Top 20 Toronto Blue Jays Prospects for Dynasty Leagues

The Blue Jays finished last season sub-500 and fifth in the AL East. With a core of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette in their lineup, Toronto shouldn’t want to wait to bounce back into winning territory. Early on in the offseason they brought in Andrés Giménez via trade and they made it to the top three of the Roki Sasaki sweepstakes. All indications are that they are being aggressive in hopes of putting together a better year in 2025. In this article we’ll look at the top Blue Jays prospects who could be on the way to help out.

Despite the competitive mindset at the big league level, none of Toronto’s top three prospects are in line to contribute in the upcoming season. They may get some help, however. That being said, there are some very fun names at the top of the list, as well as names to monitor as they will have the opportunity to play in both fantasy and real-life lineups. This farm system lacks the flash of others in the AL East, but there should be some steady contributors.

Top 20 Toronto Blue Jays Prospects for Dynasty Leagues

1. SS Arjun Nimmala, Age: 19

When Arjun Nimmala was drafted as the 20th overall pick and debuted on the Complex in 2023, he was just 17 years old. His first full season of pro ball in 2024 ended with him hitting .232 with 16 home runs and nine stolen bases at the Single-A level. There is a lot of swing and miss in his game right now as evidenced by his 31.3 percent strikeout rate, but the tools are extremely loud. Even with those strikeouts, he was worth 121 wRC+ as an 18-year-old at the level. The whiffs add risk, but the payoff is potentially huge. There was a lot of growth evident just over the course of last season. By the end of the year, he was still striking out, but he had a lot more success at the plate. I’ve bought into the big tools, despite the risk. If it all works out, Nimmala represents a shortstop who can help add power to fantasy lineups.

2. LHP Ricky Tiedemann, Age: 22

It was a quick ascension towards the majors for Ricky Tiedemann, who was knocking on Toronto’s doorstep as a 20-year-old in 2023. He was expected to debut with the Blue Jays in 2024 before requiring season-ending Tommy John Surgery in late June, ending his season after 17.1 innings. Even though Tiedemann won’t return until 2026, he’s still a valuable asset in dynasty leagues. For starters, he’s never posted a K/9 in single digits regardless of level or sample size. He’s also on the Blue Jays 40-man roster already. That means when he returns, it shouldn’t be long until he is in the Blue Jays rotation.

3. RHP Trey Yesavage, Age: 21

The Blue Jays selected Trey Yesavage 20th overall in the 2024 draft after an impressive season with East Carolina. He can get into the upper-90’s with his fastball at times with a bevy of offspeed pitches at his disposal. As a first-round college arm, Toronto may choose to move him aggressively once he debuts in 2025. A collapsed ling ultimately kept Yesavage off the field for conference tournament play prior to the draft, which caused him to fall to 20. He should be able to remain a rotation arm long-term.

4. OF Alan Roden, Age: 25

It would seem Alan Roden should get a chance in Toronto early in 2025 after slashing .314/.406/.510  with nine home runs in half a season in Triple-A last year. That includes a walk rate of over 12 percent and a strikeout rate of under 15 percent. The former third-round pick out of Creighton has shown similar plate discipline numbers at every step of the way. It’s a hit-over-power profile that can add some power thanks to his feel for the barrel. Between both levels he played at, Roden is coming off a year where he hit 16 home runs and stole 14 bases. He has a pretty safe floor of contribution for fantasy baseball.

5. SS Josh Kasevich, Age: 23

One thing about Josh Kasevich is that he can hit the baseball. His plus hit-tool has carried him to the doorstep of Toronto. Fangraphs comped Kasevich to a Kevin Newman-type of player, which seems to fit well. He doesn’t have a ton of power, but he gets on base and doesn’t strike out. In 2024 he slashed .296/.348/.385 with six home runs and 13 stolen bases between Double-A and Triple-A. He may never be a fantasy starter, but he has the skills to be a bench bat that can help in case of injury, particularly in deeper leagues.

