Three of the four players I selected were great choices as the sleepers and streamers of running backs in Week 6. Austin Ekeler is not elite anymore, but he has scored double-digit points in every game he has played in this season. Chuba Hubbard delivered not a RB1, but a nice RB2 finish as the RB18. Tyrone Tracy Jr. was the best play as he finished as the RB5. In Week 7, there are only two teams with a bye, so a lot of teams might need a big swing from a random running back. With no further ado, here are my favorite running back sleepers and streamers for Week 7.
Week 7 Running Back Sleepers
Austin Ekeler vs. Carolina Panthers
Austin Ekeler has been in double-digits every game as I already stated. The Washington Commanders lost a close game to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6. Look for them to beat up on one of the worst run defenses in all of football in the Carolina Panthers. I expect the Commanders to be all over the Panthers. The run game will be on full display, with Jayden Daniels leading the way. The Panthers are giving up the most fantasy ppg with 33.87 and a league-leading 13 touchdowns to running backs. With that being said, this is a game where Brian Robinson, if he plays along with Austin Ekeler and Jayden Daniels, will all record a touchdown in Week 7, making Ekeler a sneaky play as a sleeper in sleepers and streamers.
Bucky Irving vs. Baltimore Ravens
Bucky Irving is slowly taking Rachaad White’s job. That along with Sean Tucker finishing as the RB1 overall in Week 6, means White’s days are numbered. In Irving’s first career start, he finished as the RB12. Although it was against a weak New Orleans run defense, but Irving’s abilities and efficiency make him almost match-up proof to go along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers high-powered pass offense. Yes, the Ravens have one of the five best defenses in terms of least fantasy ppg allowed to running backs. A shootout is on the horizon in Tampa Bay. The Ravens have a bottom-three pass defense. Irving will have plenty of opportunities as Baker Mayfield slashes the secondary.
Running Back Streamers
Tank Bigsby vs. New England Patriots
To being with, Travis Etienne is slowly losing his job in Jacksonville. Tank Bigsby has outproduced Etienne in nearly every category. Also, Bigsby is averaging THREE yards per carry more than Etienne. With Etienne now hurt due to a hamstring injury, Bigbsy has a chance to take the job for good. In London once again, the Jaguars face the New England Patriots. The Patriots are the sixth-worst team in fantasy against running backs and just gave up 27.2 points to Joe Mixon. No player props have been posted as of yet, but when they do, I am taking Tank Bigsby’s rushing props. My hot take is that Bigsby has another top-five finish just two weeks removed from being the overall RB1. Bigsby is my favorite running back for this week’s edition of sleepers and streamers.
Alexander Mattison @ Los Angeles Rams
Davante Adams is no longer a Raider. Jakobi Meyers is hurt. Zamir White is not good. It is up to Brock Bowers and Alexander Mattison to spark some life into this offense. Mattison finished as the RB16 and caught all five of his passes. With the Raiders losing their top weapon and dealing with injuries, Mattison is an amazing play, especially in PPR leagues. The Raiders are facing the Los Angeles Rams, too. A team that is allowing the eighth most fantasy ppg to running backs. Another top-20 finish is looming for Mattison. Insert him into your lineups if you are not sure about your flex plays in Week 7.
