Week 16 and if your teams are still alive in the fantasy playoffs, give yourself a big pat on the back. If not, don’t just say see you next year as there is always work to be done with your IDP portfolios. In this week’s IDP Stock Market, I have a little something for everyone. Let’s get right into it with some investments that will help you keep your IDP portfolios providing big returns.
Week 16 IDP Stock Market
Investments
Dane Belton, SAF, New York Giants
My first IDP Stock Market investment is SAF Dane Belton of the New York Football Giants. When starter Tyler Nubin went down with an injury and is now out for the season, it was Belton who stepped into that opening. He got the start last week in place of Nubin, playing all 59 defensive snaps and recorded 15 total tackles, seven solo tackles, one tackle for loss, and one PBU. If you need help at the safety position and we all know how hard it is to find top production this time of year, then Dane Belton is an option that you should be investing in for the rest of the season. He’s available in roughly two-thirds of Fantrax leagues as we speak.
Fantrax Rostership: 25%
Akeem Davis-Gaither, LB, Cincinnati Bengals
When Bengals starting linebacker Logan Wilson, was lost for the rest of the season due to injury, there was a collective gasp in the IDP fantasy community. Scrambling to find a replacement, they didn’t have to look very long as the answer was right there waiting for them, in my next IDP Stock Market investment Akeem Davis Gaither. In Wilson’s absence (3 games) all Davis-Gaither has done is average 11.3 tackles per game (34 total). He is as hot as anyone at the linebacker position right now and is the type of investment that can help you win a championship. He’s still available in nearly half of Fantrax leagues so go check your waiver wires.
Fantrax Rostership: 52%
Ugo Amadi, SAF, New Orleans Saints
Up next on this week’s IDP Stock Market, I have another safety option for you to invest in, New Orleans Saints CB Ugo Amadi. He’s on a current five-game stretch that shouldn’t be ignored by fantasy managers. Over that time frame, Amadi has a total of 41 tackles (8.2 per game), and 31 of those have been solo stops (75.6% solo rate). Ugo Amadi is producing at a high and consistent level which should continue. The Saints are without starter Derek Carr and have struggled mightily without him. A high-volume tackler with a high solo tackle rate is exactly what we are looking for and that will help you win games. Again here’s a player that’s still available in nearly half of Fantrax leagues so go check your waiver wires.
Fantrax Rostership: 54%
Tershawn Wharton, DT, Kansas City Chiefs
My next IDP Stock Market investment is something for those of you who play in position-specific leagues, where you are required to start defensive tackles. Playing next to star Chris Jones has its advantages and Tershawn Wharton of the Kansas City Chiefs has been capitalizing on that. In the last two games, Wharton has recorded seven total tackles, six being of the solo variety, 85.7% solo rate, three TFLs, four QB hits, and three sacks. Finding production like this at this position is rare so grab Wharton up and enjoy the return he’s providing. Only rostered in 5% of Fantrax leagues, just sitting there waiting for you to make the investment.
Fantrax Rostership: 5%
