Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Friday, June 13, 2025. In today’s edition, Kodai Senga suffered a hamstring injury on Thursday, Cole Ragans will get a second opinion on his shoulder, and we finally know the cause of Rafael Devers’ mysterious injury. All of that and so much more in today’s MLB Injury Report from Fantrax.

Kodai Senga – SP New York Mets

Senga was almost immediately placed on the Injured List with a strained hamstring following this play, though the team didn’t provide many other details. He will have an MRI today to determine the severity, but if the timing of this ailment is any indication of what the issue is, then it could be more severe than even we know. The fact that this is a pitcher suffering a hamstring injury is worrisome, in that it’s difficult for them to keep their arm fresh and loose during their time away. Looking at how long both Spencer Strider and Shota Imanaga were and have been away, chances are we won’t see Senga again until after the All-Star Break.
Cole Ragans – SP Kansas City Royals

Yikes, not the best news here at all, as Ragans will be shut down for a while. The team doesn’t think that this will require surgery, but the fact that he won’t throw for a while is an indication that this is a significant injury. A second opinion is usually something that’s reserved for the bigger worries, as teams often reach out to ensure that they’re doing what’s best for the player. With Ragans being a key piece of their rotation, they will definitely want to ensure they don’t overreact to an injury but also don’t let it fester. The next few days will be key for him and the Royals. While it doesn’t appear that surgery is an option, anything is possible.
Tyler O’Neill – OF Baltimore Orioles

O’Neill has an extensive injury history, as he has been placed on the Injured List sixteen times over his career. The ironic part is that this is his first time with left shoulder issues (though he did miss time with a right shoulder impingement in 2022). Going forward, it will be hard to trust him to be a sustainable part of Baltimore’s lineup, regardless of when he comes back. He was signed for a big contract in the offseason, but he will need to prove that he can stay healthy, which is something that he’s only been able to do once.
Rafael Devers – 3B/UT Boston Red Sox
Rafael Devers revealed to the media yesterday that he has been dealing with a groin strain.

The good news here is that Devers’ mystery ailment was not an upper-body one, specifically surrounding the shoulders that were injured last season. That was always the fear (at least of this writer) entering the season. That being said, the hope is that this injury is taken care of and healed, as it’s always peculiar when a player is as cautious and closely knit as Devers was when asked about this injury. It often makes me wonder what else he is not telling people and his team. Still, he has been solid this season and has proved me wrong thus far.
Brandon Woodruff – SP Milwaukee Brewers

— Milwaukee Brewers (@Brewers) June 12, 2025
This designation was not because of a setback, as Woodruff had already been gone from the team for more than 60 days. This was a procedural move to get the rookie Jacob Misiorowski onto the mound and make his Major League debut (which was phenomenal by the way, until….). Back to Woodruff, this doesn’t change his timeline for a return, whenever that may be.
Jacob Misiorowski – SP Milwaukee Brewers

— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) June 13, 2025
This was relatively good news, as Misiorowski said that he was just cramping up during the pitching process, which was better than the believed ankle injury he had. The hope is that after a night’s rest, the adrenaline of his first day, combined with the emotions, will allow him to gain a better perspective on where he stands. That said, the belief is that he avoided anything serious and should be ready to go next time around in the rotation.
Isaac Paredes – 3B Houston Astros
Isaac Paredes has a left hamstring ailment, Joe Espada said. They’ll know more tomorrow.
— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) June 13, 2025
Paredes injured himself while trying beat out a throw to first base. He was seen gingerly leaving the field, while Mauricio Dubon came out to replace him. We should know more today, as it’s unclear if he will need time on the Injured List. Stay tuned.
Brendan Donovan – 2B/OF St. Louis Cardinals
#STLCards manager Oli Marmol said that 2B/LF Brendan Donovan (left big toe sprain) reported feeling better today. He will play catch today and “move around some.” Whether he goes on the 10-day IL will likely be determined by Friday when Donovan is expected to try and take BP.
— John Denton (@JohnDenton555) June 12, 2025
Today will be a big day for Donovan, who continues to slowly progress. Whether or not he heads to the Injured List should be known by today, as it looks like the Cardinals don’t want this to linger and affect their lineup anymore than it has. Stay tuned.
