Week 6 NFL DFS: Money Makers and Heart Breakers

Welcome to Week 6 of Money Makers and Heart Breakers for the 2024 NFL season! Every week I break down the main slate to tell you who get you some money ad who is going to break your heart.

I hope everyone in Florida is making it through this hurricane, ok. I usually like to keep things light and funny but there is just too much wind and water there for me this week.

Here is a brief definition of each of my terms for anyone that might be new.

💰 Money Maker – This player will perform better than expectations

💔 Heart Breaker – This player will perform lower than expectations

 Week 6 Money Makers💰

Quarterbacks

Will Levis

What? Reedy, you are opening the article with Levis? In his last game Levis played he scored .5 fantasy points. So why in the world would I have him as a Money Maker this week? So, hear me out. The Titans play the Colts in Week 6. In the last three games, the Colts have given up over 300 yards and multiple touchdowns in each game. That has been to such luminaries as (clears throat): Caleb Williams in Week 3 (363 yards TD), Justin Fields (312 yards 3 total TDs), and Trevor Lawrence (371 yards 2 TDs). This is a good GPP play for you all this week.

Jordan Love

Jordan Love has multiple touchdowns in the three games he has played this season. The Packers play the Cardinals in Week 6. The Cardinals give up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Quarterbacks have averaged 224 yards and 2 touchdowns per game against the Cardinals. I love Jordan this week.

Kirk Cousins

The Falcons play the Panthers in Week 6. The Panthers give up the sixth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Every single team has passed for multiple touchdowns against the Panthers this season. Every team. Captain Kirk is coming off a 509-yard 4-touchdown game. You might think this is chasing the points, but it isn’t. That was also a great match-up. Cousins is building chemistry with these wide receivers weekly. Cousins to the Moon(ey).

Running Backs

Bijan Robinson

I know Bijan has not been great in some people’s eyes. I want you to understand he has gone up against tremendously tough defenses for 5 straight weeks. That all changes against the Panthers. The Panthers give up the second most fantasy points to opposing teams running backs. Running backs have scored 10 touchdowns against the Panthers so far this season. That is an average of 2 per game. Robinson goes above and Bijan in Week 6.

David Montgomery/Jahmyr Gibbs

The Lions play the Cowboys in Week 6. The Cowboys give up the fifth most fantasy points to running backs. The Lions like to run the football with both Gibbs and Montgomery. Looks for the Lions to run all over the Cowboys. Play Gibbs or Montgomery, heck play them both.

Jahmyr Gibbs

Dare Ogunbowale

You want a daring pick? I’ll give you a Dare pick. Dare Ogunbowale. In the last two games Ogunbowale has totaled 17 carries for 37 yards and 10 receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown. He has scored over 14 fantasy points in both games. This week the Texans will be missing Nico Collins and Joe Mixon (he didn’t practice as of Wednesday). The Texans will need help catching the ball against the Patriots in Week 6. Ogunbowale has done these the past two gam. Dare to play Dare. You read that right.

Wide Receivers

Terry McLaurin

The Commanders play the Ravens in Week 6. The Ravens are a team you can pass the ball on. Wide receivers average 14 receptions, 193 yards, and 1.6 touchdowns a week against the Ravens. Terry has been scary lately with over 100 yards and/or a touchdown in each of the last three games. That will continue in Week 6. Who’s going to stop him? The Ravens? Hardly.

$6,800 on FanDuel

CeeDee Lamb

The Lions give up the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers. The Cowboys play the Lions in Week 6. CeeDee Lamb plays for the Cowboys. This game has the highest over-under on the main slate at 52 points. I like Dak Prescott and Jalen Tolbert too. You can do some nice run-backs with Lions and Cowboys players in this one. Head up, move ‘em out. Play those Cowboys and Lions.

Drake London

We talked about Cousins earlier. London is one of the players Cousins is really building a chemistry with. London has a 25% target share of the Falcons’ passes. He has seen his target number grow each game this season. In Week 6 the Falcons play a Panthers defense that gives up the tenth most fantasy points to wide receivers. Drake is going to put a diss track together in this game for sure.

