2023 Fantasy Football: Week 18 Tight End Rankings (Weekend Update!)

For most of you, the fantasy football season is over. But for you brave souls who play through Week 18 or if you are turning to DFS, we’ve got you covered. Week 18 is a departure from previous weeks in that motivation is the name of the game. Teams with something to play for will roll out their starters, while teams with nothing to play for could rest their starters. Sure-fire options like Travis Kelce, George Kittle, David Njoku, and Isaiah Likely could sit — or get pulled early — this week. I’ve included all in my early Week 18 tight end rankings. But check back later in the week for my updated rankings, as there will be a lot of changes as the week progresses. Good luck in Week 18!

Tight End Notes

• Dalton Schultz had a forgettable performance against a tough Titans team last week, catching two of four targets for 19 yards. However, he should be able to rebound in Week 18. The Colts have given up the seventh-most receptions and 10th-most receiving yards to tight ends this season. Both teams are vying for a division title, and Schultz should be busy in Week 18. He’s a top-eight option in my Week 18 tight end rankings.
• Dalton Kincaid had one of his better games of the season in Week 17, catching four of seven passes for a season-high 87 yards. The performance was encouraging, given that Kincaid had only seen two targets in each of the previous two weeks. Kincaid should continue to see looks in Week 18. Miami has allowed the 10th-most fantasy points to the position and just coughed up three touchdowns to Baltimore tight ends in Week 17. The Bills need a win this week, and Sunday night’s game is expected to be a barn-burner. Kincaid is a TE1 for me in Week 18.
• Juwan Johnson is coming off his best game of the season, hauling in eight of his 12 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown. He scored in three consecutive weeks, racking up the second-most fantasy points among tight ends in that span. Johnson should continue rolling in Week 18. He faces an Atlanta defense that has allowed the fifth-most receptions and receiving yards to tight ends. They’ve also given up the 13th-most fantasy points to the position. The Saints are playing for the divisional title, and Johnson could play a pivotal role this week. He ranks as the TE11 in my Week 18 tight end rankings.
• Tucker Kraft has been one of the steadier tight ends of late. He has six targets in four of his last five games, averaging 53 yards per game. He’s also been the TE11 in half-PPR formats during that span. Up next, Kraft faces a middling Chicago defense that has allowed the fourth-most receptions to tight ends. Green Bay’s receiving corps is thin, and they need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive. Kraft should soak up the targets in Week 18.
