MLB Injury Report

Corbin Carroll – OF Arizona Diamondbacks

This is something to monitor, as Carroll will miss what is hopefully a short amount of time with a hip injury. It could very well just be one of those things that he aggravated while running, and it felt a bit off the day after. It could also be something that he tweaked as a result of not having much of a Spring Training build-up. We don’t know too much, but his returning today would be just as surprising as his missing the entire weekend. It’s an unfortunate development. Stay tuned.

Juan Soto – OF New York Mets

From potentially just missing a day or two to moving to the Injured List, now we have learned that Juan Soto isn’t even close to beginning to run, which is somewhat concerning. The original diagnosis was for him to miss two or three weeks’ worth of action. He is less than a week into this injury, so it’s not overly concerning, but it’s noteworthy that he’s gone from a level of potential return to the complete opposite.

New York Yankees – Team Update

This is great news for both pitchers. With respect to Gerrit Cole, he will face live hitters, which is a significant step forward. Sure, he’s been in games, but having this date on the calendar gives direction to a potential ETA. He may only need one or two live bullpen sessions before embarking on a rehab assignment. As for Carlos Rodon, having him throw 40 pitches is a great sign, given that he’s gone through some discomfort and setbacks in his hamstring. If he feels good after this session, he may be ready for a live bullpen session himself, or, better yet, a rehab assignment.

Kyle Stowers – OF Miami Marlins

Stowers is on his way back and will begin a rehab assignment today. In case you missed it, he’s been taking reps at first base and will likely see playing time there upon his return. That’s great news for fantasy managers, as multi-positional eligibility is like a cheat code to success within the realm of fantasy baseball.

Hunter Goodman – C Colorado Rockies

Goodman was in a considerable amount of pain after taking a fastball to the finger last night. He was sent for X-rays, and they came back negative, so it would appear that he avoided a fracture. We’ll likely get updates later today on how he feels closer to game time.

Brent Rooker – OF Sacramento Athletics

The flank is located around the oblique area, meaning that this could very well be a long-standing injury. If treated like the oblique, it can be tricky to overcome, as any actions that are done too soon or abruptly could trigger a reaggravation or make the issue more severe. Fantasy managers would be wise to find an alternative solution to this problem, as his absence puts a big hole in the lineup. He is undergoing imaging today to determine the severity of the situation.

Cole Ragans – SP Kansas City Royals

Great news, as there was legitimate fear for the worst after seeing Ragans get struck on the hand with a comebacker. It’s unclear if he will get bumped up to a quicker or later game, or maintain his spot in the rotation, given how short his outing was. Regardless, Ragans’ managers can breathe a giant sigh of relief.

Trey Yesavage – SP Toronto Blue Jays

Yesavage is up to 52 pitches and was seemingly able to maintain a reasonable velocity. It’s unclear how many more appearances he will need before getting to make his 2026 debut with the Blue Jays. That said, if there’s a team out there that needs starting pitching, it’s Toronto.

Parker Meadows – OF Detroit Tigers

This was a nasty-looking collision that could have some serious ramifications if the injuries to the head are severe. Seeing anyone carted off is scary, and this was no different. He was officially diagnosed with a concussion after having bled a lot. He was held overnight at a local medical facility for observation.
