MLB Injury Report
Corbin Carroll – OF Arizona Diamondbacks
Per @Dbacks manager Torey Lovullo, OF Corbin Carroll will get an MRI on his left hand tomorrow in Chicago. Hand is getting better and he was an option to PH yesterday but after the situation with Moreno they want to be extra cautious.
— Steve Gilbert (@SteveGilbertMLB) June 22, 2025
Carroll has missed the last four games after getting hit by a pitch at Toronto on Wednesday. The injury was always believed to be a minor one, requiring rest, so this news comes out of left field, given how confident the team was previously that he would be back. While the abundance of caution is a welcome sight in fantasy, it’s frustrating, given the words they’ve been using to describe the situation, which could have led to fantasy owners making different decisions over the weekend. The hope is that he will return soon enough.
Bryce Harper – 1B Philadelphia Phillies
Bryce Harper says on the ESPN broadcast he took 45 swings today and 45 swings yesterday. He says it would be great if he could come back in the next 10 days but he says it’s early in the process. pic.twitter.com/HhT6WQoFly
— John Clark (@JClarkNBCS) June 23, 2025
This news contradicts what was said by manager John Thompson a day earlier when he was encouraged by the developments and that Harper would travel with the team. Judging by the sounds of it, he won’t return for at least another week, despite the progress of taking swings and throwing. It is unclear whether he has yet regained a full range of motion in his wrist, which would be key to his recovery.
Tyler Glasnow – SP Los Angeles Dodgers
The Day for Tyler Glasnow is over.
2IP 0H 0R 1K 3BB48 pitches and 22 strikes. Glasnow was hitting 96 consistently in the 1st inning, cutter was almost exclusivley above 90, and it held into the 2nd inning.

— Dodgers Daily (@dodger_daily) June 22, 2025
All in all, this looked like a successful outing for Glasnow, who is attempting to make a return after a lengthy absence. Despite the command issues of administering three walks, this should be deemed a positive outing in that he was able to throw 48 pitches with good velocity. He will likely need at least two more outings before a return to the Dodgers is discussed.
Willi Castro – INF Minnesota Twins
Willi Castro is out today with right wrist soreness. DaShawn Keirsey Jr will play left.
— Audra Martin (@Audra_Martin) June 22, 2025
Castro is the latest Twins player to miss time this season due to an injury. It is believed that this will be a multi-game absence, though it’s unclear if that will lead to a trip to the Injured List. That said, he has said that this ailing wrist has lingered since last season, so there is a significant chance that this is more than a day-to-day situation.
Adley Rutschman – C Baltimore Orioles
Adley Rutschman has a mild left oblique strain, and Tony Mansolino said that will likely keep the Orioles catcher out until after the All-Star break
— Andy Kostka (@afkostka) June 22, 2025
Rutschman recently went on the Injured List because of a mild oblique strain. From all indications, this was of the Grade 1 variety, which is the mildest of them all. Still, it’s an injury that can linger and that can also increase in intensity should a player try and return sooner than he should. The Orioles are playing it safe and wise here. As for his replacement, there has been no talk of beginning Samuel Basallo’s clock, so it would appear that Gary Sanchez is the starting catcher in Baltimore.
Jordan Westburg – INF Baltimore Orioles
Jordan Westburg’s left index finger he sprained yesterday is still sore and he can’t fully grip a bat, Mansolino says. Orioles are hopeful he can return to the lineup in the next 2-3 days.
— Matt Weyrich (@ByMattWeyrich) June 22, 2025
Westburg has missed one full game after injuring himself this weekend. While this doesn’t seem serious enough to warrant a trip to the Injured List, it is worth noting that Westburg himself does have an increasing list of injuries over his short career, so there is a chance that this turns into something bigger than it is. Stay tuned.
Tyler O’Neill – OF Baltimore Orioles
Tyler O'Neill is done for the day in his first rehab game in Aberdeen, working his way back from a left shoulder injury
O'Neill went 1-for-3 with an infield single as the DH for the @IronBirds #Birdland #Orioles
— Michael Marcantonini (@MIKEdUpSports) June 22, 2025
This was the first of multiple rehab games for O’Neill, who has been out of action since the middle of May with a shoulder injury that caused a setback during his original start to rehab. It is unclear how many games he will require before returning.
Casey Mize – SP Detroit Tigers
Good news: Casey Mize is not injured. The #Tigers removed him for precautionary reasons due to a cramp, manager A.J. Hinch said. https://t.co/AbVRTWjXO8
— Evan Petzold (@EvanPetzold) June 22, 2025
The updated news was comforting, as it appeared that Mize had ruined his day with a severe injury. Instead, these cramps on a very hot day gave some solace to the fact that he had to leave early. The hope is that he can make his next start.
Nathan Eovaldi – SP Texas Rangers
Bruce Bochy said that Nathan Eovaldi's next start will likely be with the big league club, not on rehab assignment.
It probably won't be in Baltimore, but Friday against Seattle at home sounds reasonable.

Max Scherzer – SP Toronto Blue Jays
Max Scherzer threw between 30-40 pitches in his bullpen Today. Confirmed he'll pitch Wednesday in CLE.
"My stuff is fine," he told me & @shidavidi. "I'm trying everything I can to manage this (thumb) and make sure I can recover…"There's no knowing, just have to get out there"

Shota Imanaga – SP Chicago Cubs
Craig Counsell said Shota Imanaga will make his next start for the big league team after 4.1 scoreless innings in a rehab outing at Triple-A Iowa last night. Imanaga will travel with Cubs to St. Louis next week. @suntimes_sports
