The name of the game was quiet last week. There were no tight ends with multiple touchdown catches, and only 11 finished with at least 10 fantasy points in PPR leagues. With Trey McBride and George Kittle at the top of the list, there were some familiar names. We know that Tyler Warren and, to a lesser extent, Theo Johnson, are ascending, but there were also some other, less prolific names.
A new slate of games is here, so let’s dig into our Week 11 NFL Tight End Rankings. At the same time, it’s important to get the full picture and take a look at what transpired in Week 10 while setting the stage for Week 11.

Injury Notes for Week 11
Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
When the Los Angeles Chargers drafted Oronde Gadsden in the fifth round, it was clear we were dealing with a talented young player. It took Gadsden a few weeks to deliver on his upside-down, but the results were glorious.
As we head into Week 11, Gadsden is dealing with a quadriceps injury. The good news is that it’s not a knee injury, and the MRI didn’t show anything more serious than a bruise. It’s possible Gadsden has to miss a week, but the good news is that he won’t miss much more time than that.
It’s a situation that bears watching, but if Gadsden is on the field, he should be in your lineup. We’re going to proceed as if that’s the case, but if not, keep an eye on Tyler Conklin.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
After leaving the field early last week, Dalton Kincaid is currently week-to-week as he deals with a hamstring injury. It’s been a solid season for Kincaid to this point as we wait for him to reach his potential and find consistency.
Kincaid will likely be sidelined this week, and it leaves a target void in Buffalo’s offense. Dawson Knox will take on a larger role at the tight end position, but we can’t assume he’s going to receive all of the targets.
Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
After spending four games on Injured Reserve, Brenton Strange is back to the practice field. That doesn’t mean we’ll see him return to the field, but with Hunter Long also injured, it wouldn’t surprise me that Strange will return for Week 11. He’ll continue to be a solid option in deeper leagues, but I wouldn’t expect much more than that.
Tight End Notes
Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Aside from Emeka Egbuka, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are pretty light at the skill positions. Mike Evans is on Injured Reserve, and both Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving are slated to miss Week 11 as well. That means Baker Mayfield needs someone to throw the ball to, and that’s the dependable Cade Otton.
Last week, we got to see the full picture of that as Otton caught nine of his 12 targets for 83 yards. He’s still looking for his first touchdown on the season, and that could come this week. We do have to account for it being a tough matchup against the Buffalo Bills, but someone needs to catch the ball for the Buccaneers.
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Facing the Carolina Panthers this week, Kyle Pitts gets the benefit of a favorable matchup. That should allow Pitts to continue what’s been a solid, if at times underwhelming, season.
The biggest issue for Pitts is that he’s caught just one touchdown on the season. Aside from that, he has been busy with 59 targets, which he turned into 45 catches for 420 yards. Last week, Pitts only caught two passes for 38 yards, but this week figures to be a better performance.
Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders
With Jayden Daniels still sidelined, that leaves Marcus Mariota under center for the Washington Commanders. The Commanders are also beat up at the receiver position, which means they’ll be more apt to lean on the reliable and dependable Ertz. That’s also the case with Mariota under center.
Facing the Miami Dolphins is a good thing, as they are allowing the fourth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends this season. Last week, for the third straight game, Ertz had four catches. This time it was for 54 yards, which brought his total to 345 on the season. I’m expecting Ertz to have his best game of the season in Week 11.
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
This is a situation where we have to follow the matchup. While the Pittsburgh Steelers offense hasn’t looked great at times this season, the league’s worst defense can be a cure for that. In Week 11, that’s the case as the Steelers face the Cincinnati Bengals.
In each of the last three games, Freiermuth has had three catches in what has been a lackluster season. If you have to dig deep this week, follow the favorable matchup.