Tight Ends

Blake Bowers

Tight end is a tough position. Last week I talked about Bowers being a good play against the Broncos. This week is the Steelers. The same reasons; the Steelers defend wide receivers well. Bowers had 12 targets, 8 receptions, 97 yards, and a touchdown in Week 5. HE should see a healthy number of targets again in Week 6. Bowers has a massive 30% target share of Raiders passes this season. Chase the volume.

$6,700 on FanDuel

Trey McBride

The Packers give up the eighth most fantasy points to tight ends. The Cardinals play the Packers in Week 6. In the 4 games he has played McBride boasts 26% target share for the Cardinals. He averages 7.5 targets per game, which is the most on the team. He is the number one option in this pass attack.

Zach Ertz

DEF

Colts

This is more about the opponent being the Titans than the Colts being good. The Titans give up the most fantasy points to opposing teams’ defenses. Yes, I expect Levis to pass for a lot of yards in Week 6. I also expect him to get sacked 4 times and cough up the ball.

$3,100 on DraftKings
$4,000 on FanDuel

Eagles

Do you know who is playing bad? Deshaun Watson is. The Browns allow fantasy defenses to score the third most points against them. Defenses have scored 9 or more fantasy points against the Browns in 4 out of 5 games this season. Look for some sacks and for the Browns to struggle to score more than 15 points.

$3,400 on DraftKings
$4,800 on FanDuel

Steelers

The Steelers play the Raiders in Week 6. The Raiders are making a change at quarterback which may help them some. But the Raiders are not good on offense and the Steelers are good on defense. Look for the Steller to put some sort of a curtain over the Raiders in Week 6.

Week 6 Heart Breakers💔

Quarter Backs

Josh Allen

The Bills play the Jets in Week 6. The Jets are the toughest team in the league. On top of this Allen has been a roller coaster, double digits one week and then crashing to single digits the next. I am not playing him in DFS this week.

Bo Nix

The Broncos play the Chargers in Week 6. The Chargers give up the fourth fewest points to quarterbacks. Nix has been abysmal this season. Bad match-up, bad quarterback, easy no. This is total yuck. I don’t think anyone would even want to watch this game. Where is that vomit emoji, where is it.

Baker Mayfield

The Saints’ defense is actually good against the pass. They give up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Not a single quarterback has scored 15 or more points against the Saints this season. Nothing is cooking for Baker this week.

Running Backs

Alexander Mattison

The Steelers are good at stopping the run. Mattison might get the volume to get you over in redraft if you must play him. This is a must-avoid in DSF. Sometimes the Heart Breakers are simple.

Brian Robinson

You can pass on the Ravens but it is difficult to run on the Ravens. The Ravens give up the fourth-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams running backs. Brian Robinson is a little dinged up on top of the horrible match-up. Look for Daniels to be airing it out in this game.

Chuba Hubbard

Chuba has been awesome since Andy Dalton took over at quarterback. But this week the Panthers are playing the Falcons. Only two running backs have surpassed double-digit fantasy scores against the Falcons defense. Not a single running back has rushed for over 100 yards against this defense. I am so sorry Chuba.

Wide Receivers

Josh Downs

The volume may be there for Downs this week against the Titans. But the Titans give up the fewest fantasy points to wide receivers. Not a single wide receiver has scored double-digit fantasy points or surpassed 70 receiving yards against the Falcons this season.

Ladd McConkey

Chargers play the Broncos. Patrick Surtain plays for the Broncos. Surtain may or may not cover Ladd McConkey. The Chargers also pass the ball the second least amount of times so far this season. There will be no volume, there will only be misery.

Courtland Sutton

You know who else is good at stopping the pass, the Chargers. The Chargers give up the fourth fewest amount of fantasy points to wide receivers. You know how people want to watch a shootout? What is the opposite of a shootout? That will be this game, no one even wants to watch that.

Tight Ends

Mo-Alie Cox

The Titans give up the fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Mo-Alie Cox has only two games on the season where he even has receptions. Sometimes these things just write themselves.

Hunter Henry

You know what, the Texans give up the second-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. The Patriots play the Texans in Week 6. I have hope as a Patriots fan that I am wrong, but Henry is an all-out avoid this week. Drake Maye or may not pass the ball to him this week.
