You’ve got to make sure you tap in with us every week! We’ve been running hot lately! From Keaton Mitchell a few weeks ago, to Ty Chandler and Rico Dowdle from our Week 10 article to Royce Freeman last week. As we near the end of the fantasy season, our viable RB sleepers and streamers candidates have shrunk from four each week to two this week. These last few weeks are your last chance for depth before the playoffs. Let’s get into our Week 12 running back sleepers and streamers!
Week 12 RB Sleepers and Streamers
RB Sleepers
Samaje Perine, Denver Broncos ~25% owned
Perine has made this list before, but now his role is more defined. He’s exclusively a passing down back. And the way this offense has been, he’s been amassing the majority of his points in the 4th quarter. The Broncos have won five straight games, and it feels like they’ve come from behind in the fourth quarter for all of them. Facing the Browns’ defense this week, I imagine it’s something they’ll need to do again. Perine hasn’t had more than two carries since Week 5, but he hasn’t had fewer than three targets since Week 6. Including 7 targets for 60 yards last week. The Broncos aren’t going to change what has been working for them. Expect the Broncos to be in plenty of passing-down situations vs. the Browns, and Perine to score double-digit fantasy points because of this.
2023 Week 12 RB Streamers
Latavius Murray, Buffalo Bills, ~23% owned
For whatever reason, Leonard Fournette still hasn’t been implemented into the Bills rushing attack. Perhaps it’s because he’s still learning the playbook. Maybe he just hasn’t been good enough in practice. We won’t know the reason, but I do know that until Lenny is on the active roster, Murray is the backup running back on this roster. James Cook has been great these last two weeks, but so has Murray, and he’s getting enough volume to be a solid streaming candidate. In the last two weeks, he’s had three targets, and 19 carries. He’s going to be going up against a stout Philly defense this week. With James Cook often on a short leash, I expect Murray to be used equally often as Cook this week.
