There is so much that happens each week in the NFL that could mean missing details you need to know, especially moving forward in your Fantasy Football leagues. We often are so hyper-focused on our Fantasy Football matchups that we miss important information about what happens outside them. That is where I come in. I dig into every team and give you my notes on what happened in a given week that I feel is important to know for Fantasy Football. This means looking at roles, volume, efficiency, production, Fantasy scoring, and other details worth noting. This article series is a great one-stop-shop to read through what happened in the Fantasy Football world, which can give you a true edge in your league. Let’s get into it!
Must Know Fantasy Football Notes from Week 5
Arizona Cardinals
- Kyler Murray threw 19/30 (63.3%) for 195 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Kyler added a season-high 83 rushing yards on just seven carries with a rushing touchdown. 24.1 Fantasy Points is Murray’s second-best Fantasy score (28.54 in Week 2) this season so far.
- James Conner rushed 19 times for 86 yards and caught two passes for 14. Conner scored 14 Fantasy Points and continues to operate as a productive workhorse.
- Michael Wilson caught five of his six targets for 78 yards. Marvin Harrison Jr. caught just two of his seven targets for 36 yards.
- After missing a week, Trey McBride returned to action catching six of his nine targets for 53 yards. McBride scored 11.3 Fantasy Points and led the Cardinals in targets.
Atlanta Falcons
- A massive Kirk Cousins week lifted this Falcons offense through the air. Cousins threw 42/58 (72.4%) for 509 yards, four passing touchdowns, an interception, and 34.36 Fantasy Points. Season-highs across the board there.
- Drake London caught 12 of his 13 targets for 154 yards and a touchdown. 33.4 Fantasy Points. This is the major production from the former first-round draft pick we have all been waiting for.
- Darnell Mooney had a huge game as well, catching nine of his 12 targets for 105 yards and two touchdowns. 31.5 Fantasy Points.
- Kyle Pitts caught seven of his eight targets for 88 yards and scored 15.8 Fantasy Points. HOPE.
- KhaDarel Hodge caught two passes for 67 yards and a touchdown and Ray-Ray McCloud III caught six of nine targets for 66 yards. Product of 58 passing attempts and not much to overhype here between the two.
- Bijan Robinson rushed 12 times for 61 yards and caught three passes for 16 yards. Bijan scored 10.7 Fantasy Points and has scored under 14 now for three straight games.
Baltimore Ravens
- Lamar Jackson threw 26/42 (61.9%) for 348 yards and four passing touchdowns. Season-highs there in passing attempts, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. Jackson also rushed 12 times for 55 yards and scored 33.42 Fantasy Points which was a season-high and the third time he scored over 25 points.
- After two down weeks due to a lack of passing volume, Zay Flowers caught seven of his 12 targets for 111 receiving yards and rushed for nine yards. 19 Fantasy Points is his second-highest score of the year (22.1 in Week 2).
- Derrick Henry rushed 15 times for 92 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. This was the third game in a row Henry averaged six or more yards per carry in games he rushed for over 90 yards. Henry has now rushed for a touchdown in five straight games with six on the year so far. 16.6 Fantasy Points.
- Isaiah Likely caught all three targets with two of them resulting in touchdowns. Likely scored 16.3 Fantasy Points after scoring under five the previous three weeks in a row. Charlie Kolar caught three of his four targets for 64 yards and a touchdown. Mark Andrews caught four of his five targets for 55 yards as the least Fantasy-productive tight end of the three.
- Rashod Bateman caught four of his eight targets for 58 yards and a touchdown. 15.8 Fantasy Points is the second time across the last three games he has scored double-digit points.
Buffalo Bills
- James Cook finished with season-highs in rushing attempts and rushing yards with 20 and 82, and scored. Cook finished with 17.9 Fantasy Points.
- Josh Allen had a rough day, throwing 9/30 (30%) for 131 passing yards and a touchdown. Allen did finish with a season-high 54 rushing yards. 14.64 Fantasy Points is less than half of what he scored in both Week 1 and Week 3.
