Fantasy Football Week 7 DST Streamers

Last week was a mixed bag, but I recommended 3 of the top 4 DSTs. The Steelers were highly rostered after the bye, but the Rams and Raiders were still available in many leagues. The Browns let us down in a juicy spot, and the Colts were nearly upset by a Jacoby Brissett-led Cardinals team. There are better DST streamer options in Week 7, and many are widely available. Plus, a few teams to stash for next week.

Week 6 Results (Standard Fantrax Scoring)

  • Las Vegas Raiders: 22 Points (1st Ranked DST)
  • Los Angeles Rams: 20 Points (2nd)
  • Pittsburgh Steelers: 16 Points (4th)
  • Green Bay Packers: 6 Points (T-15th)
  • Indianapolis Colts: 4 Points (18th)
  • Cleveland Browns: 0 Points (T-29th)

Week 7 DST Streamers

New England Patriots (at Tennessee Titans)

Fantrax Rostership: 74% (Other Platforms: 53% – 72%)

As I mention almost every week, the Patriots have one of the best schedules in the league. Despite facing some of the worst offenses in the league already, New England still gets to play the Titans, Browns, Falcons, Jets, Patriots, and Giants. This week may end up being their best performance yet.

Cam Ward threw for over 200 times and a TD in a loss to the Raiders, but he was picked off and sacked 6 times. Vegas didn’t possess an especially good pass-rush outside of Maxx Crosby, either. It has been clear from the start of the season that the Titans are not built to win football games, and they are not doing a good job of protecting their QB. Ward is not blameless, but what matters to us is that there are opportunities for fantasy points.

Sacks, low scoring, and a turnover or two are all you need for a strong DST performance. That’s on the table with the Titans every week. Stream the Pats DST with confidence in Week 7. Hold onto them for the rest of those juicy matchups, too.

Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)

Fantrax Rostership: 59% (Other Platforms: 13% – 57%)

The Chiefs were a stash recommendation last week, and their roster percentage expectedly dropped as they faced the Detroit Lions. Kansas City has struggled this season after going all the way to the Super Bowl, but their defense has been one of their biggest assets. Though they allowed a possible outlier 31 points to the Jaguars (though 7 points came from a defensive TD and PAT), they have limited teams like the Lions, Ravens, and Eagles to under 21 points each. The Chiefs blitz at the 5th-highest rate in the league, and that has amounted to 14 sacks.

Las Vegas has only exceeded 20 points twice this season. The first time was in a blowout loss to the Commanders and a close loss against a struggling Bears defense. In both games, they only scored 24 points. Geno Smith can do alright in a strong matchup, but he is not looking like a game-winner. He can succeed against an awful Titans team, though he only threw for 174 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in a game where the team scored 20 at home. He should struggle against the Chiefs.

When under pressure, Smith has the 5th-highest turnover-worthy pass attempt percentage, the 3rd-most sacks, and the lowest passer rating in the league per PFF. Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo gets a juicy matchup against a struggling Raiders offensive line. An already good DST could feast in Kansas City in Week 7.

Cleveland Browns (vs. Miami Dolphins)

Fantrax Rostership: 49% (Other Platforms: 25% – 62%)

Cleveland could not generate a single sack or turnover in a blowout loss to the Steelers. I find that to be an outlier; Pittsburgh is a good team with a budding offensive line that played at home after a bye. I still really liked the matchup last week but it didn’t work out. This week, they host a Dolphins team that I am not nearly as high on.

Reports keep emerging about how bad things are getting behind the scenes in Miami. That shows in their games, where they seem to just fall apart despite having a smart head coach and talented players. Tua Tagovailoa is throwing an interception of 3.8% of his passes, a career high for him. He’s also getting sacked at the highest rate of his career.

With one of the best defenses in the league, Cleveland should return to form in an ideal fantasy matchup. You can even stash the Browns DST since they play the Patriots Week 8, Jets Week 10, Raiders Week 12, and Titans Week 14.

Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. Los Angeles Rams)

Fantrax Rostership: 43% (Other Platforms: 23% – 37%)

Jacksonville’s incredible takeaway numbers ended against Seattle, but they are still a consistently successful DST. They’re 1st in total DST points and 2nd in fantasy points per game. That’s despite going against the Seahawks, Chiefs, and 49ers. The Rams don’t scream “great fantasy matchup”, nor have they been bad on offense. In fact, LA ranks 3rd in offensive DVOA. They’re sandwiched right between the Chiefs and Seahawks. This is clearly a risky play, but the Jags may deliver.

