Fantasy Football 2024: Week 5 Wide Receiver Rankings

The steal of the draft looks to be Nico Collins. Collins has been the most consistent fantasy wide receiver this year, so don’t be surprised where I have him when you check out my Week 5 rankings.

On the other hand, it may become a panic mode for the Miami receiver’s fantasy owners. Until the Dolphins figure out their quarterback issue, Tyreek Hill and Jayleen Waddle are both unstartable. But, other options are startable this week. Terry McLaurin, Tee Higgins, and Brian Thomas Jr. all have great matchups this week.

Wide Receiver Notes

  • Ja’Marr Chase is my WR5 this week and has a great matchup at home against the Ravens. Chase is finally starting to produce in fantasy and will control his role this week against the Ravens. Baltimore is currently ranked as the 9th worst fantasy defense against wide receivers. On average they are giving up 30.1 fantasy points per game to wide receivers. I know he will continue his tear this week as in the last two weeks he has three touchdowns combined.
  • Dontayvion Wicks is my WR29 and I believe he is a flex start this week. Wicks had 13 targets last week, while Jayden Reed had 8. It was Reed who still put up more yards and a touchdown. But, Wicks still had two touchdowns. Now that Jordan Love is back, almost every wide receiver is startable, but I like Wicks better than Romeo Doubs while Christian Watson is out. The Packers also have the Rams this week who are giving up 30.9 fantasy points to wide receivers per game.
  • Lastly, I have Michael Pittman Jr. as my WR31. Pittman is a sneaky flex start this week and it all depends if Joe Flacco starts. I know it sounds crazy, but when Flacco came in the last game for an injured Anthony Richardson, Pittman had his first game in which he went over 40 receiving yards. He had 113 yards on six receptions last Sunday. All he was missing was a touchdown.