- Keon Coleman caught just one of his five targets but he took it for a 49-yard score. Season-high 11.9 Fantasy Points.
- Dalton Kincaid earned six targets but caught just two of them for 34 yards. Kincaid has one week with double-digit Fantasy Points (13.1 in Week 3) so far this season
Carolina Panthers
- Chuba Hubbard rushed 13 times for 97 yards and a touchdown and caught four passes for negative yards. Hubbard scored 17.5 Fantasy Points after scoring 22.1 and 27.9 in the two weeks prior. Hubbard has caught at least four passes now for four straight games.
- Andy Dalton threw 18/28 (64.3%) for 136 yards and an interception. Bryce Young ended up getting some playing time and threw 4/7 (57.1%) for 58 yards and rushed for eight yards. What they do moving forward for the quarterback room, I am not sure.
- Jalen Coker was the only pass-catcher to score double-digit Fantasy Points (10.8). Coker caught all four targets for 68 yards. First-round rookie Xavier Legette left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury.
Chicago Bears
- Caleb Williams threw 20/29 (69%) for 304 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and rushed for 34 yards. 23.56 Fantasy Points was a season-high so far for Williams. This was the second time across the last three weeks that Williams has thrown over 300 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
- DJ Moore had his best week of the season, catching five of his eight targets for 105 yards and two scores. DJM finished with 27.5 Fantasy Points, which is a great sign since he has finished three weeks with under 12 Fantasy Points.
- After scoring 29.5 Fantasy Points in Week 4, D’Andre Swift scored 20 points in Week 5. Swift rushed 21 times for 73 yards and a rushing touchdown, and caught two passes for 47 yards. Swift has been extremely productive the last two weeks now after having a rough first three weeks.
- Roschon Johnson rushed 10 times for 25 yards but scored two touchdowns. Roshcon has scored three rushing touchdowns across the last three weeks due to his goal-line usage.
- Rome Odunze earned six targets, Keenan Allen six targets, and Cole Kmet four targets but none scored double-digit Fantasy Points.
Cincinnati Bengals
- Joe Burrow had his best game of the season, throwing 30/39 (76.9%) for 393 passing yards, five touchdowns, and an interception, and it added up to 33.78 Fantasy Points. This is Burrow’s second game this season with over 25 Fantasy Points.
- Ja’Marr Chase had a matchup-winning Fantasy performance with a massive 41.3 Fantasy Points. Chase caught 10 of his 12 targets for 193 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Chase just scored 29.8 Fantasy Points back in Week 3 and is showing to be the Fabtasy difference-maker we expected him to be.
- Tee Higgins was one of my sneaky “Starts of the Week” due to him trending up the last two weeks and he ended up having a huge Week 5. Higgins caught nine of his 14 targets for 83 yards and scored two touchdowns for 29.3 Fantasy Points.
- Chase Brown scored 23.2 Fantasy Points in Week 4 then followed that up with 16.4 in Week 5. Brown rushed 12 times for 46 yards and caught three passes with one of them being for a touchdown. Zack Moss ended up suffering an ankle injury in the fourth quarter.
Cleveland Browns
- Deshaun Watson threw 15/28 (53.6%) for 125 passing yards and a touchdown. That low of production in a great Washington matchup is extremely concerning, and this was Watson’s fifth straight game throwing for under 200 yards. Jameis Winston saw some playing time.
- Jerome Ford finished with 12 touches while D’Onta Foreman finished with 10.
Dallas Cowboys
- Jalen Tolbert caught seven of his 10 targets for 87 yards and a touchdown for 21.7 Fantasy Points. Week 5 was Tolbert’s best week of the season and his third week over 13 Fantasy Points. Waiver wire name to remember.
- Rico Dowdle rushed 20 times for 87 yards and caught two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown. 19.4 Fantasy Points in Week 5 after scoring 13.1 in Week 4 is a positive trend right now. Ezekiel Elliott rushed just six times for 17 yards.
- Dak Prescott threw 29/42 (69%) for 352 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and two interceptions. Dak has scored 16-ish Fantasy Points for two weeks in a row and this was his second game of the season with over 350 passing yards.
