Week 16 waiver wire suggestion, Yeremy Pino really should have scored against Manchester City in a 3-0 loss, but he did score above double digits and should be an option against Leeds this week.
Emile Smith Rowe repaid his manager’s faith with a goal against Wolves in his third straight start. He scored two weeks prior and looks like a potential keeper moving forward, especially with injuries and AFCON.
A yellow card and two goals against kept Joachim Andersen from scoring more than just 3 points. Myles Lewis-Skelly didn’t start but came on in the first half to replace the injured Ben White. He is worth holding as the Gunners deal with backline injuries.
Week 17 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire
Week 17 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Wesley Fofana – Defender – Rostered 50% – Newcastle vs Chelsea
Fofana has above double-digit Fantrax points in his last five starts, helping Chelsea concede just a single goal in those games (against league leaders Arsenal). He does get rotated at times, but the game he missed saw Chelsea lose 3-1 to Leeds. It’s a tough stretch of games for Chelsea, but Fofana should be considered by all managers.
Omar Hutchinson – Forward – Rostered 46% – Fulham vs Nottingham Forest
Besides a poor showing against Everton, Hutchinson has scored double-digit Fantrax points in five of his last six games, and he had two or more shots in three of those games. He’s started three straight, and that should continue to do so. Forest need a win to keep their movement up out of the relegation zone, and Fulham sit just above them but with a fairly porous defense. It seems like he’s due to score, making him a highly sought-after player on the EPL waiver wire.
Jordan Henderson – Midfielder – Rostered 12% – Wolves vs Brentford
Henderson is averaging a consistent six points a game, and he scored his first goal as a Brentford player. He has three assists on the season. Henderson has become the key midfielder for the Bees, although his Fantrax fantasy numbers don’t always show that. He’s often on the ball and being asked to contribute on both ends. Henderson and all Bees become good waiver wire choices as they travel to last place, and Wolves, who have yet to win and have lost nine in a row.
Eddie Nketiah – Forward – Rostered 11% – Leeds vs Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace have been one of the surprise stories of the season and sit in 5th place. They earned that spot mainly with a solid defensive record. They need to find some scoring to maintain this pace, and with Ismaila Sarr out for AFCON. Nketiah could be called upon as that offensive support. He has two goals on the season. It’s a good matchup as they travel to Leeds, who have conceded 30 goals. Palace also has a very good away record with five wins from their eight away games. Fantrax managers should be looking at Palace players on the EPL waiver wire this weekend.
