Week 17 Draft EPL Waiver Wire

The EPL Waiver Wire suggestions for Week 17 follow the matchups as we head into the holiday-heavy fixture list.

In Week 16, Fraser Forster got the shout-out and win for Spurs against lowly Southampton. Christian Norgaard and Dean Huijsen had solid but not great games. Both remain options moving forward. Tariq Lamptey and BHA struggled mightily, and the right back came off at half.

Chelsea has won five straight. Arsenal and Liverpool have each drawn each two straight. Nottingham Forrest continues to get results. At the bottom of the table, things are getting worse for Wolves and Southampton.

Week 17 Fantasy EPL Draft Waiver Wire

Jacob MurphyMidfielder – 38% Rostered – Ipswich vs Newcastle

Murphy has now had two big games in a row. Two weeks ago he had two assists, and last weekend he scored twice. Newcastle have scored nine goals over their last three games. They travel to Ipswich, who sit in 18th place over in the EPL. Murphy should be high on the EPL waiver wire list and will be looking to continue his hot streak as the goals keep coming.

Harry Wilson –  Midfielder – 16% Rostered – Fulham vs Southampton

Wilson is not a sure thing to start or to put up solid numbers, but he has a high upside. He had four shots last week in the Fulham’s draw against Liverpool. Though he didn’t score, he was dangerous. And Southampton are not Liverpool. Southampton is last in the league with just a single point and 36 goals against. There is a chance Wilson has a big game. With Reiss Nelson out to injury and Andreas Pereira suspended his chance of starting and playing major minutes increases. Sander Berge and Timothy Castagne are worth a look on the EPL waiver wire with this matchup.

Kasey McAteer –  Midfielder – 4% Rostered – Leicester vs Wolves

This is a pure matchup suggestion. Leicester and McAteer host Wolves who are last in the EPL defensively. They have given up 40 goals, including 12 over their last four games, having lost all of them. McAteer’s four consecutive starts have yielded an assist and two shots on target to add to his defensive stats. I’ll be looking at team news to see if other Leicester offensive players become available, but it’s a matchup that should have some goals.

Martin Dubravka – Goalkeeper – 1% Rostered – Ipswich vs Newcastle

Dubravka had to make just one save in his first start in place of the injured Nick Pope. Ipswich are 3rd worst in goals scored, which is why they’re in the relegation zone. Newcastle have performed well defensively against teams further down the table. Newcastle get a tougher run of games after week 17, so managers will have to see if he’s a long-pick selection from the EPL waiver wire.

Rotations should continue, so have your lineups ready to be flexible.

Have fun. Good luck!
