MLB Injury Report – Jazz Goes Quiet

Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Friday, September 18, 2026. This will be the final edition of the report for the 2026 season. I wanted to take a moment to thank anyone who has read what I’ve written this season. I hope that you found this series of articles to be helpful and informative. Let’s do this one more time and get you ready for the final week of the season. The following updates will be regarding players that I know and/or believe have a chance to return this season.

MLB Injury Report

Ceddanne Rafaela – OF Boston Red Sox

This was a big step forward for Rafaela, not for what he did, but because he was at the ballpark in Worcester. Not only did he do some outfield drills, but he was able to hit from the TrakJet machine, giving him some simulated at-bats. The team will likely have him play in a handful of rehab games before making a decision. He is a big part of the team’s success this season, and if they want to advance to and within the playoffs, he will need to be healthy. In a perfect world, they would love for him to return to the team with a handful of games remaining to get his timing back and help the team.

Dansby Swanson – SS Chicago Cubs

This development came as a surprise, with Swanson’s health taking an incredible U-Turn recently. It was mentioned about a week ago that the team had hoped to activate him from the Injured List this weekend, and after a week of progress, nothing has changed. It appears that he will be ready for a chance to finish the season in the Cubs’ lineup and possibly give fantasy baseball managers ten days of health.

Hunter Goodman – C Colorado Rockies

This was the only report stating that Goodman was showing some progress in his health, as news can be sparse when it comes to the Rockies. This feels like a toss-up, as he has missed three of his last four games. But given how he is getting better, I’d say he plays at some point this weekend. If he does not, then the Rockies will probably place him on the Injured List, at which point you can take him out of your lineup for the final week of the season.

Andy Pages – OF Los Angeles Dodgers

Fantastic news. The only issue is that the Dodgers have five games left at home, and if he comes back for the final game, that leaves you with just four games remaining to use him in your lineup. Keep an eye on the news for specific dates, and if he is back sooner, he’s definitely worth adding.

Edwin Diaz – RP Los Angeles Dodgers

Fantasy baseball managers may be forced to drop Diaz, as he likely won’t be getting any save opportunities for the rest of 2026. Chances are they will be giving him time to get his timing and confidence back before the playoffs begin.

Connelly Early – SP Washington Nationals

Early might be a nice addition to your lineup later next week, but keep in mind he might be on a pitch count. The Nationals will be playing out the season, and pushing him too hard could have consequences. Their goal should be to enter the offseason with a completely healthy Early, who is a big piece of their future.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. – OF New York Yankees

This one is tricky. We haven’t had much of any information regarding his updates for over a week. However, sometimes no news is good news. In this regard, keep an eye on how things progress this weekend. If he is back to full baseball activities with no setbacks, then he will likely get activated early next week. The Yankees need him if they want to have any chance in the playoffs. His return before then will only help him and the team get ready for the postseason.

Trey Yesavage – SP Toronto Blue Jays

There isn’t much else to say here, other than BE PREPARED!

Wishing everyone a great final week of the season, with the hope that you had a successful 2026 season in your fantasy leagues. Let’s finish strong and get ready for an even better 2027 season.
