2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up Series #71 Cooper Ingle

We’re 22 days from Opening Day, and the 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up series features a bat-first catcher climbing toward the majors. Ranked #71 is Cooper Ingle, a disciplined left-handed hitter whose on-base skills and gap power profile well for fantasy purposes. If the power continues to tick up, Ingle could provide rare offensive stability at catcher.

Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #71 Cooper Ingle

Cleveland keeps churning out contact-forward bats who win with approach and stubborn zone control. Cooper Ingle fits that mold to a tee, and he’s doing it at the upper levels. At 23 in Triple-A, he’s putting together the type of season that forces its way onto the 40-man and into a role, even if it isn’t flashy on the surface.

Ingle’s carrying tool is the bat-to-ball and the brain behind it. He’s walked 86 times against 85 strikeouts over 510 plate appearances, and a 5.9% swinging-strike rate at Triple-A backs up the visual of a hitter who lives on-plane and refuses to expand. The OBP speaks for itself at .389, and the difference from league average is meaningful across the board. This isn’t empty patience either. He uses the whole field (31.3% oppo, 45.1% pull) with a high-end 27.1% line-drive rate and enough backspin to produce 36 doubles. It’s a mature, hitter-ish profile that screams “professional at-bat” every time he steps in.

Power is the big question, and the answer looks more “volume-driven” than “impact.” A .159 ISO with 10 home runs is consistent with the eye test: gap power that can punish mistakes, but not a bat built to hunt lift. The batted-ball mix is balanced (37.3% ground balls, 35.5% fly balls), and if he leans a tick more into the pull-side air he can nudge into 12–15 home runs at peak. That’s enough when you’re getting on base at this clip, but without steals (0 SB) he’ll need lineup position and playing time to maximize value. Cleveland’s development group loves this template, and Progressive Field is friendly enough to left-center that the doubles should keep flowing.

Defensively, the bat is the attraction, and where he ultimately lands in the field will shape how quickly he breaks in. The Guardians have been willing to be creative with bat-first profiles, and any path that nets him catcher eligibility would turbocharge the fantasy appeal. Even if it’s more corner/outfield/1B usage, the OBP foundation and all-fields contact give him a high probability of translating to a usable big-league stick. The risk here is straightforward: a power-light profile has a thinner margin if major-league arms challenge him in-zone, but the discipline and swing decisions lessen that cliff.

Fantasy Outlook

In Dynasty and OBP or Points formats, Ingle is the exact kind of undervalued asset I want to stash: plus hit tool, elite swing decisions, and bankable on-base skills that translate to runs and plate-appearance volume. In standard 5×5 AVG leagues, the profile is more format-dependent; think batting average stability with modest pop and no speed, making him a watchlist name unless he lands near the top of a lineup or picks up catcher eligibility. The organization lists a longer ETA, but with a .389 OBP and nearly even BB/K at Triple-A, he has a real chance to accelerate that timeline. If the doubles stick and a few start clearing the wall, we’re looking at a high-floor regular who’s far more valuable in OBP and Points than his raw homer/steal totals suggest.