6. SS Orelvis Martinez, Age: 23

Just a couple of years ago Orelvis Martinez slugged his way onto top 100 lists and was getting ready to make his MLB debut after having Triple-A success in 2024. He went 1-for-3 in his debut then received an 80-game suspension. He did return in 2024, ending the season in Triple-A. Martinez is still on the 40-man roster and should have a crack at Toronto’s lineup at some point in 2025. There is a potential playing time issue with Bo Bichette taking reps at shortstop, plus newly acquired Andrés Giménez as well as Will Wagner and Josh Kasevich also available to take second base reps. However, if Martinez can continue to hit over power and show plate discipline improvements then he will find a spot in the lineup.

7. RHP Jake Bloss, Age: 24

After debuting with Houston to the tune of a 6.94 ERA in 11.2 innings the Astros moved Jake Bloss at the Trade Deadline as part of a package to acquire Yusei Kikuchi from Toronto. After the trade, Bloss threw 27.1 innings in Toronto’s system, posting an 8.23 K/9 and a 6.91 ERA. Outside of those two small samples, Bloss has been fantastic as a professional. He should get another crack at the big leagues early on in 2025. He may not have the stuff to get the kind of whiffs fantasy managers would want, but he has the tools to be a solid starting pitcher at the big-league level and will be able to contribute soon.

8. OF Jonatan Clase, Age: 22

Jonatan Clase debuted in 2024 with both the Mariners and the Blue Jays, combining for a .246/.303/.328 between both teams. During his time in the minors, he posted double-digit walk rates along with double-digit home runs and a lot of stolen bases. That speed is what’s most likely to play at the big league level, and how he’s most likely to help fantasy lineups. He should make the Blue Jays lineup out of camp next season, but he may not have a starting role in the upcoming season.

9. LHP Kendry Rojas, Age: 22

Toronto signed Kendry Rojas in 2020 and he’s since pitched his way to the High-A level in 2024. He threw 55.2 innings at the level with a 2.59 ERA with a 9.91 K/9 and 2.01 BB/9. He mostly works with a fastball and slider that should play against big-league hitters down the road. With his sustained success last season, Rojas should start in Double-A to start 2025 and will be 22 for the entirety of the season. He represents a reliable starting option for the Blue Jays with enough swing and miss to be relevant in fantasy formats.

10. 2B Will Wagner, Age: 26

The son of Billy Wagner, Will Wagner hit .305 with a pair of home runs during a 24-game stint in the majors in 2024. While he’s likely limited to just second base, Wagner can provide some average and OBP help to fantasy lineups and he should have a chance to do it immediately in 2025. His lack of counting stats and the addition of Andrés Giménez hurt his fantasy baseball stock, but he’s still on the 40-man roster and showed success in a decent-sized sample in the big leagues. He’s a real-life contributor whose skills may not translate as well to fantasy lineups, but his proximity keeps him in the top 10 of this list.

11. RHP Landen Maroudis, Age: 20

Things were looking good for Landen Maroudis after being the Blue Jays’ fourth-rounder in 2023. He debuted with Single-A Dunedin in 2024 where he gave up just a single run over his first 10.2 innings while striking out 12 batters before tearing his UCL and going under the knife for Tommy John Surgery. Maurodis works with a fastball that touches the mid-90’s as well as a pair of breaking balls and a changeup. The injury occurred early in the season, so he should return in 2025.

12. LHP Adam Macko, Age: 24

When the Blue Jays traded Teoscar Hernández in November of 2022, Adam Macko was one of the players they got back. He spent most of 2024 in Double-A where he posted a 4.87 ERA with 90 strikeouts in 81.1 innings. As a member of Toronto’s 40-man roster, it seems likely that he will debut at some point in 2025, though Macko threw just three innings in Triple-A, so he may start there.  If he does make it to Toronto this season, he represents a potential streaming option if his strikeouts stay up.

