SNF DraftKings DFS Picks
*Disclaimer: These picks have been constructed with the mindset of building a single lineup. When building large field/multi-entry tournaments, if the player sees the field you’ll want to have a piece of him somewhere, my “busts” included.
Captain
Jayden Reed
DraftKings Captain Salary- $11,100
Friday came and went, along with it Jayden Reed’s injury designation. Reed has been bothered by a toe and a chest injury. The chest injury has ailed him for a couple of weeks now, while the toe injury is newer and caused him to miss last week’s win over the Carolina Panthers. The sensational rookie got in limited practices all week and is apparently good to go for tonight’s SNF matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. Christian Watson (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) are both questionable heading into tonight. If both players are inactive then Reed would slot in as the #2 WR across from Romeo Doubs. If this is the case then Reed should operate as the #2 only by name, he’d be the clear favorite to get the most targets. Reed has been balling out. He has now racked up 96.9 DK points over his last 6 appearances.
Core Play
Justin Jefferson
DraftKings Salary- $12,000
The quarterback carousel continues as Jaren Hall will start in place of Nick Mullens on SNF. Hall has made two appearances so far this season. The first came in Week 8 against Green Bay where he completed 3 of 4 passes for 23 yards, rushing twice for -1 yards and a lost fumble. His second appearance one week later saw Hall complete 5 of 6 passes for 78 yards as well as 11 rushing yards on 2 attempts. Super small sample sizes, and to make matters even more complicated, Justin Jefferson was inactive during both of Hall’s cameos. So there is no telling what the connection between Jefferson and Hall will look like. There’s no telling if they’ll be able to connect at all. Alas, we’re going to trust the sheer talent of Jefferson and have faith that he’ll create enough separation that anyone could hit him. Last week Jefferson went for 141 yards catching 6 passes from Nick Mullens. Fingers crossed he can have another productive outing.
Value
Tucker Kraft
DraftKings Salary- $5,800
Remember that little blurb I spat out earlier about how Reed’s usage would go up if Watson and Wicks were unavailable? Well, that sentiment goes double for Tucker Kraft. Kraft has gotten more involved in the past couple of weeks, thanks to injuries to key receivers. Last week with Jayden Reed inactive Kraft was targeted six times. He reeled in 4 of them for 60 yards. The week before Kraft got the same number of targets and put up a very similar stat line (57 receiving yards), except he was able to find the end zone. Kraft will have to overcome a difficult SNF matchup if he is to produce tonight, but at $5,800 he is a great value as he’s almost guaranteed to stay involved tonight, especially if others are inactive.
Sleeper
Anders Carlson
DraftKings Salary- $4,800
Okay, okay. We’re traveling off the beaten path here a little bit. It is not often that I label a kicker, or a defense for that matter, a sleeper. But Anders Carlson has been a big part of what the Packers offense has been able to do recently. Carlson has made at least two field goals in each of his last 8 games. Carlson also has a big leg on him, which he was able to display last week when he nailed a 53-yard field goal. The Packers may be without some of their vital playmakers tonight, which will hopefully give Carlson the chance to cash in on stalled drives. At just $4,800 all Carlson needs is a couple of 40+ yarders to catch fire tonight on Sunday Night Football.
SNF Bust
Jordan Addison
DraftKings Salary- $7,800
I can’t lie, these bust picks have been kicking my ass all year long. But tonight I feel good about this call. Okay, look, we have a rookie WR, Jordan Addison who is coming off of an ankle injury. Addison has only caught one pass from Jaren Hall. That pass happened at the line of scrimmage and went for a whopping zero yards. So far in his short time as an active quarterback Hall has only had positive gains when targeting KJ Osborn, TJ Hockenson, Alexander Mattison, and Johnny Mundt. Justin Jefferson is built differently, so I have faith that he can overcome the lack of chemistry just due to sheer volume. However, I don’t have faith that Addison and Hall will magically have a special connection tonight. Addison left last week’s game with an ankle injury and did not return. He was limited all week long in practice. Vital practices he needed if he was going to get on the same page with Hall. Personally, I’d keep Addison out of my SNF lineups tonight.
