PGA FedExCup Tour Championship

Scottie Scheffler has won five of his last 10 tournaments as he heads to the FedEx Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia. Can we compare him to Tiger Woods yet? Not quite yet, but the chip-in on the 17th at last week’s BMW Championship certainly was reminiscent of Tiger in his prime.

Having all but wrapped up the FedEx Cup, Scottie will go to Atlanta as the favorite again, currently +150 in the betting market. It’s hard to imagine anyone getting close; Rory McIlroy should, but his form is scratchy, finishing tied 12th and only one round under par all week.

East Lake Golf Club will once again host the FedEx Tour Championship, having been its home since 2005. It is the oldest golf course in Atlanta and the residence of the legendary golfer Bobby Jones.

The top 30 qualifiers from last week’s event will be hoping to get their hands on the prize pool of $40million, and all hoping Scottie Scheffler has an off week!

Top Three Picks To Win The FedEx Tour Championship

J.J. Spaun (+2500)

The 34-year-old turned pro in 2012 and had to wait till the Valero Texas Open in 2022 to get his first win. This year, he won his first major, winning the US Open at Oakmont Country Club. He has come runner-up three times this year and has six top tens. Can he stop Scottie Scheffler?

Ludvig Aberg (+1600)

Always a consistent player, Ludvig has finished in the top ten three out of his last four tournaments. With six top tens and a win at the Genesis Invitational, he’ll be looking to top the leaderboard come Sunday, and at only 25 years old, he will be relishing the challenge.

Patrick Cantlay (+2200)

When you look at his stats, nothing stands out, but since winning in 2021, Patrick has not finished outside the top 20. Above average in most categories, Patrick will be hoping to get his first win of the season and has somehow not won since 2022, when he won the BMW Championship.

Hot Pick

Russell Henley (+2500)

In the modern era of long drives, Russell Henley is not the longest, but he proves that distance isn’t everything.  Fifth in total strokes gained and fourteenth in approaching the green, Russell has not been outside the top 20 in his last six tournaments. One to watch this week.