13. 1B/3B Damiano Palmegiani, Age: 24

In terms of aesthetically pleasing swings, Damiano Palmegiani might have one of the prettiest in all of minor league baseball. It’s compact and smooth, and it generates a good amount of power. That is good for fantasy purposes. Palmegiani’s power is what will make him a fantasy-relevant player, but he will have to hit the ball more consistently, however. In 2024 he was worth 82 wRC+ in Triple-A where he slashed .210/.311/.381 with 19 home runs and a 28 percent strikeout rate. Palmegiani should go back to the level to prove he can hit more.

14. 3B Charles McAdoo, Age: 22

In the early part of 2024, it seemed like Charles McAdoo was in the midst of a massive breakout, hitting 14 home runs and stealing 17 bases across two levels in the Pirates organization. He was sent to Toronto in return for Isiah Kiner-Falefa at the trade deadline. Following the trade, he hit .185 with a 30 percent strikeout rate to end the season. In reality, he probably lands somewhere in the middle of that. He’s a fringey hitter with potentially average power. McAdoo will almost certainly return to Double-A to start next season with hopes of better fortunes.

15. RHP Khal Stephen, Age: 22

A former Bulldog, the Blue Jays selected Khal Stephen in the second round out of Mississippi State. He boasts a kitchen sink of pitches that includes a fastball that can touch 96 MPH, as well as a pair of breaking balls and a changeup. If he can continue to show the same feel for each of those offerings that he did in college, he may be able to ascend quickly through the system to fit into a strike-throwing backend rotation profile. That doesn’t come with the biggest fantasy ceiling, however, if he can debut with high whiff numbers that outlook could change in a hurry.

16. LHP Johnny King, Age: 18

In the third round of the 2024 MLB Draft, the Blue Jays selected Florida prep arm Johnny King. The southpaw was only 17 at the time of the draft, so he was very young for the class. He has a starters frame already and can already reach the mid-90s with his fastball. His ceiling is higher than Stephen’s, but the risk is much higher as well. King is set to debut professionally in 2025.

17. RHP Nolan Perry, Age: 21

Nolan Perry made plenty of noise in 2024 as a 20-year-old in Single-A while posting an 11.15 K/9 with a 2.93 ERA through 46 innings. That came with a very high 7.63 BB/9. He’ll have to get the walks in check, but he was able to work around them to not give up a high volume of runs. His strikeout rates are what land him on this list. His slider is good, but his fastball is in the low-90’s. Regardless, if he can keep posting strikeout rates north of 11, then he will be a very relevant prospect, especially in dynasty leagues.

18. SS/3B Eddinson Paulino, Age: 22

It was a down year for Eddinson Paulino, who was able to hit double-digit home runs and steal over 25 bases in both 2022 and 2023. The 2024 season saw Paulino changing organizations as part of the Danny Jansen return from the Red Sox. It’s possible that Paulino’s main fantasy appeal is that he plays a lot of positions. In 2024 he played shortstop the most, but also significant time at third base and second base. He still stole 11 bases between all the teams he played for last season, but his power took a significant dive. Some of the power should return, but it seems like Paulino’s future may be as a utility-type with a little speed and a little power.

19. LHP Brandon Barriera, Age: 20

Since being the 23rd overall pick in 2022, Brandon Barriera has thrown just 42 innings. After arm injuries turned 2023 into a lost season for him, Barriera underwent Tommy John Surgery after only an inning and a third in 2024. At one point, he had a mid-90s fastball with a really nice breaking ball and changeup. All the arm injuries are scary, but he’s only 20. If he can put together a healthy season, we may once again see why he was a first-round pick.

20. OF Victor Arias, Age: 21

A member of the Blue Jays 2019 international free agent class, Victor Arias is coming off a season where he slashed .283/.390/.443 with eight home runs and 18 stolen bases between Single-A and High-A. Arias is Rule 5 eligible but has not been added to Toronto’s 40-man roster yet since he hasn’t played above High-A. He generates some decent power and runs well enough that he might be able to progress into a potential double-digit home run/steal threat if he can get enough playing time.
