Welcome to the Fantrax MLB Injury Report for Wednesday, June 4, 2025. In today’s report, pitchers are falling everywhere! Corbin Burnes is getting a second opinion, Pablo Lopez has a lat injury, George Kirby took a comebacker, and Hunter Greene reinjured his groin. Read about all of this and more in today’s MLB Injury Report from Fantrax.
MLB Injury Report
Corbin Burnes – SP Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks officially placed starter Corbin Burnes on the 15-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.
Arizona has recalled left-hander Tommy Henry from Reno.
— Alex Weiner (@alexjweiner) June 3, 2025
This was expected ever since Burnes left Sunday’s start on Sunday with what he described as a weird feeling in his elbow. The belief was that he would end up on the Injured List regardless of the diagnosis, but elbow inflammation is concerning. In addition to that, he is headed out for a second opinion, making this quite the ominous situation. Most second opinions are usually because the first one was too drastic. Time will tell, but chances are that we have seen the last of Burnes in 2025.
Pablo Lopez – SP Minnesota Twins
#MNTwins think it’s a lat strain for Pablo López and likely will involve a trip to IL. MRI tomorrow.
— DanHayesMLB (@DanHayesMLB) June 4, 2025
Not ideal, as these injuries can take a while to recover from. We’ll know more today, but with the team already convinced he will require a trip to the Injured List, it means they already know that it’s significant enough. Stay tuned.
Max Meyer – SP Miami Marlins
#Marlins moves:
Max Meyer to the 15-day IL with left hip impingement
George Soriano recalled from AAA-Jacksonville
— Kevin Barral (@kevin_barral) June 3, 2025
This injury might explain why Meyer has struggled as of late. There were reports that he had been dealing with this for a while, which aligns with how poorly his season has gone. There is no timetable for a return, but the hope is that he can rid himself of this issue and get his season back on track. His return is worth monitoring to hopefully give him one last chance as a starter in fantasy.
Tyler Glasnow – SP Los Angeles Dodgers
Tyler Glasnow downplayed the “general body soreness” that Dave Roberts brought up yesterday. Had some back soreness that kept him throwing for a couple days.
Glasnow said his shoulder feels good and he will throw another bullpen this week, likely Friday or Saturday.
— Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) June 3, 2025
It’s interesting that a day after manager Dave Roberts commented on how sore he was, Glasnow sought to say otherwise here, claiming that everything wasn’t as bad as advertised. We’ve seen Glasnow do this before, letting teams know that he was fine to progress, and then eventually getting shut down. The end of last season seems reminiscent of this, though each situation is unique within itself. Here’s hoping that this year is different and that he can return with enough time left in this season to provide value to the fantasy community and in real life.
Brandon Woodruff – SP Milwaukee Brewers
Making what was likely his final rehab start before finally returning to the majors after 20+ months, Brandon Woodruff just exited his start in Nashville after being hit by a line drive in the right arm. pic.twitter.com/dx2hEfm3jw
— Curt Hogg (@CyrtHogg) June 3, 2025
For the second rehab assignment in a row, Woodruff has gotten injured in his last game before returning to the Brewers. It’s uncanny how poor this luck is for him. We should know more about the status of his elbow in the coming days. Our fingers are crossed that he will be okay.
George Kirby – SP Seattle Mariners
Manager Dan Wilson said he thinks George Kirby will be “okay”
Line drive from Urias struck Kirby on the hand and then his face, per Wilson. Adds Mariners will know more by tomorrow
— Andrew Destin (@AndrewDestin1) June 4, 2025
Kirby’s disastrous season continues here, as not only did he take the ball off his face, but it also hit his hand first, to “soften” the blow. And while that is the case, which prevented a serious facial injury or fracture, now he may need to worry about his hand being injured. The team will know more today, as mentioned, but there is a chance that he will require time on the Injured List if his hand is bruised in a way that prevents him from throwing in the near future.
Logan Gilbert – SP Seattle Mariners
Logan Gilbert will make his second rehab start tomorrow night for Triple-A Tacoma, Dan Wilson just announced.
After that, they’ll “reassess” his status. The Mariners said at the outset that it’ll be at least two outings.
— Daniel Kramer (@DKramer_) June 3, 2025
Gilbert might be back with the Mariners if all goes well here tonight. It’s unclear what the pitch count will be, but his last outing only went 1.2 innings of work, so the idea that he could be back with the Mariners seems a bit far-fetched. Still, what he does tonight will be interesting to watch, nonetheless.
Mark Vientos – 3B New York Mets
The Mets don't know yet how serious Mark Vientos' right hamstring strain is — only that it's definitely a strain. They're sending him back to New York for further testing.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) June 4, 2025
Vientos was sent to the Injured List today for a hamstring strain. For the team to feel the need to have testing done, it would appear that it is more likely a stronger rather than a mild strain. We should find out more in the coming days, but chances are this is going to be longer than ten days.
Ezequiel Tovar – SS Colorado Rockies
#Rockies SS Ezequiel Tovar is sitting today and will be out tomorrow with a left oblique injury. The #Rockies, who are off Thursday, are treating and evaluating the injury.
— Thomas Harding (@harding_at_mlb) June 3, 2025
Tovar said that he felt good enough to play right after the injury happened, but now he’s being held out for days. The Rockies will need to determine whether he will require a trip to the Injured List, but given the oblique injury, it is likely he will be out for a while. Stay tuned.
Anthony Santander – OF Toronto Blue Jays
Anthony Santander had a PRP injection in his shoulder. Taking 5-7 days off before throwing and ramping up #BlueJays
— Mitch Bannon (@MitchBannon) June 3, 2025
This was rumored and expected after the team placed Santander on the Injured List over the weekend. From the sounds of it, this was a significant enough injury to warrant some intervention, but with the injection taking effect, there’s a chance that he returns after minimal time off. Still, if things don’t improve, then we’re talking about something more serious altogether. Stay tuned.
Hunter Greene – SP Cincinnati Reds
“It’s not really concerning, it’s frustrating.” Hunter Greene felt his groin grab on final two pitches. pic.twitter.com/vIVL2ktEGt
— Mike Petraglia (@Trags) June 4, 2025
Greene was pulled after 85 pitches after reinjuring his groin. It was this type of injury that cost him time on the Injured List earlier in the season,
Dylan Crews – OF Washington Nationals
Dylan Crews is still building up his strength in his side, per Davey Martinez. He hasn’t been able to swing a bat or do any baseball activity yet.
— Bobby Blanco (@Bobby_Blanco) June 3, 2025
Not the news that the Nationals or fantasy owners want to read. From the sounds of it, he has made little to no gains in the two weeks he’s been away from the team. He will have an MRI this morning to determine the severity of the situation. It’s worth noting that he has thrown anywhere between 83 and 88 pitches in all three of his starts since returning from the Injured List.
Cole Ragans – SP Kansas City Royals
Cole Ragans will start Thursday’s series finale for the #Royals.

Be prepared!
