IDP Stock Market: Week 4

The season is flying by with three weeks already in the books. I am here to help you with your IDP portfolios. Each week I will bring you my IDP Stock Market, recommending the players you should be starting or investing in and which ones you should be sitting or liquidating. Nothing is more important than staying ahead of the market and making the right decisions as you embark on your championship quests. No matter what type of IDP format you play, I am here to guide you. Let’s get right into it with three investments (and a bonus investment) and three liquidations that can help you keep your Week 4 IDP portfolios providing big returns

IDP Stock Market

Investments

Charles Snowden, DE, Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders are without last year’s breakout pass rusher, Malcolm Koonce, who injured his knee just before Week 1. In his absence, second-year youngster Charles Snowden from Virginia has stepped into the open position. After starting the first two games on the road for the Raiders, he came off the bench in Week 3 but the snap count didn’t change and he had his best game (2 tackles, 1 QB hit, & ½ sack). Through three games, Snowden has averaged 27 defensive snaps per game (42%) which is a nice upgrade over the 19 total snaps he played as a rookie. HC Antonio Pierce loves guys that give their all and Snowden has been doing just that. In IDP fantasy it’s hard to find decent options at defensive end (DE), but finding a penny stock with potential growth is a must investment for your IDP portfolios.

Nick Cross, SAF, Indianapolis Colts

My next IDP stock market investment is safety Nick Cross of the Indianapolis Colts. Cross is one of the hottest IDP names on the market right now and has the play to back it up. Cross has set or is close to setting personal best across the board through the first three games of the season. In three starts for the Colts, Cross has played 238 defensive snaps (79 per game/100%) with an NFL-leading 39 total tackles. Cross has had at least 10+ total tackles in all three games and that pace could continue. He’s a low-risk, high-return IDP stock option that should be on all of your IDP portfolios. Go check your waiver wires right now and see if he’s available and if he is, make the investment before it’s too late.

Derrick Hall, DE, Seattle Seahawks

For my final IDP stock market investment for Week 4, I have a second-year pass rusher Derick Hall, who just needed an opportunity. Hall received that opportunity when Seattle traded away Darrell Taylor to the Bears just before Week 1. Through Week 3 Hall has been exceeding expectations with seven QB hits and three sacks. He’s not going to give you a lot of tackle numbers but as long as he can continue to keep the pass rush numbers up, those opportunities will come. Hall has played a total of  116 defensive snaps (59%). He has a bit of a tough matchup this week versus the Lions, but I like his stock to continue to trend up this season. Hall can be found available on a lot of waiver wires making him a great buy-low investment for your IDP portfolios.

Liquidations

Jamin Davis, LB, Washington Commanders

My first IDP stock market liquidation is linebacker Jamin Davis of the Washington Commanders. The fall for Davis has been a quick one as he has gone from 15 starts and 100+ tackles in 2022 to not even being a starter and having only played 22% of the defensive snaps this season. The downward trend of his stock began last year and it has carried over into this season. Maybe you can find another fantasy manager who is in desperate need of linebacking help that you can trade with, if not it’s time to cut your losses and invest elsewhere at the position.

Richie Grant, SAF, Atlanta Falcons

My next IDP stock market liquidation is safety Richie Grant of the Atlanta Falcons. Grant was a favorite of mine coming out of UCF and after back-to-back 100 + tackles seasons it looked like he was a steal. However, the Falcons must not have been sold on him, as they signed free-agent veteran Justin Simmons. With the addition of Simmons, Grant has been nothing more than a backup/special teams option. In three games he’s only played 10 defensive snaps (5%) and 62 special teams snaps (87%). That’s not the type of role you want for players on your fantasy teams. He might be worth a stash in really deep rosters leagues but as of right now, he’s not providing you with any return. Unless Simmons or Jessie Bates were to get injured, there is no value in keeping Grant on your IDP portfolios.

Devin Bush, LB, Cleveland Browns

My final IDP stock market liquidation is linebacker Devin Bush of the Cleveland Browns. Much like Grant above this stock has crashed and left fantasy managers holding the bag. Bush finished 3rd in DROY voting in 2019 but has seen a steady drop ever since. In 2020 he missed all but five games with an injury but saw an encouraging bounce back the next two years. He left Pittsburgh for free agency and it’s been all downhill ever since. I’m not a fan of wasting a roster spot on a player who is in his sixth season and whose fantasy value has crashed. The position is too deep and better players that can help you win now.
