MLB Injury Report
Zach Neto – SS Los Angeles Angels
Zach Neto’s MRI revealed no structural damage. He’s day to day.
— Erica Weston (@EricaLWeston) June 25, 2025
Today, we begin with good news! Zach Neto’s MRI came back clean, as there is no structural damage to his injured shoulder. There was some worry that he had reinjured his surgically repaired shoulder. Instead, he is considered day-to-day with a sore shoulder. This could have been a lot worse than it was, and it would appear that both he and the Angels have avoided a catastrophe.
Cincinnati Reds – Team Update
Some injury updates
The next big mark on Hunter Greene’s plan is a bullpen session in Boston that he’ll throw when the team is there next week.
They tried to stay away from a banged up Jake Fraley (shoulder) last night. With Joe dealing with something, the bench was thin.…
— Charlie Goldsmith (@CharlieG__) June 25, 2025
Big update here. First, Hunter Greene progressing toward a bullpen session is a big deal. If he can complete more than one of these, he will move on to live batters before hopefully heading out to the rehab assignment. Given how much time he has been away, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him return shortly after the All-Star Break. As for Noelvi Marte, it sounds like he could be back within a week or so, which is great news. Finally, it would appear that Chase Burns is here for good, as long as he performs, as the team is looking for ways to accommodate his body and the well-being of other pitchers.
Wyatt Langford – OF Texas Rangers
Left side tightness for Wyatt Langford. He will get some testing when #Rangers get home from Baltimore. Seems to be less concern than with Jake Burger, who hit the IL on Saturday.
— Jeff Wilson (@JeffWilsonTXR) June 25, 2025
This is worrisome, as last weekend Langford was sidelined with back stiffness, and now he has tightness in his side. As mentioned, he will have testing done to determine the severity of the situation here, but if it’s an oblique injury, this could sideline him for a while. Stay tuned.
Luis Robert – OF Chicago White Sox
Venable on Robert's injury: "Still getting evaluated. Right now, hamstring soreness. Feel like he’s in an OK spot. Give him the off day, see where we’re at on Friday."
— Scott Merkin (@scottmerkin) June 25, 2025
Robert barely lasted an inning before being lifted from Wednesday’s game. While it’s good news that the injury is considered minor, there’s still a significant chance that he requires time on the Injured List, given his extensive injury history.
Xander Boagerts – 2B San Diego Padres

Bogaerts injured his shoulder while sliding into a base on Tuesday. The concern here is that this is the same shoulder that was giving him problems last month and the one that he fractured last year. It’s unclear if this will be an ongoing issue or if it’s simply because of the slide. Then again, it could have been triggered by the slide, too. His performance this season has been anything but what we’re used to, so chances are that this shoulder has something to do with that.
Casey Schmitt – 3B San Francisco Giants
Casey Schmitt said an X-ray on his wrist was negative, but he may get additional tests tomorrow. Giants have been hit a ton in last two weeks, general clubhouse feeling was that it’s not intentional but that it’s probably time to put a stop to it.
— Alex Pavlovic (@PavlovicNBCS) June 26, 2025
The good news here is that the initial X-rays were negative; however, the team will continue to test him to ensure that there is no significant damage. Chances are, there is some swelling, as Schmitt looked to be in pain after getting drilled.
Alex Bregman – 3B Boston Red Sox
It "looks like" Alex Bregman won't be back until after the All-Star break, Alex Cora said. So that would be July 18 at the earliest.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) June 25, 2025
While this could be seen as negative news, it shouldn’t be surprising. It was believed from the get-go that this significant injury would cost Bregman a huge chunk of time. He compared this injury to one he had years ago, which cost him months. The fact that he won’t be back before the All-Star Break confirms what we already knew. It’s good news that he hasn’t experienced any setbacks and is still making progress.
Mark Vientos – 3B New York Mets
Mark Vientos (hamstring) could be activated tomorrow, Carlos Mendoza said.
The Mets will decide whether to reinstate him to play him tomorrow or give him a day off after playing yesterday and today.
— Jorge Castillo (@jorgecastillo) June 25, 2025
Regardless of when he will be activated, the fact remains that Veinots appears to be close to returning to the Mets and (finally) healthy. Be prepared.
Shane McClanahan – SP Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays Shane McClanahan (nerve-related injury) posted video on his Instagram in the last hour of him throwing off a mound 👀 pic.twitter.com/50SReKHjxl
— Ryan Bass (@Ry_Bass) June 25, 2025
Fantastic news here, as McClanahan appears to be through the swelling phase of his recovery. He had setbacks every time he had tried throwing, but he now appears ready to take that next step forward. If all goes well and he can comfortably do this at least once more, he should elevate to live batters before a long rehab assignment. He needs to work himself back up from not having played in years and from having no Spring Training.
