancarlo Stanton's calf injury while running bases was not a setback – it was a completely new strain to the same calf. He has resumed running after PRP injections, according to Brian Cashman.
— Bryan Hoch ⚾️ (@BryanHoch) July 9, 2026
Stanton re-injured his calf with a completely new injury, which makes this development concerning. A reminder that the former All-Star has a massive and extensive injury history, so much so that he couldn’t open a bag of chips in the offseason because of his elbow problems. Still, at the very least, his prior injury is now healed, and he is now concentrating on fixing his new injury. There’s no timeline for a return, but he is running and will likely need a rehab assignment.
Carlos Rodon – SP New York Yankees
Carlos Rodon will play catch today for the first time since landing on the IL with elbow inflammation #yankees
— Meredith Marakovits (@M_Marakovits) July 9, 2026
Playing catch is the first step in a pitcher’s recovery program, and that’s where we are with Rodon, right at the beginning. While it’s a good sign that he’s able to start this journey back, it’s been reported that he isn’t expected back with the Yankees until later in August.
Mark Vientos – 3B New York Mets
Mark Vientos suffered a fracture when he got hit by that pitch, Andy Green said. Will land him on the IL.
— Chelsea Janes (@chelsea_janes) July 9, 2026
Just a brutal beat for Vientos, who looked to be in severe pain after getting hit by this pitch. There is no timeline for a return, but this could be the last time we see him for quite some time in 2026. While he may be fully healed at some point in August or September, he wasn’t really hitting well while up with the Mets. The team may want him to work on his approach at the plate in the minor leagues to finish his season.
Ranger Suarez – SP Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox put Ranger Suarez on the IL with a left groin strain.
So he’ll miss the All-Star Game for the second time in as many career selections, and the Sox need a starter for Saturday (probably Brayan Bello).
Infielder Brett Harris is called up.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) July 9, 2026
This was somewhat surprising, as I really did think he would make it back without needing a trip to the Injured List. At the end of the day, though, this is the safest and most logical choice. He was set to throw a bullpen before tomorrow’s previously scheduled start, and now will concentrate on getting himself better. Saurez did say in another interview that he was hopeful to be ready just after the All-Star Break, but that he wasn’t confident in that actually happening. There should be updates next week.
Willson Contreras – 1B Boston Red Sox
Contreras suspension has been reduced to five games on appeal, starting today.
— Ian Browne (@IanMBrowne) July 9, 2026
The news here isn’t about Contreras’ suspension, but rather his injured foot. He suffered a foot contusion on Wednesday and was set to miss yesterday’s game as a result. It will be interesting to see if he suffers any setbacks with this over the next week or if it truly is just a bruise.
Seiya Suzuki – OF Chicago Cubs
Seiya Suzuki came out of today’s game late after experiencing some cramping in his calf. Neither he nor the Cubs are worried about it.
“I’m going to go eat about 100 bananas,” he said through an interpreter.
— Vinnie Duber (@VinnieDuber) July 9, 2026
Suzuki did hit a home run and collected three hits yesterday, so it’s unclear how hurt he was throughout the game or if the injury happened when he was pulled. Either way, this doesn’t sound too serious, with it looking like the team will take things day by day.
Dillon Dingler – C Detroit Tigers
Dillon Dingler says his hand feels “10x better” than it did yesterday. The All-Star catcher will be day-to-day as they wait for the swelling to go down a bit.
Team is encouraged about a quick return. #DNMW
— Logan Reever (@loganreever) July 9, 2026
There was some concern that Dingler’s foul tip on his hand would have resulted in a fracture or something else. In fact, it was mentioned on the Tigers’ broadcast that he still had the imprint of the baseball lace on his hand, which is an indication of how hard the ball was when it made contact with him. Instead, a day later, he felt much better, leading to some encouraging news. The hope is that he can return at some point this weekend.
Texas Rangers – Team Update
Both #Rangers lefty rehabbers will be in action Sunday: Cody Bradford with Frisco at Corpus Christi (one inning) and Jordan Montgomery (four innings) with Round Rock at Reno.
— Jeff Wilson (@JeffWilsonTXR) July 9, 2026
These are two names to remember in the deepest of leagues and in AL-only leagues. I personally will be bidding on both of them this weekend.
Corey Seager – SS Texas Rangers
Corey Seager took a minute to give an update on his back. He is frustrated, but the injury is not season-ending. He was told he needs 5-7 good days before resuming baseball activities. He's on Day 2.
— Jeff Wilson (@JeffWilsonTXR) July 9, 2026
Seager continues to work on getting himself better. While he doesn’t believe that this back injury is season-ending, it’s hard to believe otherwise, simply because it’s been an issue all season long with multiple setbacks. Time will tell.
Vinnie Pasquantino – 1B Kansas City Royals
#Royals manager Matt Quatraro says 1B Vinnie Pasquantino could return on Friday ahead of the club’s weekend series against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards.
Pasquantino has been sidelined since June 14 with a right hamate fracture.

Be prepared…..for a return at some point before the All-Star Break.
Munetaka Murakami – 3B Chicago White Sox
Murakami officially back on Friday
— Scott Merkin (@scottmerkin) July 9, 2026
Be prepared!
Grayson Rodriguez – SP Los Angeles Angels
Now it’s official. Grayson Rodriguez tomorrow against the Twins. https://t.co/Bl2wAvmWrf
