2025 Fantasy Football: Weekly Winners – Week 6
Justin Herbert vs. MIA
Week 6 will be the Justin Herbert bounce-back week. The last three weeks, Herbert has totaled three passing touchdowns with four interceptions and has been under 15 Fantasy Points in each game. Herbert opened up the season throwing 25/34 (73.5%) for 318 yards with three passing touchdowns and rushed for 32 yards, which totaled 27.9 Fantasy Points.
Then in Week 2, Herbert threw 19/27 (70.4%) for 242 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, rushed for 31 yards, and finished with 18.8 Fantasy Points. Herbert has arguably the best wide receiver trio in Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston, and Ladd McConkey in the NFL. The Chargers will also have to roll out third and fourth-string running backs for Week 5. Oh, and they face a Dolphins defense allowing the third-most Fantasy PPG to quarterbacks this season. Big week to come.
Matthew Stafford vs. BAL
Matthew Stafford has been on absolute fire lately. 29/41 (70.7%) for 375 passing yards and three touchdowns in Week 4 was 27.4 Fantasy Points. Then in Week 5, Stafford threw 30.47 for 389 passing yards, three touchdowns, and 25.6 Fantasy Points.
This is massive upside through the air, connected to this year’s most dominant wide receiver in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Stafford currently sits first in passing yards and second in passing touchdowns. Up next for the Rams is a Ravens defense allowing the second-most Fantasy PPG to quarterbacks and the second-most passing yards per game (262.6). Stafford can stay hot here.
Drake Maye vs. NO
Drake Maye currently ranks fifth in passing yards this season with 1,261 yards. Maye has three games with multiple passing touchdowns, two games over 270 passing yards, two games with an 82%+ completion percentage, two games with a rushing touchdown, a game with 45 rushing yards, three games of 19+ Fantasy Points, and two games over 23 Fantasy Points.
Although Maye did not score well for Fantasy Football, he still was a big piece of a Buffalo Bills upset in Week 5. Stefon Diggs has looked great the last two weeks, which is also a boost for Maye. Up next is a Saints defense that allows the seventh-most Fantasy PPG to quarterbacks, which can mean another big Fantasy day.
Mac Jones vs. TB
As I am writing this article, it is not confirmed that Brock Purdy will be out for Week 6, but it is certainly looking to be the case. And with Mac Jones playing so well in place of Purdy, the 49ers need not panic. Through three San Fran starts, Jones has ranged from 39-49 passing attempts in all of them (volume), he has ranged from 279-342 passing yards through these games (upside), he has totaled six passing touchdowns during this span, and has two of these three games over 21 Fantasy Points.
This has been without the 49ers being at full health as well. This guy is earning a starting role somewhere else next year. Up next for the 49ers is a Buccaneers defense that allows the sixth-most Fantasy PPG to quarterbacks, which makes Mac a solid streamer.
Josh Jacobs vs. CIN
Josh Jacobs scored a touchdown in each of his first two games this season, rushed for 84 yards in Week 2, and caught five passes for 44 yards in Week 3, but only ranged from 12.4-14.4 Fantasy Points through three weeks. Week 4 was the Fantasy Football explosion, with Jacobs rushing 22 times for 86 yards and two touchdowns, and catching four passes for 71 yards, which was a major 31.7 Fantasy Points.
The receiving production in the last two games was solid, and Jacobs has finished with 20 or more touches in all four games. Following the Week 5 BYE, the Packers now face a Bengals defense allowing the most Fantasy PPG to running backs and the fourth-most rushing yards per game (259) this season. Another big game for Jacobs to come.
Ashon Jeanty vs. TEN
It is October, and Ashton Jeanty, doing his Michael Myers stance, has embraced Halloween. Jeanty started off the first three weeks of football slowly for Fantasy Football, despite rushing for a touchdown in Week 1. Then, against my Bears in Week 3, Jeanty rushed 21 times for 138 yards and a touchdown, as well as caught two balls for 17 yards, with both of them being touchdowns. 33.5 Fantasy Points.
Just last week, Jeanty rushed 14 times for 67 yards and caught five passes for 42 yards. A season-high in rushing yards in Week 4, followed by a season-high in receiving yards in Week 5, is a great trend. Jeanty will now face a Titans defense that allows the third-most Fantasy PPG to running backs and also the third-most rushing yards per game (146.8) this season. The rookie’s momentum will continue.
Rico Dowdle vs. DAL
Chuba Hubbard has not been ruled out for Week 6, after missing Week 5, but that is looking like a real possibility. You know what that would mean? Rico Dowdle REVENGE GAME against his former Dallas team.
Rico Dowdle broke Fantasy Football last week, rushing 23 times for 206 yards (9.0 yards per carry) and a touchdown while adding 28 more yards through three catches, which was a solid 32.4 Fantasy Points. Rico’s old team allows the sixth-most Fantasy PPG to running backs and the 10th-most rushing yards per game this season. Dowdle has to be in lineups if Hubbard is out, based on last week and the matchup this week.
