2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up Series #147 Connor Prielipp

We’re 140 days out from Opening Day, and while the offseason buzz around signings and staff changes keeps building, my focus stays on the names who could shape the next few seasons in dynasty. Today’s 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up spotlights

Connor Prielipp, a left-hander in the Minnesota Twins organization who currently ranks #147 on my list. Once viewed as a potential first-round steal before injuries slowed his rise, Prielipp is back on the mound, flashing the same sharp slider and advanced command that once made him one of the most polished arms in his draft class.

What?! Your fantasy baseball league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this season? Preposterous! Check out what the Fantrax MLB Commissioner has to offer, and we think you’ll be singing a different tune for the 2026 MLB season.

Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #147 Connor Prielipp

After a long rehab arc and a cautious ramp-up, Connor Prielipp spent his age-24 season carving through the upper minors with exactly the kind of traits that got him drafted: whiffs, weak contact on the ground, and a slider that makes lefties and righties alike look uncomfortable. The ERA reads solid enough, but it’s the underlying swing-and-miss profile and batted-ball control that have him trending toward a 2027 or even 2026 debut in Minnesota.

The headliner here is still the slider, which grades out at a 70. It’s a true bat-misser, and the numbers back it up: a 14.2% swinging-strike rate across 82.2 innings, supporting a 10.67 K/9. When he’s landing that pitch early, the fastball plays up at the top of the zone and he can stretch lineups vertically. The performance indicators paint a better picture than the surface ERA suggests. His 3.54 FIP and 3.55 xFIP were comfortably better than league marks, with a tidy 0.76 HR/9 and a healthy 45.5% ground-ball rate. Even in the hitter-friendly pockets of Triple-A, keeping the ball in the park while missing bats is a real skill.

So why didn’t the ratios fully pop? WHIP. At 1.51, it’s a red flag, and it showed up in traffic-laden innings where the command wobbled. The walk rate wasn’t egregious (3.38 BB/9), but a 24.3% line-drive rate against puts stress on BABIP and strands. That tracks with a pitcher still syncing timing post-injury, occasional shallow misses in the heart get squared, even if the overall contact profile trends grounder-heavy. The good news: FIP/xfIP stability suggests there’s not a home-run shoe waiting to drop, and the K:BB ratio (3.0) gives him a solid floor once the fastball command tightens. Given the innings he finally logged this year and the Twins’ knack for leaning into what a pitcher does best, there’s a believable path to mid-rotation outcomes with the slider as the foundation.

Fantasy Outlook

In dynasty baseball leagues, this is an arrow-up lefty who belongs on the back half of competitive rosters, think top-150 prospect range with SP3/4 upside if the WHIP normalizes. The strikeouts should translate quickly, and the low home-run profile helps protect ratios even on off days.

In a standard 12-team redraft, he’s a watchlist stash for when the call comes, particularly in Points formats where Ks and innings carry the day. In Roto, the WHIP risk is the tax you pay early, so stream the debut starts in friendlier parks and ride the punchouts while you see if the fastball command step shows up. If it does, you’re looking at a useful 2025 contributor with room for more as the workload climbs.
