Week 4 presents one of our best buying opportunities of the season. Managers are growing increasingly impatient as the year goes on. There are a few disappointments with some of the top players in fantasy football. Making it the best time to go out and make some trades.

Players to Target in Dynasty Football
Ladd McConkey, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
Keenan Allen and Quenton Johnston have severely decreased Ladd McConkey’s fantasy outlook this season. Did anyone expect McConkey to be third in targets through the first three games of the season? I certainly did not. Johnston is having a third-year breakout and has three top 24 finishes on the season. And Keenan Allen has turned back the clock, scoring in all three games.
Justin Herbert is still throwing enough to support all three, throwing 37 times per game. McConkey is still getting the first read targets and separation to be a great fantasy receiver for lineups. I would suggest trying to trade a first-round pick plus a player for him in dynasty before this weekend. The Chargers’ matchup against the Giants is tailor-made for McConkey. The Giants are in the top three in fantasy points allowed to slot receivers, and McConkey is still getting a majority of the slot snaps for the Chargers. McConkey is still a great option, but the receiver room is crowded.
Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
The reality of Shane Waldron being on the Jaguars has now made its rounds on social media. Not that it wasn’t known before. However, people are blaming the struggles of the offense on someone. The receivers deserve a hefty percentage of the blame. Jaguars receivers lead the league in drops with 13. Thomas Jr. leads the league with five of his own.
After his breakout rookie campaign, it is unbelievable the start he is having to 2025. Thomas Jr. is still getting the targets in the early going. However, Parker Washington’s pacing of the team with 11 points in their last game could elevate concern. I am not concerned about Thomas Jr. just yet. However, if this continues, managers will be forced to make a decision. I am willing to take a risk on a player like Thomas Jr. for a package that contains a player like Chuba Hubbard and a first and second-round pick, if panic is high among managers in leagues. Better days are ahead for this Jaguars passing offense, and someone with Thomas Jr.’s talent will rebound more often than not.
Jaylen Warren, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers
Warren is the ideal trade target for contenders early on in the season. He has an elite role out of the backfield, being 14th in carries and 12th in targets. The real number that stands out is his expected fantasy points per game, which is currently sixth among running backs. He has not finished lower than RB20 on the season either.
However, it might be best to hold onto this information and trade for him later in the season. Warren and the Steelers will be playing the Minnesota Vikings. It is a tough matchup for any offense. Then, after that, is the bye week for Warren. The schedule does not get any easier for Warren either, as he will face the Cleveland Browns after their bye.
Warren has a desirable four-game stretch from Week 10 to Week 13, during which he will face some easier run defenses. So it is all about timing with Warren, but if contenders need a running back. Kaleb Johnson or Kenneth Gainwell are not serious threats to Warren’s role. Warren is a great trade target, a second-round pick, plus someone like Tahj Brooks, should get a deal done.
Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams
Corum is quietly the more effective rusher in the Los Angeles Rams backfield. And this is one of the last chances managers will get to trade for him. Corum’s opportunities have increased every week to start the season. And this backfield has the potential to develop into a split between Kyren Williams and Corum.
With Corum averaging 7.1 yards per carry, it is challenging to keep him off the field. It will be interesting to see how McVay utilizes Corum in the future, but there is no doubt that he is a legitimate player in a valuable offense. A second-round pick should land Corum on your roster, and I am perfectly comfortable sending that off early in the season.

Conclusion
Week 4 is around the time of the year to add players through trade who have disappointed this far or have shown flashes in a limited role. This three-game sample size is not indicative of their whole season. Things in the NFL are very fluid, and it helps dynasty managers to play the game that way as well.
This window is for the contenders, as rebuilders will have their chance later in the season. More people will be willing to part with their picks, and sadly, more players will get injured. However, three of these four players would also fit on rebuilders. It will just be harder to part with high-end picks instead of those in the middle of the pack.
At the bare minimum, I would check in with the managers who have these players on their team. The worst they could say is no, and who knows, they could be panicking. It is better to check in first rather than see a trade go down, and wish you had done it yourself. Prime trade season is just right around the corner, and it never hurts to position yourself in front of the rest of the crowd.
