NFL DFS Late Slate Picks Week 8

This week there are five games for the late slate. I like that as it gives us a lot of options. Well, at least more than the past couple of weeks. And that’s a good thing when it comes to my top Week 8 NFL DFS picks for the late slate.

Week 8 NFL DFS for the Late Slate

Quarterbacks

Josh Allen

Allen is coming off two straight games where he has played amazingly. He has multiple touchdowns in both games and has gone for either 300 yards or 3 touchdowns. The Seahawks are up in Week 8. They have given up multiple touchdowns in three of the last four games. Both teams will probably have to score in this one. Allen sets up as a great play in Week 8.

Geno Smith

On the other side of this Bills/Seahawks game, you have Geno Smith. This is a solid floor play for cash games. Geno has passed for at least one touchdown in every game this season. He is currently the overall QB6 in fantasy. I expect the Seahawks to run a lot on the Bills but need to throw to stay in the game. Geno will pass again and again. YO! Geno!

Caleb Williams

Williams is starting to put it all together. He is coming off a bye week and should be very well prepared. His past two games have been excellent. He has combined for 530 yards and 6 touchdowns passing and rushed for another 90 yards in those two games. The Commanders are up in Week 8. The Commanders have been good against bad quarterbacks and scorched by good ones. Williams is a good one.

Running Backs

Brian Robinson

It looks like Jayden Daniels will be out in Week 8. Robinson has been good this season. When I say good I am probably under-selling him. He has double-digit fantasy scores in every single game he has played this season. The Bears defense he is facing is middle of the pack at defending running backs. With Daniels potentially out you can look for the Commanders to try and get Robinson going in a match-up he can win.

Kareem Hunt

Hunt has over 24 touches in each of the last two games. He also has 200 total yards and 3 touchdowns over that two-game period. In Week 8 the Chiefs play the Raiders. The Raiders give up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing teams running backs. Smash spot for Hunt to keep it rolling. The volume will continue to come and Kareem will be in the Hunt for lots of fantasy points.

Javonte Williams

The Panthers’ defense has been a goldmine for opposing running backs, allowing the most fantasy points to the position this season. In Week 8, the Broncos face Carolina, and Javonte Williams is primed to take advantage. As Denver’s lead back, Williams logged 17 touches for 111 total yards and 2 touchdowns in Week 7. The Panthers’ defense has been consistently weak, allowing 11 different RBs to hit double-digit fantasy points over seven games.

Kenneth Walker

The Seahawks take on the Bills in Week 8, a matchup that’s shaping up nicely for Kenneth Walker. The Bills’ defense is allowing the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs, and Walker has been a consistent producer, scoring double-digit fantasy points in every game this season. Whether it’s on the ground or through the air, expect Walker to rack up points everywhere in Week 8.

JK Dobbins

When facing teams with weak run defenses, J.K. Dobbins has thrived, averaging 20 fantasy points per game. In Week 8, the Chargers match up against the Saints, who struggle to contain running backs, allowing an average of 117 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 40 receiving yards per game to the position. Dobbins is set to be “Charged up” for a big week!

Wide Receivers

DJ Moore

We mentioned Caleb Williams and now let’s look at stacking him with Moore. The Commanders give up the eighth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. Moore has a 25% target share and is clearly the top option in the Bears pass attack. We should be looking at some volume in a nice matchup this week. Moore, Moore, Moore, How do you like it? How do you like it?

Tony Franklin

In Week 7 Franklin led the Broncos in targets with 6. That was a 23% target share. He is also second on the team in wide receiver snaps behind Sutton. The Carolina Panthers are up in Week 8. They are not great at defending anything. This looks like a nice spot to play Franklin as he has been starting to come on the past two games. He has 7 receptions, 81 yards, and a touchdown over that two-game span.

Amari Cooper

In his first game wearing a Bills uniform, Cooper saw 5 targets which he turned into 4 receptions, 66 yards, and a touchdown. He will have another week of practice with his new team this week. You can look for Allen to keep Cooper involved and this opens things up for everyone else in the passing game for the Bills.

Tyler Lockett

The Bills are very good at defending the pass and defending wide receivers. Yet some wide receivers have had some big games against the Bills defense. If DK Metcalf is out or not 100%, it appears he may not be close to 100% right now. Lockett becomes a sneaky play this week against the Bills. Everyone else will lean into Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Lock it in on Tyler Lockett in Week 8.

Tight Ends

Brock Bowers

Bowers has been on fire with three consecutive weeks of double-digit fantasy points and is firmly established as the Raiders’ top receiving option. This week, he faces a Chiefs defense that allows the most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. With consistent volume and production, Bowers—currently the TE2 in fantasy—has a real shot at making a push for the top spot this week.

Cole Kmet

Kmet has cemented his position as the second option in the Bears pass attack. He has a 16% target share but does quite a bit with this. The Commanders who are up in Week 8 actually defend the tight end relatively well. The volume of five to eight targets should be there for Kmet this week.

DEF

Broncos

The Broncos face the Panthers in Week 8, with Bryce Young leading Carolina’s offense. Denver’s defense has been rock-solid, and Young has struggled to find consistency. This sets up a favorable matchup for the Broncos D/ST in DFS, where they could rack up sacks and turnovers. Starting them this week could pay off big!