- Jake Ferguson caught six of his seven targets for 70 receiving yards. Ferguson has scored double-digit Fantasy Points for three straight weeks after returning from injury as one of the few reliable tight ends.
- CeeDee Lamb caught five of his nine targets for 62 yards. 11.4 Fantasy Points is the second time across the last three weeks he has scored under 12 Fantasy Points.
Denver Broncos
- Season-high 23.14 Fantasy Points for rookie Bo Nix. Nix threw 19/27 (70.4%) for 206 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown. Nix has scored 19+ Fantasy Points now in two of his last three games played.
- Javonte Williams also scored a season-high 16.1 Fantasy Points. Williams rushed 13 times for 61 yards and caught five passes for 50 yards.
- Jaleel McLaughlin rushed six times for 22 yards and caught three passes with one of them being for a touchdown. Season-high 11.5 Fantasy Points.
Green Bay Packers
- After scoring 17.3 Fantasy Points in Week 4, Tucker Kraft scored 24.8 Fantasy Points in Week 5. Kraft caught four passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns on five targets. Huge Fantasy Football implications after these two weeks for the rest of the season.
- Josh Jacobs rushed 19 times for 73 yards and a touchdown and caught a pass for 21 yards. 16.4 Fantasy Points is Jacobs’ season-high so far this season.
- Jordan Love threw 15/26 (57.7%) for 224 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and an interception for 15.96 points. Six touchdowns and four interceptions the last two weeks after returning from injury.

Houston Texans
- CJ Stroud threw 28/38 (73.7%) for 331 passing yards, a touchdown, an interception, and a fumble for 15.94 Fantasy Points.
- Nico Collins caught two passes for 78 yards and a touchdown but exited with a hamstring injury to monitor after playing just nine snaps in Week 5.
- With Joe Mixon out again, Dare Ogunbowale rushed 15 times for 30 yards and caught six passes for 57 yards. Dare finished with four catches for 47 yards and a touchdown the week prior. 15.4 and 14.7 Fantasy Points in the last two weeks. Cam Akers rushed nine times for 42 yards and a touchdown for 12.7 Fantasy Points.
- Stefon Diggs caught six of his eight targets for 82 yards against his former Bills team. 14.2 Fantasy Points comes after scoring over 18 in the previous two games.
Indianapolis Colts
- Joe Flacco stepped in for an injured Anthony Richardson and gave us a performance similar to his Comeback Player of the Year ones from last year. Flacco threw 33/44 (75%) for 359 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and rushed for 22 yards. 26.56 Fantasy Points. A viable streamer if Richardson is out again this coming week.
- Alec Pierce caught three passes for 134 receiving yards and a touchdown. This is the second game this season Pierce has finished with over 120 receiving yards.
- Trey Sermon filled in for an injured Jonathan Taylor and rushed 10 times for 38 yards and a touchdown, and caught six passes for 25 yards.
- Josh Downs caught nine passes for 69 yards on 12 targets. This comes after eight catches for 82 receiving yards game the week prior.
- Michael Pittman Jr. caught five passes for 37 yards and a touchdown on eight targets for 14.7 Fantasy Points. MPJ scored 17.3 Fantasy Points the week prior, so these two games are positive signs after scoring under eight Fantasy Points the opening three weeks in a row.
Jacksonville Jaguars
- Tank Bigsby rushed seven times for 90 yards in Week 4 then followed that up for 13 rushing attempts for 101 yards and two touchdowns in Week 5. This has to mean something. Travis Etienne Jr. rushed six times for 17 yards and caught six passes for 43 yards (12 points). Encouraging is Etienne’s receiving numbers but discouraging is the Bigsby production as of late.
- First-round rookie Brian Thomas Jr. caught five passes for a season-high 122 receiving yards and a touchdown for 23.2 Fantasy Points. This comes after scoring 21.9 Fantasy Points the week prior. BTJ has scored three touchdowns through five weeks so far.
