Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Tuesday, June 3, 2025. In today’s report, the Dodgers get worrisome news on Tyler Glasnow, the Mets might lose their third baseman for the time being, and the Yankees will likely be without Luke Weaver until at least the All-Star Break. All of that and so much more in today’s edition of the MLB Injury Report from Fantrax.
MLB Injury Report
Tyler Glasnow – SP Los Angeles Dodgers

This is an incredibly worrisome development, as Glasnow can’t progress past playing catch, which is usually the first of many steps that pitchers go through when rebuilding their arm. Injured since April 27, Glasnow has been shut down for most of his time away while managing this shoulder issue. Already on the 60-day Injured List, it is very discouraging knowing that he is suffering from whole-body soreness after less than 20 pitches a month after the injury. As Dave Roberts said, his entire status is on pause, which is another way of saying shut down. What makes this even more worrisome is that his pain is not necessarily in the shoulder, but rather somewhere else, labelled as the entire body. There will be more to this story in the coming days, but the red flags that he had associated with him weeks ago just grew in size and stature.
Blake Snell – SP Los Angeles Dodgers
Blake Snell told @THEREAL_DV that the plan to get back on a mound to throw a pen might be next week in San Diego.

Snell is also on the 60-day Injured List, and ever since he’s received a cortisone shot, he seems to be trending back closer to a return. Still, his return feels anything but stable, and the timeline for it feels distant. How his body responds to this bullpen session is a big factor in determining if and when he will return, though it wouldn’t be surprising to see him back after the All-Star Break.
Mookie Betts – INF/OF Los Angeles Dodgers

This is remarkable and fantastic all at the same time. Betts suffered a fractured toe, but he looked swift and mobile in his team’s workouts today. He was available off the bench last night (though he did not enter the game) and is trending toward a return today. Stay tuned.
Marcell Ozuna – OF Atlanta Braves

This news was surprising, in that Ozuna has been a steady presence in the lineup. His slow start seems to be because of this tear in his hip, which seems rather concerning. Given his age and the length of the season, there is a chance that this gets worse and worse before he ultimately requires surgery. A reminder that, as of this writing, I do not have a medical degree, so the result could very well be less impactful than I’m making this out to be. That being said, it’s fair to assume that an operation is on the table at some point.
AJ Smith-Shawver – SP Atlanta Braves

While it’s unclear if Smith-Shawver will undergo Tommy John Surgery, it’s quite clear that he has thrown his last pitch of the 2025 season. The clock to begin his timeline for a return begins later this week, and chances are that we won’t see him again until the start of the 2027 season. He is wished the absolute best for a speedy and healthy recovery.
Mark Vientos – 3B New York Mets
Mark Vientos appeared to have injured himself running out a ground ball in the 10th. He stumbled running down the first-base line and grabbed the back of his right leg, in the area of his hamstring. Vientos did walk off the field under his own power, albeit slowly.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 3, 2025
Vientos didn’t even make it halfway down the first-base line and was out by a country mile. It remains to be seen if a trip to the Injured List is warranted, but it’s looking like that initially. If that is the case, Ronny Mauricio is an option to get the call.
Sean Manaea – SP New York Mets
Sean Manaea threw 29 pitches in his live BP. Depending how he comes out of it, the Mets will decide if he needs another or if he'll begin a rehab assignment
— Laura Albanese (@AlbaneseLaura) June 3, 2025
As Laura stated here, how Manaea feels over the next little while will help determine the next steps. There is a chance that he gets pushed toward making a rehab start, which would help him make his 2025 debut sooner than expected. However, he is still not expected until the end of June or at worst, the beginning of July.
Luke Weaver – RP New York Yankees
New York Yankees closer Luke Weaver is expected be placed on the injured list after injuring his hamstring warming up Sunday night, sources tell ESPN. Weaver underwent an MRI and could miss four to six weeks, though the official timetable will be determined Tuesday.
— Jeff Passan (@JeffPassan) June 3, 2025
From the sounds of things, Weaver has suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain, though we will get the official news later today. That being said, a returning Fernando Cruz immediately vaults up to be the team’s set-up man while Devin Williams gets his job back as the team’s closer. Weaver is worth stashing on the Injured List in most leagues in the hopes of getting saves down the line.
Los Angeles Angels – Team Update
#Angels transactions:
•Recalled OF Matthew Lugo from Triple-A Salt Lake
•Recalled LHP Sam Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City
•Placed RHP Robert Stephenson (right biceps inflammation) on 15-day injured list (retro to May 31)
•Placed INF Yoán Moncada (right knee inflammation)…— Angels PR (@LAAngelsPR) June 2, 2025
Both Robert Stephenson and Yoan Moncada had just returned from the Injured List and will now make their way back there. Due to their extensive injury histories, it wouldn’t be wrong to drop them both in our leagues, but also to ignore them entirely.
Ezequiel Tovar – SS Colorado Rockies
#Rockies Ezequiel Tovar said he felt a pinch on his left side around his rib and was pulled for precautionary reasons. He said he should be good for tomorrow.
— Kevin Henry (@kgh23) June 3, 2025
It’s unclear exactly what it was that he felt, but Tovar himself said that it was a pain in his body that caused an early exit in last night’s game. You gotta love the optimism here, but the safest bet seems to be to give Tovar at least one day off to ensure that nothing gets re-aggravated again, likely making it worse.
