Week 4 DraftKings NFL Prop Plays: Hampton Should Shine

This isn’t horseshoes or hand grenades, but last week, I sure wished it was. There’s no way to sugarcoat an 0-3 week other than to say we’re going to be better next time. Well, next time is here, and there’s no place to go but up. Ultimately, we finished three Josh Jacobs carries, four Davante Adams receiving yards, and one Bijan Robinson rushing or receiving yard short. It’s time for that bounce-back effort, so let’s dig into our Week 4 NFL Prop Plays on DraftKings.

Week 4 NFL Prop Plays (DraftKings)

Omarion Hampton Over 65.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

With Najee Harris, unfortunately, out for the season, the Los Angeles Chargers’ backfield now truly belongs to Omarion Hampton. After Harris was injured last week, with five minutes left in the first half, the rookie finished with a career day. Granted, it just means that his Week 3 performance was better than the two previous weeks. More importantly, though, it shows that things are moving in the right direction with Hampton.

Watching the dynamic rookie run is sure to generate optimism. Last week, he turned his 19 carries into 70 yards while also playing a role in the receiving game. For this prop, though, we’re just targeting the rushing yards for Hampton at a manageable number of 65.5 yards.

In facing the Giants this week, Hampton is in a favorable start. So far this season, New York is ranked 31st in the league with 153 rushing yards allowed per game. In Week 4, Hampton is in place to take advantage of that, which is why we are targeting him as part of our prop plays.

James Cook Over 75.5 Rushing Yards (-112)

It shouldn’t be a surprise, but the Buffalo Bills are favored by 15.5 points against the New Orleans Saints this week. That means, at best, this game will be competitive for about a half. With that being said, the Bills are going to look to control the tempo of the game, and then ice it and play conservatively in the second half.

This is a situation where game flow plays perfectly into the wheelhouse of James Cook. So far this season, Cook has 284 rushing yards through three games. After 44 rushing yards in Week 1, things have gone a lot better for Cook in the last two games. The season opener against Baltimore was crazy in multiple ways, but most notably, things didn’t look up for Cook to carry the ball more than 13 times.

In the last two weeks, though, the opposite has been true for Cook. He’s registered back-to-back games of at least 100 rushing yards between a blowout victory against the Jets and a closer-than-expected game against the Dolphins. This week should follow a similar flow as the Jets game, which means another big day for Cook. After 132 and 108 rushing yards in the last two weeks, Cook’s 75.5 mark for this week should be easily attainable. I’m certainly looking at that as part of my prop plays.

Elic Ayomanor Over 34.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Considering the Tennessee Titans started the year without many offensive weapons and with a rookie quarterback, it only makes sense that a rookie wide receiver would be ascending. In the case of Elic Ayomanor, that rings true to begin the season.

While Ayomanor only caught two passes for 13 yards in Week 1, I’m not sure that should truly be a warning sign. The rookie was targeted seven times, so we don’t have to worry about involvement in the offense. He was then targeted 11 times in the next two weeks. Ayomanor has caught four passes in each game while eclipsing his yardage prop.

Ayomanor continues to develop chemistry with Ward while finishing with 56 and 38 yards, respectively. As an example of his role and trust, Ayomanor also has a touchdown in each game. Considering his role, the thought process is that this is a low number for the rookie to surpass.