- Trevor Lawrence had his best game of the season throwing 28/34 (82.4%) for 371 passing yards, two touchdowns, an interception, and finishing with 21.24 Fantasy Points. Season-highs all around right there.
- Christian Kirk caught all four targets for 88 yards and scored 12.8 Fantasy Points. Three weeks in a row of scoring 12+ points now. Brenton Strange got the start for an injured Evan Engram and caught all four of his targets for 24 yards and a touchdown.
Los Angeles Rams
- Jordan Whittington caught seven of his 10 targets for 89 yards and scored 15.9 Fantasy Points. Whittington caught six of eight targets the week prior for 62 yards and 12.2 Fantasy Points. Two weeks in a row with that volume and FLEX production with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua out should have waiver wire implications.
- Kyren Williams rushed 22 times for 102 yards and a touchdown for 15.5 Fantasy Points. Blake Corum earned some work rushing five times for 25 yards.
- Tutu Atwell has now scored 12+ Fantasy Points for three weeks in a row. Atwell’s receiving yards during this span, going back, have been 58, 82, and 83 yards. Another FLEX option who is likely on your waiver wire.
Las Vegas Raiders
- Brock Bowers had his best game of the season catching eight of his 12 targets for 97 yards and a touchdown. 23.7 Fantasy Points is a massive difference-making score for the tight end position. I am not sure if there is any player for the position I would want to roster more than Bowers in Dynasty and Redraft Fantasy Football.
- Ameer Abdullah rushed five times for 42 yards, scored a rushing touchdown, and caught three balls for 14.1 Fantasy Points. Alexander Mattison rushed 15 times for 38 yards and caught two passes for 23 yards for 10.1 Fantasy Points.
- Jakobi Meyers caught six of his nine targets for 72 yards (13.2 points). Meyers has been targeted 28 times across the last three weeks which is an important note with Davante Adams looking to get out of Vegas.
- We are unsure if it will be Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell moving forward as the starting quarterback.
Miami Dolphins
- Tyreek Hill caught six of his nine targets for 69 yards. 12.9 Fantasy Points is much better than scoring under nine for the prior three weeks in a row, but it is still not the expectation for Cheetah. Jaylen Waddle scored under nine Fantasy Points for the fourth week in a row. Tua Tagovailoa is greatly missed.
- De’Von Achane suffered a concussion after just four touches in Week 5. Raheem Mostert rushed 19 times for 80 yards and caught two passes for 18 yards. Rookie Jaylen Wright rushed 13 times for 86 yards and will likely be a big waiver wire move for managers this week.
- Jonnu Smith caught five of his eight targets for 62 yards. 11.1 Fantasy Points is the second time this season Smith has scored 11-ish Fantasy Points but he has scored under four in the other three weeks.
Minnesota Vikings
- Justin Jefferson caught six of his 14 targets for 92 yards and scored 15.2 Fantasy Points. Jefferson has now finished with over 80 receiving yards for four straight games and has never scored under 15 Fantasy Points.
- Aaron Jones rushed seven times for 29 yards and caught a pass for 24 yards before leaving the game with a hip injury we need to monitor. CJ Ham rushed for a touchdown but Ty Chandler picked up the RB1 load rushing 14 times for 30 yards and catching two passes for nine.
- Sam Darnold had his worst game of the season throwing 14/31 (45.2%) for 179 yards, an interception, and fumbled. The Vikings still were able to pick up that down game with a 23-17 win to go 5-0.
New England Patriots
- After two down weeks and reports indicating he was losing his starting job, Rhamondre Stevenson had a bounce-back game. Stevenson rushed 12 times for 89 yards and a touchdown then caught four passes for the second week in a row. 19.2 Fantasy Points. Antonio Gibson rushed six times for 52 yards and had one reception.
- Demario Douglas caught six of his nine targets for 59 yards. 11.9 Fantasy Points in Week 5 and 14.8 Fantasy Points in Week 3 show some promise for the sophomore.
- We all are wondering when New England gives the keys to rookie quarterback Drake Maye…
New York Giants
- Darius Slayton played the Malik Nabers role with the rookie out, catching eight of his 11 targets for 122 receiving yards and a touchdown. 26.2 Fantasy Points.
