MLB Injury Report
Carlos Correa – 3B/SS Houston Astros
Carlos Correa said he is sprinting at 95% effort, fielding ground balls and has done everything hitting-wise except face live pitching. That is going to happen in Florida, he said. Correa also needs to run the bases and slide.
— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) September 1, 2026
Correa has been cleared to continue to ramp up after an appointment with a team doctor. As such, he will head to Florida to work on the next stage of his progress, which will hopefully get him up to 100% speed while running. If that happens soon, a rehab assignment might follow, leading to him being back for perhaps two weeks of the season. This is a nice surprise given how dire the early reports were.
Adley Rutschman – C Boston Red Sox
Chad Tracy said on WEEI that Adley Rutschman's hyperextended elbow is still an issue and probably will be for the rest of the season.
He is out of the lineup today for a second day in a row, per Tracy.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) September 1, 2026
Rutschman has been and will continue to battle through a hyperextended elbow injury that he suffered on August 24 while swinging a bat (he mentioned this in another Twitter post). With that in mind, one has to wonder if offseason surgery is an option here, or if the sentiment about it lingering is due to the timing of it so late in the season. Either way, this dampens any and all fantasy projections one might have had regarding his output.
Corbin Carroll – OF Arizona Diamondbacks
Low back discomfort for Corbin Carroll per Torey Lovullo
— Jack Sommers (@shoewizard59) September 2, 2026
This would normally be concerning, though Jack Sommers, who does tremendous work with the Diamondbacks, mentioned in separate replies to this post that manager Torey Lovullo said Carroll may have injured himself late in last night’s game and is expected back in the lineup today. The only thing that could stop him is dependent on how he slept on it overnight and how it feels today. That said, it doesn’t look like extensive time off will be warranted here.
Aaron Judge – OF New York Yankees
Aaron Boone said Aaron Judge did hit off the #Yankees' Trajekt machine before the road trip, so he has begun to see velocity. https://t.co/rqCtEYp06Q
— Gary Phillips (@GaryHPhillips) September 1, 2026
Excellent news here, as Judge took a big step forward by swinging at velocity-induced pitches. Should this continue without any setbacks, he might be closer to returning than expected, as the plan was for him to skip a rehab assignment. He did do some light running a few weeks ago, but there haven’t been reports of him sprinting on the basepaths. That being said, that is usually done before taking swings at fast pitches, so chances are he’s cleared that. Either way, things are looking good.
George Lombard Jr. – SS New York Yankees
Aaron Boone tells us George Lombard Jr. will not be in the lineup tonight but he ran and took ground balls yesterday. Boone does not anticipate an IL stint, but wouldn't rule it out pic.twitter.com/MrOfNNpEKe
— Talkin' Yanks (@TalkinYanks) September 1, 2026
This one is difficult to decipher, as he could very well wind up on the Injured List. However, he’s not shut down and is performing many of the physical characteristics that he should be doing in order to play. My suggestion would be to have him sit on your bench regardless, but not drop him.
Miami Marlins – Team Update
Pete Fairbanks and Anthony Bender doing mound work
Max Meyer still no throw#Marlins
— Christina De Nicola (@CDeNicola13) September 1, 2026
Good news here for both Pete Fairbanks and Anthony Bender. Specifically on Fairbanks, his return to the mound is encouraging, as he could very well return without a rehab assignment. He could also be thrust back into the closer role. As for Max Meyer, he should not be rostered in any redraft leagues anymore simply because he likely won’t pitch again this season.
Trey Yesavage – SP Toronto Blue Jays
John Schneider said Trey Yesavage has been throwing on flat ground and will throw his first bullpen on Friday (roughly 3 weeks following knee surgery 👀)
— Hazel Mae (@thehazelmae) September 1, 2026
It is looking more and more like Yesavage will indeed be able to pitch again before the season is over. That said, there wouldn’t be much time left for him to contribute. Still, with the Jays 2.5 games back of a Wild Card spot, perhaps their sights are set on the postseason, and his availability is more important to them there.
Jameson Taillon – SP Toronto Blue Jays
Jameson Taillon will throw another bullpen in Cleveland. If all goes well look for him to start for #BlueJays Friday in KC

Be prepared!
James Wood – OF Washington Nationals
Assuming he wakes up feeling good, James Wood will be in the Nationals’ lineup tomorrow.
Brad Lord will start tomorrow’s game.
— Mark Zuckerman (@MarkZuckerman) September 2, 2026
Be prepared!
Griffin Jax – SP Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays reinstate OF Victor Mesa Jr. from IL and recall reliever RH Alex Cook to take advantage of Sept. 1 roster expansion from 26 to 28. Would expect Cook to have a short stay as RH Griffin Jax is expected to be reinstated from IL and start as soon as Wednesday.
— Marc Topkin (@TBTimes_Rays) September 1, 2026
Jax is listed as the team’s starter for today as well. Be prepared!