At the time of writing, we have no idea if Puka Nacua will play in Week 7. I would feel much more comfortable playing them without Puka, but Matthew Stafford can excel without him. Davante Adams is having another excellent year and leads the league in red zone targets. Kyren Williams is also doing quite well, though it’s a down year compared to his last two seasons. Jacksonville’s defense is middle-of-the-pack in most stats outside of takeaways, but if you need a unit that has performed regardless of matchup, the Jaguars are your team. The ceiling is low this week but they are a lite version of the Seahawks for fantasy purposes.

This game will be played in London, familiar territory for the Jaguars. While it may slightly benefit them, teams are getting better at logistics for international games. Additionally, they will not be flying across the country for this, as they played on the East Coast in Baltimore last week. Eagle-eyed fans may notice that seemingly every team has a bye week or East Coast game right before they play in Europe this year. Los Angeles’ offense can overcome missing Puka, but the Jaguars have been able to slow down some of the league’s best.

Miami Dolphins (at Cleveland Browns)

Fantrax Rostership: 27% (Other Platforms: 2% – 4%)

Miami’s defense is not just bad, it’s the worst in the league. By DVOA, EPA, points allowed, and yards allowed, they rank either dead last or bottom-4. Despite that, they have delivered some fair fantasy performances. Against the Patriots, Jets, and Panthers, the Dolphins averaged 8 fantasy points and never scored below 7. Their pass rush has been solid, and they have taken advantage of the good matchups. As far as low-rostered streamers, you could do a lot worse.

The Browns are the 2nd-best DST fantasy matchup, and that may not change with Dillon Gabriel at QB. While Gabriel is a young player who should have a better chance to elevate the team and keep drives alive, he has produced mixed results to start his career. The Browns offensive line is still bad, and Miami should be able to deliver solid results. Their ceiling may be capped, though.

Chicago Bears (vs. New Orleans Saints)

Fantrax Rostership: 20% (Other Platforms: 4% – 8%)

The Saints may not be an elite DST matchup, but they are still one to target. Spencer Rattler is not elevating the New Orleans offense to high point totals, but he takes care of the ball and only gets sacked at a moderate rate. Despite that, opposing defenses have scored at least 5 points against them and regularly hover around double-digits.

Chicago’s defense is a confusing unit. While allowing a league-high 6.5 yards per play, they also lead the league in drives ending in turnovers. Over 21% of opposing drives ended with a turnover, per Pro Football Reference. What’s even more impressive is that the Bears are 2nd in takeaways despite already having their bye week. Chicago has had a pretty tough schedule, too, versing the Vikings (pre-injuries), Lions, Cowboys, and Commanders. They also played the Raiders but they’ve returned good results nearly every week.

If you took away their blowout loss to the Lions, the Bears DST would average 10.75 fantasy points per game. That would make them the DST9 in standard Fantrax leagues. Rattler doesn’t turn the ball over much but he doesn’t do a ton of scoring. The Bears should be a safe option this week. They may also offer some value next week when they play the Ravens, though that all depends on Lamar Jackson’s health.

DSTs to Stash

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons visit the 49ers in Week 7 but they get to host the Dolphins next week. They also face the Patriots, Panthers, Saints, and Jets over the next 6 weeks. Atlanta’s defense ranked 1st in DVOA even before they beat the Bills. They could be the real deal, but at the very least, you can start them in those great matchups.

Indianapolis Colts

There isn’t much more to say than the Tennessee Titans. The Colts will host them next week, but they visit the Chargers this week. Expect a dip in rostership that may allow you to scoop them up. Indy let us down against the Cardinals last week but they scored 17 fantasy points against Tennessee in Week 3. I expect similar results at home.

New York Jets

The Jets could be a good start this week against the Panthers, but they need to prove more consistency in these great matchups. If you are feeling frisky, you can play them, but they can also be stashed for some other good games, if they perform in Week 7. New York

draws the Bengals and Browns in Weeks 8 and 10, though they have a bye in Week 9. The Joe Flacco Bengals offense has started to look and the Bengals will have extra rest after playing on Thursday, though. Of all the stashes, this is the one I am least confident in. To say their defense has disappointed is a major understatement. Matchups can only do so much, so this is much more speculative and recommended more in deep leagues.