- Wan’Dale Robinson caught six of his nine targets for 36 yards and a touchdown for 16 Fantasy Points. This performance comes after an 18.1 Fantasy Point week, and Wan’Dale has been a solid sleeper for those who threw a dart on him in drafts or picked him up off of waivers.
- Daniel Jones threw 23/34 (67.6%) for 257 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, and rushed for 38 yards. This was the third game this season Dimes threw a pair of touchdowns in, the second in a row he threw for over 250 yards, and the third this season he scored over 18 Fantasy Points (22.08).
- Devin Singletary was out for Week 5, and rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr. stepped in to have a massive week. Tracy rushed 18 times for 129 yards and caught a pass. The former wide receiver turned running back could have earned himself a bigger role moving forward after such a productive day.
New York Jets
- Garrett Wilson finally had a major Fantasy week this year, and it came due to a massive 22 targets. Wilson caught 13 of them for 101 yards and a touchdown for 29.1 Fantasy Points. We hope this is a sign of more to come…
- Aaron Rodgers threw 29/54 (53.7%) for 244 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions. Rodgers suffered a sprained ankle so we should monitor that news.
- Allen Lazard caught four of his 10 targets for 34 yards and a touchdown for 13.4 Fantasy Points. Lazard has now scored four touchdowns this season, been targeted 18 times across the last two weeks, and has four weeks with double-digit Fantasy Points.
- Tyler Conklin caught six of his nine targets for 55 yards. Conklin has earned nine, eight, and six targets across the last three games with two weeks of double-digit Fantasy Points.
Pittsburgh Steelers
- Justin Fields threw 15/27 (55.6%) for 131 passing yards and two touchdowns. Fields also rushed for 27 yards and scored 15.94 Fantasy Points. Fields is likely to keep the job when Russell Wilson returns.
- Najee Harris rushed 14 times for 42 yards and caught two passes for 35 yards.
- Pat Freiermuth scored a touchdown for the second week in a row and Connor Heyward scored as well for the tight end room.
- George Pickens caught just three of his seven targets for 26 yards. A lot of videos indicating he was missing snaps and he got in some trouble on the field.
Seattle Seahawks
- Geno Smith threw 28/40 (70%) for 284 yards and a touchdown. Geno rushed for a season-high 72 yards as well. 22.56 Fantasy Points was a season-high in Week 5 for the veteran.

- Tyler Lockett caught four of his six targets for 75 yards and scored 11-ish Fantasy Points for the second week in a row. DK Metcalf caught four passes on seven targets for 55 yards.
San Francisco 49ers
- Brandon Aiyuk was another player who finally had an expected big Fantasy week. Aiyuk caught eight of his 12 targets for 147 receiving yards. 22.7 Fantasy Points is a relief after Aiyuk has scored under 10 Fantasy Points the previous four weeks in a row.
- George Kittle scored 14.5 Fantasy Points in Week 4 then 20.4 Fantasy Points in Week 5. Kittle caught eight of his 12 targets for 64 yards and scored a touchdown for the third straight game played.
- Brock Purdy threw 19/35 (54.3%) for 244 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Purdy also rushed for 33 yards.
- Jordan Mason finally came down to earth and scored just 8.8 Fantasy Points but he did rush for a still very efficient 89 yards on 14 attempts.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Baker Mayfield threw 19/24 (79.2%) for 180 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and rushed for a season-high 42 yards. Baker scored 23.4 Fantasy Points which makes two weeks in a row with 23+ and three this season hitting that mark.

- Rachaad White finished with 13 touches and Bucky Irving finished with 11. Both scored under 10 Fantasy Points.
Washington Commanders
- Jayden Daniels threw 14/25 (56%) for 238 passing yards, a touchdown, an interception, and rushed for 82 yards. Daniels has thrown for over 230 yards for three straight weeks, rushed for over 80- yards twice now, and has scored 19+ Fantasy Points (19.72) in four of his five games played.
