To stream or not to stream, that is the question facing most fantasy baseball managers on a weekly basis. It’s always a tough call as easy matchups often make less talented pitchers look like aces. However, there’s an equal risk of immense regret for playing a subpar pitching talent after a blowup outing. Often, there are ways to predict the outcome by examining key indicators, such as park factors and pitching splits. For example, the Rockies make for a prime matchup when they are on the road but a scary matchup when at home in Denver. Also, there are teams like the Rays that can easily flex their lineup to stream same-handed hitters against pitchers on a game-by-game basis. All of these factors get taken into account when determining the start confidence rating for fringe pitchers in the weekly starting pitcher rankings.
