Welcome to our Week 5 Quarterback Sleepers and Streamers! Week 4 featured some of the biggest names going down to injury, so unless you were one of the lucky few to make it out unscathed, you probably need to pick up some new players this week.

If you’re hurting at QB, you’re in luck, as we had a 75% hit rate in this article for Week 4.
Jordan Love put up a monster game on Sunday night, throwing for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns, and is the QB4 on the week going into the Monday Night games. He’s our big win from last week.
Drake Maye was not too far behind as the current QB6 after another strong performance and 3 total touchdowns. He’s a Top-5 QB on the season so far, and I think we’ll have to retire him from this article altogether moving forward. Hopefully, you’ve been listening to our advice and have picked him up because I doubt he will be on any waiver wires after this week.
Our long-shot call of Marcus Mariota also got us a W for the week. He managed to get over the 15-point threshold and finished as a top-half QB. If you were forced to play Mariota, that’s certainly a win.
Geno Smith was our one bad call. You would think with Ashton Jeanty catching two touchdowns, that Geno would have been good, but his three interceptions derailed his fantasy day. Under 10 points and definitely an L.
Current Season Tally 12-6
We’re doing pretty good on the season, let’s see if we can keep this hot streak going into Week 5 with our next batch of Sleepers and Streamers!

Week 5 Quarterback Sleepers
Jared Goff @ Cincinnati Bengals
Even though the Lions blew out the Browns in Week 4, it wasn’t all roses for Goff. Against the tough Cleveland defense, Goff completed a season low 59% of his passes and threw his 2nd interception of the year. In his first three weeks, Goff has completed about 78% of his passes.
Expect Goff to get back on track when they travel to Cincinnati. They have a shallow defense and an offense that can’t stay on the field now that Jake Browning is under center. Goff hasn’t taken a sack in 3 weeks, and I don’t see the Bengals being able to apply much pressure. When he has time, Goff can be surgical.
This should be another trouncing by the Lions, and hopefully, Goff can be more involved in this one. Â Brush off Week 4, and fire him up for this one.
Kyler Murray vs. Tennessee Titans
Kyler has yet to top 19 fantasy points in any game this season, but if there is one known cure for that, it’s the Tennessee Titans defense.
While it hasn’t been pretty for Kyler so far, there are some reasons for hope. First, he is averaging 6 rushing attempts and 37 rushing yards per game.  Second, the team is not giving up on Marvin Harrison Jr., whose route tree and usage are much improved from his rookie year. Week 4 against the Seahawks looked like it could have been Marv’s death knell after he caused two interceptions early, but the team kept calling his number, resulting in a beautiful late-game touchdown. I think the only person more relieved by the score than Fantasy Managers was Marv himself.
For Kyler to level up, he and Marv will need to be on the same page for a full game. If that happens, it should open up more opportunities for Trey McBride as well. If they can’t do this at home against the Titans, it might not happen this season.
Week 5 Quarterback Streamers
Matthew Stafford vs. San Francisco 49ers
Stafford turned in a vintage performance in Week 4 against the Colts that reminded us all of his Detroit days. While anecdotal, his big games have often come in spurts. Last season, between weeks 8-12, he averaged 281.6 yards and 2.4 touchdowns per game, with two of those being 4 touchdown performances. He has had similar stretches in each of the past few years.
Going into a big primetime game against a divisional rival, there’s reason to believe that Stafford can keep up his numbers from Week 4. San Francisco is beat up on both offense and defense. They didn’t allow for Trevor Lawrence to have big totals last week, but they did let him have his highest completion percentage of the year, which is saying something since he has already played the Panthers and the Bengals so far.
Stafford should be able to apply a similar approach by finding the easy passes and methodically moving the ball against them. He also gets to throw to this guy named Puka Nacua, maybe you’ve heard of him? Puka opens up the field for everyone else, which resulted in the first big Tutu Atwell bomb of the year in Week 4.
The Rams are really starting to find their stride. Expect that to continue in Week 5.
Tua Tagovailoa @ Carolina Panthers
Full disclosure, this article was written before the Monday Night games, so if Tua got knocked out of that one, stop reading here. Assuming that he survived against the Jets, however, he should be a usable option in Week 5.
A common theme in this article is targeting matchups against bad defenses, which is why you so often see me recommend whoever is playing the Panthers.
Tua has the tools around him to have big games. The team chooses to throw to their running backs instead of handing it off to them at an extremely high rate. While these aren’t always the highest quality plays, they still help pad Tua’s stats. He already has one 300+ yard game this season. In 2024, he had 4 such outings in only 11 games played.
Another potential boon for this game is the fact that the Panthers might actually be able to score on the Dolphins’ defense and make it competitive. I wouldn’t count on this, but it’s not unfathomable. Even if the Panthers can’t score, Mike McDaniel likes to run up the score whenever he can. His job could be on the line, and he’ll need to make this one look as good as he can. It’s tough to count on Tua right now, but the matchup is too good to ignore.
