Another day, another fantasy football mock draft. This mock draft is from the fifth spot in a 12-team league. The same format applies. It is full PPR with one QB, two RBs, two WRs, one TE, and two FLEXs. This time, I went early on a QB and waited till round eight to get my second RB. Let’s dive in!
What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.
Mock Draft from the 5th slot
1.05 – CeeDee Lamb
As stated before, Lamb is an alpha. He should be selected every time as the fifth pick and as high as three, after Bijan Robinson and Ja’Marr Chase. He is two years removed from finishing as the WR1 overall. Last year, he was the WR7 despite not having Dak Prescott for a portion of the season. Lamb returns to the top five status for fantasy football in 2025.
2.08 – AJ Brown
AJ Brown can easily be the WR1 overall if the Philadelphia Eagles passed it more and did not blow out teams as often as they do. Brown is one of the best WRs overall according to PFF’s rankings for WRs. Getting him as the WR9 in 2025 is a gift from the fantasy football Gods. I believe we will see another side of Jalen Hurts and his passing development. This makes Brown’s chances of being a top-five WR in 2025 extremely high.
3.05 – Chase Brown
I believe Chase Brown will be going in the second round in real drafts. Zack Moss was released earlier today. Brown was already a RB1 in 2024 and saw over 50 receptions. Being in one of the best offenses in the NFL, Brown can see a serious workload of 300 or more touches in 2025.
4.08 – Jalen Hurts
A stack is always a beautiful thing. Since I do not draft another RB until round eight, selecting Jalen Hurts in the fourth was key. Hurts will always have his rushing upside and the tush push. He is good for double-digit rushing touchdowns once again in 2025 and makes up for not taking a RB until the later rounds. Also, pairing him up with his WR1 will bring major weeks for the two, giving you upwards of 60 points combined.
5.05 – Courtland Sutton
Courtland Sutton had his most receiving yards since 2019, the most targets of his career, and his best fantasy football finish, too. He signed a contract extension and has become Bo Nix’s favorite target. With a level to Nix’s game and the Denver Broncos offense, getting Sutton as your first FLEX is amazing for full PPR leagues.
6.08 – Travis Kelce
Travis Kelce is old and has not had over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons after seven seasons straight of doing that. Despite that, he was still the TE6 in PPG and has a sixth-round ADP. Kelce is still the favorite target of the best QB in football, Patrick Mahomes. After a down year, this seems like a steal with rumors of it being his last season. Kelce will want to prove why he is the greatest TE ever.
7.05 – Calvin Ridley
Another fantasy football mock draft with Calvin Ridley. Ridley with the best QB he has played with since Matt Ryan will be cinema. He has had consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with poor QB play. As we all have seen the off-season videos, Ridley will continue to rise in ADP as the NFL season approaches.
8.08 – Jordan Mason
Jordan Mason is presumed to be the RB2 behind Aaron Jones for the Minnesota Vikings. Although it has been reported that they will be splitting carries in 2025. I will take the younger RB every single time. Mason filled in for the injured Christian McCaffrey and had three RB1 finishes in the first four games. Now, he goes from one high-powered offense to another. I believe Mason will see double-digit touchdowns in 2025 and is a fantasy football sleeper.
