Week 14 NFL DFS: Money Makers and Heart Breakers

I hope everyone enjoyed the excitement of Black Friday and Cyber Monday! As we dive into Week 14 of the NFL season, I’m reminded of how much I love this time of year. The rush of finding deals mirrors the thrill of fantasy football.

Now, let’s take the savvy deal-hunting spirit of Black Friday and apply it to your lineup for Week 14. It’s time for the Money Makers & Heart Breakers—those players who can make or break your week. Let’s go!

Here is a brief definition of each of my terms for anyone that might be new:

💰 Money Maker – This player will perform better than expectations

💔 Heart Breaker – This player will perform lower than expectations

Week 14 Money Makers💰

Quarterbacks

Aiden O’Connell

In Week 13 O’Connell passed for 340 yards and two touchdowns. That was against the Chiefs. This week the Raiders play the Buccaneers. The Buccaneers give up the second most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. If you want to go inexpensive, here is the guy. Bryce Young had two touchdowns against this Buccaneers defense in Week 13.

$4,800 on DraftKings
$6,700 on FanDuel

Jalen Hurts

The Eagles play the Panthers in Week 14. The Panthers give up the sixth most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. In Week 13 Hurts got back on track with two touchdowns, one passing and one rushing. You can expect another multiple-touchdown day in Week 14. Quarterbacks average 234 yards and 2 touchdowns per game against the Panthers. Hurts so good, oh baby make it Hurts so good!

$7,800 on DraftKings
$9,200 on FanDuel

Sam Darnold

Darnold has three straight games with multiple touchdowns. He also has his easiest matchup in the past 4 games. This week the Vikings play the Falcons. The Falcons give up the seventh most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. This is a really nice spot to plug Darnold in.

Derek Carr

Running Backs

Saquon Barkley

What happens when the best running back in fantasy goes up against the team that allows the most fantasy points to running backs? We get to find out this week when the Eagles play the Panthers. Barkley has only two games this season where he has scored under 11 fantasy points. The Panthers allowed 16 different running backs to score double-digit fantasy points against them this season. This one is literally a no-brainer.

$9,000 on DraftKings
$10,000 on FanDuel

Tony Pollard

The Titans play the Jaguars in Week 14. The Jags give up the second most fantasy points to opposing teams running backs. Pollard dominates the running back touches for the Titans. He is also targeted in the passing game; he saw six targets in Week 13. This should be a nice spot for him to get 20 something touches. Turn up the volume Tony, turn it up.

$6,400 on DraftKings
$7,500 on FanDuel

Kyren Williams

Williams has zero games with under eight fantasy points this season. He is the model of consistency. The Bills defense defends the pass well but gives up the third most fantasy points to running backs. Kyren will be involved both as a ball carrier and catching passing in the flat because that is what the Bills defense allows. Touches will be funneled to Kyren this week.

Other Running Back DFS Picks for Week 14

Tyrone Tracy

DeAndre Swift

Alvin Kamara

$8,000 on DraftKings
$9,200 on FanDuel

NOTE: James Cook and Isaac Guerendo also have great matchups this week.

Wide Receivers

Drake London

The Falcons play the Vikings in Week 14. The Vikings give up the most fantasy points to wide receivers. London has seen 36 targets in his last three games. On the season London has seen 26% of the Falcons targets. In Week 14 London will come up big.

$6,400 on DraftKings
$7,900 on FanDuel

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine

Nick has scored a touchdown in 7 out of 8 games. He is also starting to get a larger share of the targets. In Week 13 Westbook-Ikhine had 22% target share to lead the Titans. Oh, and it gets even better. This week the Titans play the Jaguars who give up the third most fantasy points to wide receivers. I see another touchdown in Nick Westbrook-Ikhine’s future.

$4,700 on DraftKings
$6,200 on FanDuel

George Pickens

The Steelers played the Browns in Week 12. In that game, Pickens led the Browns in targets but only had 4 receptions for 48 yards. In week 14 the Steelers play the Browns again. The Browns let wide receivers do all sorts of fun things. I’ll take Pickens and his 26% target share in Week 14. He is going to look like Gorgeous George when this game is done.

$6,800 on DraftKings

Other Wide Receiver DFS Picks for Week 14

Justin Jefferson

Malik Nabers

$8,300 on FanDuel

Jakobi Meyers

$5,600 on DraftKings
$6,700 on FanDuel

Tight Ends

Grant Calcaterra

Did I mention that the Eagles were playing the Panthers in Week 14. I do believe I did. The Panther’s defense is really bad. How bad? The Panthers give up the most fantasy points to tight ends. Goedert is out, Calcaterra is starting. He is a nice upside play at tight end this week.

