We’re 101 days from Opening Day, and the 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up series keeps rolling with another young hitter who fits neatly into Philadelphia’s long-term plans. Checking in at #120 is Aroon Escobar, a switch-hitting infielder in the Phillies system whose offensive feel and developing power make him an intriguing name to monitor early. Escobar is still in the formative stages of his pro career, but the combination of bat-to-ball skill, physical projection, and positional versatility gives him a chance to grow into a well-rounded fantasy profile as the Phillies continue shaping their next wave of infield talent.

Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #120 Aroon Escobar
The Phillies have been patient and deliberate with their bats at Jersey Shore, and Aroon Escobar has rewarded that approach by looking the part of a polished 20-year-old at High-A. Nothing about his game screams headline-grabber yet, but the total package keeps adding up. A .270/.361/.774 line with a 121 wRC+ at his age-to-level is the kind of performance that sneaks up on dynasty leagues before it breaks through.
The hit tool is the engine. Escobar’s 98 strikeouts and 56 walks in 538 plate appearances translate to an 18.2% K% and 10.4% BB%, supported by an 11.3% swinging-strike rate that’s comfortably manageable for a 20-year-old in High-A. He spreads the ball around with a balanced batted-ball map (39.1% pull, 26.2% center, 34.7% oppo) and a line-drive rate that pops at 27.1%. That all-fields approach shows a hitter who stays inside the baseball rather than cheating for damage, and it’s a big reason pitchers haven’t been able to beat him consistently in-zone. He’s not a pure bat-control savant, but he looks like a hitter with a plan who adjusts based on what’s offered.

The power is more “there if you want it” than front and center, but it’s growing. Fifteen homers and a .143 ISO play just fine in High-A, especially with a 42.4% ground-ball rate and 30.5% fly-ball rate that suggest there’s loft still to be found. He doesn’t sell out for pull-side lift yet, and that’s part of why the approach works; he cashes in a ton of hard line drives rather than chasing big flies. As he matures physically and leans a tick more into pull-side air, the raw should translate into a bit more game juice. The ingredients point to an everyday 20-plus homer outcome at peak if he trims the grounders and keeps the K% parked around that sub-20% mark.
There’s more than a little value on the bases, too. Twenty-four stolen bases at this stage back up the 55-run grade; it’s not pure burner speed, but it’s enough athleticism and feel to impact a box score when pitchers give him a window. If you’re looking for caution flags, the elevated line-drive rate could normalize, which often dings batting average year over year, and Double-A will test how much chase and in-zone contact really hold when pitchers attack different quadrants. Still, given the age-to-level, the plate skills foundation, and Philly’s track record developing swing decisions, the arrow stays pointed up for a bat now sitting around 120 on my board with room to climb.
Fantasy Outlook
Escobar is the kind of steady-growth profile I like to buy a year early in Dynasty: a 20-year-old at High-A with a sub-20% K%, double-digit walk rate, and enough pop/speed to threaten the coveted 20 HR/15+ SB lane at maturity. In roto, he projects as a category contributor across the board without a glaring hole; in points and OBP formats, the 10.4% walk rate and K/BB around 1.75 should keep his floor sturdy as he climbs. He’s not an immediate-impact name with a 2028 ETA, but that’s your opening, he should be rostered in deeper dynasty pools now, with a reasonable path to Top 100 status once he carries the approach into Double-A and adds a tick more loft.
