MLB Injury Report

Junior Caminero – 3B Tampa Bay Rays

With the Rays having very little to play for, the team may use the next week and a half to give some at-bats to players they may need more out of next season. Until we get a report of him returning to the lineup, his spot in the lineup is anything but stabilized.

Xavier Edwards – 2B Miami Marlins

The news regarding Edwards and his injury had been nonexistent this week, and finally, we got some information on his status. With nothing necessarily wrong here long-term, it’s fair to assume that he will either be back in the lineup before the weekend is over or given the rest of the season off while on the Injured List.

Baltimore Orioles – Team Update

For now, it seems like there is very little to worry about regarding Jackson Holliday’s status for the rest of the season. However, if he is out for much longer than this, it’ll be important to keep an eye on what the team is saying. As for Ryan Mountcastle, he returned last night and, barring a setback in-game, he should be given the next week to try and finish off the season the right way.

Colt Keith – 2B Detroit Tigers

From the sounds of things, Keith could miss most of, if not all of, the rest of the season with or without an Injured List designation. Manager A.J. Hinch did say that Keith lobbied to be taken out of the game and was in serious pain. There’s a chance that the imaging will reveal nothing, and he may wake up feeling better today. However, with the team fighting for a playoff spot, they can’t wait around for him to get game-ready, and they may make a decision today regardless.

Will Smith – C Los Angeles Dodgers

What matters most to the Dodgers is Will Smith being healthy for the postseason, so if he needs a little more time to come back, they will be giving it to him. It’s unfortunate for fantasy players down the stretch, but luckily, the catcher position has never been deeper.

Roki Sasaki – SP Los Angeles Dodgers

This was Sasaki’s first relief appearance during this rehab assignment, and he looked the part. There is a possibility that he is used this way in the postseason as well.

Anthony Santander – OF Toronto Blue Jays

It seems like Santander returning to the Blue Jays won’t happen until next week, at the earliest, as he hasn’t yet been tested in the outfield. He will be brought back slowly, simply because a healthy Santander will be an important piece of the puzzle come playoff time.

Corey Seager – SS Texas Rangers

This is very good news, but with just over a week left in the season, time is quickly running out here. His chance to help fantasy players down the stretch is diminishing, with no guarantee that it will even happen.

Isaac Paredes – 3B Houston Astros

This would be an incredible comeback, one for the record books. Paredes was slated to miss the rest of the season and then some, but now it looks like he could be in the lineup as early as tonight. That being said, a gentle reminder that this is the Astros that we are talking about, and nothing that they say regarding injury returns should be written in stone.