$3,500 on DraftKings
$4,300 on FanDuel

Cade Otton

Otton has been really good this season. In Week 14 the Buccaneers will play the Raiders. The Raiders give up the third most fantasy points to opposing team’s tight ends. With Mike Evans back in the lineup Otton’s target share dropped to 20%. Cade will be utilized in Week 14.

$4,400 on DraftKings
$5,600 on FanDuel

Brock Bowers

You know who else does not defend tight ends well? The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Bowers has 19% target share on the season and is one of the best tight ends in fantasy football. The Raiders will have to pass this week as the Buccaneers will score. This should be a fun game.

$6,500 on DraftKings
$8,000 on FanDuel

Other Tight End DFS Picks for Week 14

Chug Okonkwo

$3,000 on DraftKings

Dalton Knox

Pat Freiermuth

$3,800 on DraftKings
$5,500 on FanDuel

DEF

Jaguars

The Jaguars play the Titans in Week 14. The Titans have given up 22 sacks over the past four games. The Jaguars have not been a defensive juggernaut by any means. But they should be able to get a few sacks, and this should be a low-scoring game.

$2,600 on DraftKings
$3,500 on FanDuel

Steelers

The Steelers are one of the best fantasy defenses and get to play against the Brown this week. The Browns allow defenses to score the second most fantasy points. I love Jameis Winston, he makes football fun, he does that by slinging the football all over the place. He had 2 pick sixes in week 13. This should be another fun week of Winston.

$3,500 on DraftKings
$5,000 on FanDuel

Cardinals

The Cardinals and Seahawks just played in Week 12. The Cardinals defense scored 11 fantasy points in Week 12. The Seahawks allow opposing teams defenses to score the fifth most fantasy points weekly. The Cardinals have 19 sacks over the past four games. They will get after Geno Smith in Week 14.

$3,000 on DraftKings
$3,700 on FanDuel

💔Heart Breakers

Quarterbacks

Jameis Winston

The Steelers are the opponent in Week 14. The Steelers give up the least amount of fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. In Week 12 Winston managed to run a touchdown in but didn’t pass for any against the Steelers. He is a lot of fun, but not enough fun for me to play him in DFS this week.

Brock Purdy

The Bear’s defense is good. They give up the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. Let’s factor in Purdy’s shoulder injury and overall lack of Niners poor play on offense as of late. That one sure does NOT look Purdy.

Aaron Rodgers

The Dolphin’s defense does not allow a lot of fantasy points to quarterbacks. The Jets play the Dolphins in Week 14. If for some crazy reason you thought playing Rodgers was a good idea, I am here for you. I will roll up a new paper, hit you in the nose, and tell you “NO!”. No, do not play him. If you do, I will rub your nose in it.

Running Backs

Bijan Robinson

The Vikings give up the third-fewest rushing yards to running backs. The Vikings defense is very good. Bijan is also very good. He may still have a great day. If you have him in season long you are probably playing him. In DFS do not play him this week.

Najee Harris

The Steelers will play the Browns in Week 14. The last time these two teams met, Najee managed 2.5 yards per carry, gaining 41 yards on 16 carries. Easy avoid for DFS in Week 14.

Chuba Hubbard

The Eagles are the Panthers opponent for Week 14. The Eagles have not allowed a single running back to score over 14 fantasy points against them this season. No one has scored 15 fantasy points against this defense this season. Hubbard most likely will not as well.

Wide Receivers

Tyreek Hill

The Dolphins play the Jets in Week 14. The Jets defend wide receivers the best. Tyreek will most likely find a way to get his. He usually does and his floor is relatively high. So in season-long, I am playing him but in DFS I am all out avoiding him.

Puka Nacua

The Rams play the Bills in Week 14. The Bills are a run-funnel defense. They defend the pass well and dare you to beat them with the run. If you play Puka Nacua this week, I will end up singing Hakuna Matata to you to try and take your worries away. It will not work, but we can try.

Deebo Samuel

The Bears defend the pass well. But this is more about Deebo and the Niners than the good defense. Deebo has not gone for over 22 yards in the past three games. It looks like Craig just came up and knocked him the F out.

Tight Ends

Juwan Johnson

The Saints play the Giants in Week 14. The Giants stink. There is one thing the Giants do though. The Giants do not allow a lot of fantasy points to tight ends. So you probably were not going to play Juwan Johnson anyway, but I still felt the need to confirm that for you here. No, it does not make me feel smart.

Cole Kmet

The odd guy out for the Bears passing game taking off has been Cole Kmet. This week the match-up stinks too against the Niners. Another easy one that you were not going to play anyway.

Jonnu Smith

The Dolphins play the Jets in Week 14. The Jets defend the pass well. The Jets allow fourth-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Not a single tight end has scored double-digit fantasy points this season. Not a single one.
