Week 3 – Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire

It’s the Week 3 EPL waiver wire, and useful options remain plentiful for Fantrax managers at this point in the season. Lineups are still adjusting as teams are still taking shape, meaning Fantrax managers can still find value on the waiver wire.

Week 2 suggestion, Anthony Elanga, has now scored in both games for Newcastle. His goal against Spurs was a wonderful finish from a wonderful build-up. Thierno Barry had a good but not great game, and he really should have scored. He’s probably worth holding. Emersonn just made it to halftime, as he picked up a knock against Manchester United. Joshua King soared in week one, but came back to earth against a tough Sunderland defense.

Week 3 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire

Week 3 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.

Abdul Fatawu – Forward – 49% Rostered – Ipswich vs Liverpool

It’s been back-to-back double-digit point games for the Ipswich forward, including an assist last game against Man U in the tough 5-2 defeat. He has five key passes to go along with the assist. He’s taking some of the corners and set pieces as well. Those are all the makings a player with a high floor and a high ceiling. He’s yet to register a shot, but it’s still early. It’s not a great matchup, although Liverpool have conceded two goals in each of their games. This is more of a long-term look on the EPL waiver wire.

Konstantinos Tzolakis – Goalie – 40% Rostered – Hull vs Aston Villa

Hull has been the surprise team of the early season, with two shutout wins. Tzolakis has made eight saves over the first two games, and he’s the top scoring keeper in the league. Yes, it’s early, but grabbing a quality keeper early in the season with promise can bolster a squad. In fact, all Hull defenders for Hull are worth a look on the EPL waiver wire this week. They are scoring points. They host Aston Villa who are winless, scoreless, and without a shot on target so far.

Anan Khalaili – Defender – 19% Rostered – Fulham vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have lost their opening two games by a combined 6-1 score. But despite the team’s struggles, Khalaili is putting up points. Fantasy players who can be consistent with or without team success are nice to have on your roster. He’s scoring on both sides of the ball as well, so there’s a chance those points will keep coming. It’s too early to know if this will continue as the season goes, but there is something here to like and might be worth a risk early in the season. Opponents Fulham are also winless, so it’s a good matchup too.

Malick Yalcouye – Midfielder – 3% Rostered – Brighton vs Leeds

The young midfielder made a splash in his first start for Brighton.  He made the most of the opportunity, scoring a crashing goal against a good Chelsea team. His points came from more than the goal though, as he took players on, had another shot on target, and was generally active. While Ayari is out, he should continue to get key playing time. Brighton have scored seven goals in their opening two games, so it looks like there may be points to be had as they host Leeds, who sit just above them in the table.

Bradley Barcola – Forward – 2% Rostered – Ipswich vs Liverpool

He’s clearly the pick of the week out there, as Liverpool paid a small fortune to bring him in from Paris Saint-Germain. Somehow he’s only rostered in 2% of leagues. He is the big signing into the EPL of the late transfer window. If he’s available in your league, get him. Now.

As always, check team news and lineups, especially as rosters have shifted with the final transfers in and out. Have fun. Good luck.