Rachaad White vs. SF
With Bucky Irving out last week, Rachaad White logged a solid 18 total touches, consisting of 14 carries for 41 yards and two rushing touchdowns, along with four catches for 30 yards. 23.1 Fantasy Points in Week 5. The 49ers are not a plus matchup, but with Bucky out there is clearly quality volume to be had in a solid offense. White has had plenty of Fantasy relevance the previous two seasons as well, and back-to-back games with four receptions is a good PPR trend.
Tetairoa McMillan vs. DAL
Rookie Tetairoa McMillan feels in the shadows of Emeka Egbuka, who has been exploding, but TMac has had a solid campaign so far. McMillan is currently tied for seventh for the position in targets, averaging 8.6 per game. McMillan also ranks 14th for the position in receiving yards, averaging 70.2 per game.
McMillan already has a 100-yard game under his belt from Week 2, where he finished with 16 Fantasy Points, but we have yet to see a major week. The Panthers will face a Cowboys defense in Week 6 that allows the most Fantasy PPG to wide receivers and the most passing yards per game (284.6). Dallas has a poor defense, but a good offense, which consistently creates positive game scripts. If there was a week to go off, it is this one.
Calvin Ridley vs. LV
Although the target volume has not been awful for Calvin Ridley this season, before Week 5, the production has been. The Titans’ offense, behind a rookie quarterback in Cam Ward, along with plenty of holes, is at the bottom of the league. We saw a glimpse of hope in Week 6, though for Ridley, with a solid 18.1 Fantasy Point outing.
Ridley caught five of his 10 targets for 131 receiving yards (26.2 yards per catch) for his first big day with Ward. 10 targets are a positive sign, and 131 receiving yards show Ridley still has juice. The veteran wide receiver can continue upward in Week 6 against a Raiders defense that allows the fourth-most Fantasy PPG to wide receivers this season.
Marvin Harrison Jr. vs. IND
There have been plenty of positive signs for Marvin Harrison Jr. in his sophomore year this season. MHJ has finished games with 71 (Week 1), 66 (Week 4), and 98 (Week 5) receiving yards. Harrison earned 10 targets in Week 4, has two receiving touchdowns, and has also had two weeks over 18 Fantasy Points this season so far. Harrison Jr. also made his second 40+ yard catch of the season in Week 5, which looked like a massive touchdown, but he was ruled down at the one.
Up next for the Cardinals is a Colts defense that allows the fifth-most Fantasy PPG to wide receivers so far this season, in a game that will have plenty of offense from both ends. MHJ has a solid opportunity at another big week.
Deebo Samuel vs CHI
Deebo Samuel has been great so far this season in Washington, and one of the best values from Fantasy Football drafts. Deebo has two games with double-digit targets, three games with seven or more catches, three games over 70 receiving yards, two games with 18/19 rushing yards, four total touchdowns on the year, four weeks of 17+ Fantasy Points, and three weeks over 20 Fantasy Points.
This man is balling out, and with Terry McLaurin banged up, his role is even more significant. Up next for the Commanders is a Bears defense that allows the eighth-most Fantasy PPG to wide receivers this season, which should mean another solid Fantasy outing for Deebo.
DK Metcalf vs CLE
DK Metcalf has scored a touchdown now in three straight games. While scoring is not something you can bank on weekly, you can at least acknowledge the upside there with Aaron Rodgers. Right before the Week 5 BYE, DK also posted a season-high 126 yards on just five catches (25.2 yards per catch).
While the volume has not been amazing, there are positive signs here heading into Week 6. DK also faces a Browns defense that ranks 10th in Fantasy PPG allowed to wide receivers so far this season, so following the BYE, maybe we see a bump in volume after Metcalf’s big Week 4.
Rome Odunze vs WAS
Rome Odunze is having a huge sophomore year, and his connection to Caleb Williams looks great. Through four weeks (Week 5 BYE), Rome is averaging 8.75 targets, five receptions, 74 receiving yards, and 19.9 Fantasy Points. Odunze has scored a touchdown in each game, with five on the year so far.
Odunze has also averaged 18.3, 20.7, and then 17.3 yards per catch in the last three games played. Up next for the Bears is a Commanders defense that ranks 12th in Fantasy PPG allowed to wide receivers and 10th in passing yards per game allowed. This is a Bears’ revenge game for that Hail Mary loss last season.
David Njoku vs PIT
Rookie Dillon Gabriel made his first NFL start last week, and you know who he really loved? David Njoku, who led the team in targets (nine), receptions (6), and receiving yards (67). Njoku also scored a touchdown, and his solid day resulted in 18.7 Fantasy Points.
We have seen plenty of upside out of Njoku the last few seasons, and with this shift to Gabriel brings some optimism to have weeks like Week 5. Up next for the Browns is a Steelers defense that allows the fourth-most Fantasy PPG to tight ends and the third-most passing yards per game (260.5) this season. Another Njoku solid outing up next.
Evan Engram vs NYJ
I have said this a few times, but I do not think Evan Engram started the season playing fully healthy. The production in the first two weeks hinted at that, and then he missed Week 3. But in Week 4, Engram earned a season-high seven targets, and then in Week 5, he earned six targets and scored on one of them.
His 13.3 Fantasy Points last week were a positive sign, and I still have hope Engram can play that Sean Payton “Joker” role in Denver. The Jets allow the ninth-most Fantasy PPG to tight ends this season, which is a nice opportunity for Engram to build off of last week.
