Sometimes we forget that players are human beings. They go through trials and tribulations like those who make a living with their 9-to-5 jobs. This is one of those times where we need to remember that they suffer the same way we do and would in these situations. Life comes before fantasy, and the health and well-being of Arraez are incredibly important. He was rushed to a local medical facility and was being examined last night while the Padres game was happening. It was announced that his jaw was cut, and there were worries about said jaw as well as his neck. He posted on Instagram that he went to the hospital and underwent the necessary tests. He plans to rejoin the team today and has said everything will be okay.
Tyler Glasnow – SP Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts said he expects Tyler Glasnow to make his next start on Sunday. #Dodgers

Glasnow left his start early on Sunday, as he was unable to continue due to these cramps. He said that this is something that happens to him every now and then, but the concerning part is that he doesn’t know exactly why. It’s something that took place in 2024, but because it went away, it wasn’t considered serious. His leg just locks up, making it difficult to do much of anything pitching-wise. The team admits that they “dodged a bullet”, as they need his talented arm to eat up some innings for them. It’s unclear if he will make his next start, as he was also quite confident when he got injured last summer. It was then that he missed the rest of the season.
Blake Treinen – RP Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts said MRI on Blake Treinen’s forearm revealed a low grade sprain. Conservative rehab and no surgery needed now.
Roberts said #Dodgers “certainly dodged a bullet.”

The bad news here is that this looks like a long-term injury, aka more than the 15-day minimum. These forearm sprains tend to increase in intensity over time if overused. Luckily for the Dodgers, Evan Phillips is back, and the team stocked up on bullpen arms this offseason.
Josh Lowe – OF Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays Josh Lowe says he took about 20 dry swings yesterday and the oblique feels good. He hopes to hit off a tee next week, but is pleased with his progress.
— Ryan Bass (@Ry_Bass) April 20, 2025
Lowe has missed the entirety of this season, minus two at-bats, and is looking to get back into the Rays lineup. Oblique issues are tricky, as they tend to linger and can recur in the injured area. For now, mind you, it appears that he has cleared the hurdle of pain in the area and will now be able to build himself back up.
Justin Martinez – RP Arizona Diamondbacks
Per Torey Lovullo #Dbacks closer Justin Martinez was not available today due to “fatigue” and heavy workload. Trainers told Lovullo he needed another day off. No testing no imaging
— Jack Sommers (@shoewizard59) April 20, 2025
This could very well be nothing at all, it could be something big, or it could be somewhere in the middle. All we know is that Justin Martinez is fatigued with a heavy workload. He also throws incredibly hard, making this report a bit concerning. Still, for now, we can take the team at their word while we look forward to a new week. While Drey Jameson got the save yesterday, it was in an extra-inning game, so perhaps it wouldn’t have been the team’s first choice. Stay tuned.
Merrill Kelly – SP Arizona Diamondbacks
Merrill Kelly exited today’s game due to right leg cramping.
— Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) April 20, 2025
There were no updates after the game, but the hope is that, because it was a leg injury, Kelly would be ready for his next start. Stay tuned.
Kerry Carpenter – OF Detroit Tigers
Kerry Carpenter left the game with right hamstring soreness. He will undergo tests https://t.co/k6Ln9zrgMO

There was no other news after the game, but the team should be able to give updates on his situation in the coming days. He is one of their best offensive weapons, so a precautionary route would be their best option.
Zach Eflin – SP Baltimore Orioles

— Jacob Calvin Meyer (@jcalvinmeyer) April 20, 2025
Eflin is showing some progression here with his lat, but 120 feet is in the beginning stages of his recovery. He said that he didn’t know if he would need a rehab assignment. These injuries usually require extended absence, so if one were to guess, it would be that he will be away long enough to warrant a rehab assignment.
Francisco Alvarez – C New York Mets
Francisco Alvarez and Jeff McNeil likely will continue their rehab assignment into this week, Carlos Mendoza said. So the Mets probably won’t have them for the Phillies series.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) April 20, 2025
The hope was that Alvarez would return this week, as he had been progressing well in his rehab. It looks like we will have to wait a little longer for him to return, though it remains to be seen if he will be back midweek or after next weekend.
Jeffrey Springs – SP The Athletics
Jeffrey Springs said his hamstring issue felt more like a cramp that began in the second inning and worsened in the third. A's will evaluate him through tomorrow's off-day, but he expects to be ready to go for his next start.
— Martín Gallegos (@MartinJGallegos) April 20, 2025
The good news out of all of this is that Springs did not suffer an upper-body injury. He has had enough of those over the past few years, and health is his number one concern. It would appear that he will be ready to make his next start, despite these hamstring concerns, as he himself called this ailment cramps.
Brayan Bello – SP Boston Red Sox
Alex Cora said it’s likely Brayan Bello is back Tuesday.
