What did we do to deserve that? If only the Los Angeles Rams had a better fourth-down play in overtime, perhaps they wouldn’t have lost. And then we have that Emari Demercado fumble and absolute collapse by the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth quarter. Don’t forget the Buffalo Bills losing at home to the New England Patriots. So yes, it was carnage. That’s not going to stop us, though, right? Let’s take a look at our Week 6 NFL Survivor Picks.

Week 6 NFL Survivor Picks
Indianapolis Colts vs. Arizona Cardinals – Colts -7.5
How do you come back from this? Are we talking about allowing 16 unanswered fourth-quarter points at home to a previously winless Tennessee team and blowing the game? What about seeing your head coach get physical with a running back following a fumble?
And now you have to travel east for an early game on Sunday. That’s not a recipe for success. It shouldn’t be surprising that it hasn’t exactly been a smooth start to the work week for the Arizona Cardinals, and I don’t expect to see things get better.
The Cardinals are on their third-string running back, and Michael Carter gained just 52 yards on 19 carries last week. Through five games, Kyler Murray has only 962 passing yards, and the Cardinals rank 26th with 311 yards per game. In facing an Indianapolis defense that’s ranked third with 17.8 points per game, it’s going to be a rough afternoon.
Not only do the Colts have a strong defense, but their offense is ranked fourth in total yards (388) and second in points (32.6) per game. At this point, Murray hasn’t shown that he can keep up with Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor.
Green Bay Packers vs. Cincinnati Bengals – Packers -14.5
Yes, the Cincinnati Bengals did just acquire Joe Flacco to play quarterback. I’m also aware that they have Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins waiting to catch passes from him. But we’re also talking about the same Joe Flacco who completed just 58.1% of his passes this season with two touchdowns and six interceptions for the Cleveland Browns. That led to Flacco being benched by the Browns for rookie Dillon Gabriel, before ending up in Cincinnati.
It’s possible you can note that Flacco already defeated the Packers this year when he was still with the Browns. But let’s be honest, that was all about the Cleveland defense. For those keeping track, Flacco threw for just 142 yards and an interception against Green Bay. To be fair, his offensive weapons are going to be better here, but Flacco isn’t the quarterback he once was. And there’s also going to be an adjustment period for a signal caller joining a new team.
So far this year, the Bengals are ranked last with just 57 running yards per game. When you’re facing a Green Bay defense that ranks second with only 78 rushing yards allowed per game, it’s bound to be a rough a matchup.
The Packers are averaging 26 points per game this year, and they face a Cincinnati team allowing 31.2 points per game. While anything can happen, it’s hard to find a path to victory for the Bengals. If Flacco doesn’t have time to find Chase and Higgins, it doesn’t matter how good his receivers are.

Los Angeles Rams at Baltimore Ravens – Rams -7.5
If Lamar Jackson were healthy, I wouldn’t be going near this game. In fact, there’s a very strong chance that the Baltimore Ravens would be favored.
Cooper Rush struggled, to put it nicely, last week against the Houston Texans. He managed just 231 passing yards, despite Baltimore being in catch-up mode, while throwing three interceptions. That’s the complete opposite of Matthew Stafford, who’s averaging 300 passing yards per game to go along with 11 touchdowns. It certainly helps to have human cheat code Puka Nacua, but Davante Adams and Kyren Williams aren’t bad weapons either.
While very unlikely, the Ravens are ranked 31st with 262.4 passing yards allowed per game. That will allow Matthew Stafford to continue performing at a high level. Rush isn’t going to be able to keep up with Stafford, and the backup quarterback will run into more resistance against a solid Rams’ defense.
What is even more surprising is that Derrick Henry and the Ravens’ run offense won’t be here as a fallback option. Through five games, Henry is averaging 4.95 yards per carry, but he only has 64 carries. I’m not sure that the Ravens defense will shut Stafford down enough to allow Henry to control the clock.
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants – Eagles -7.5
Oh, the storylines that this game has. Generally, I like to avoid divisional games, but this one has to be on our radar.
The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a rough home loss to the Denver Broncos. It was the first loss of the season for the Eagles and led to a players’ only meeting with leadership. Following that, the thought process is that the Eagles will come out ready to play on Thursday.
While the New York Giants won Jaxson Dart’s starting debut, they didn’t have the same good fortune last week. The Giants were up early, but a slew of turnovers ultimately sunk New York. Dart has yet to show the ability, or the Giants the willingness, to open things up downfield. Now, Darius Slayton joins Malik Nabers on the sidelines, which will make things even harder for Dart. Facing a solid Philadelphia defense ranked in the middle of the pack won’t do him any favors either.
The Eagles are ranked 30th with 288 yards per game, but they are 12th with 25 points. That doesn’t bode well for a Giants team ranked 22nd as they’re allowing 25.4 points per game.
With an over/under of 40.5, it’s not surprising, but there isn’t a ton of offense expected. That means it will be a close game, and in a short week, I’m going with the better team. At this point in their careers, it’s hard to bet on Dart over Jalen Hurts. If the opposite, I wouldn’t be surprised, but all signs point to a tight Philadelphia victory.
