Week 14 Weekend Waiver Wire

This is the final push before the fantasy football playoffs. This is the point in the season where every roster spot matters, every lineup decision feels heavier, and every waiver claim can swing a matchup. And here’s your friendly reminder: you can make waiver additions all week long.

Too many managers think waivers are “one and done” on Wednesday morning, but the truth is, some of the best pickups come later in the week after injury reports shake out, after depth charts shift, and especially right before the Sunday games kick off. Staying active on Friday, Saturday, and even early Sunday is often how you snag the surprise start or hidden gem that wins you the week.

As we head into the home stretch, a heads-up: Week 15 will be the final Weekend Waiver Wire column of the 2025 season, the playoff edition. It’s been a long grind, but we’re not done yet. There’s still time to strengthen your roster, patch up weak spots, and find that one player who can put your team over the top.

Let’s dive into the names that can keep your season alive heading into the biggest games of the year.

Week 14 Weekend Waiver Wire

Quarterbacks

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins

For Tua, this is purely matchup-based for Weeks 15 through 17. The Dolphins play the Steelers, the Bengals, and the Buccaneers. All three of these teams are in the bottom 10 in pass defense. Tua has one of the friendliest playoff schedules for quarterbacks.

Other quarterbacks to consider:

JJ McCarthy, Minnesota Vikings – The most manageable playoff schedule of any quarterback. Cowboys, Giants, and Lions.

Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets – 172 yards and a TD passing and another 44 yards and a TD rushing in Week 13

Quarterback Notes: Tua and McCarthy are a desperation addition in great matchups for the playoffs. Tyler Shough may also be someone to consider who is at least moderately producing. But if I were still needy at quarterback, Taylor might be the best addition for Week 14.

Running Backs

Chris Rodriguez, Washington Commanders

He had 41 yards and a touchdown on eleven carries in Week 13. Rodrigue seems to be the only back that the Commanders have that produces anything. He has a straightforward playoff schedule; Week 15 against the Giants, who give up the second most fantasy points to opposing teams’ running backs, and Week 16 against the Eagles, who happen to give up the eighth most fantasy points to running backs.

Other Running Backs to Consider:

Bam Knight, Arizona Cardinals – 14 total touches, 98 total yards, TD

Devin Singletary, New York Giants – 15 total touches, 102 total yards, TD

Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams – 7 carries, 81 yards, TD

Running Back Notes: Rodriguez is one of those not very sexy additions that can help you win. Knight, Singletary, and Corum all appear to have some standalone value right now as well. I am also a bit on players like Samaje Perine, Tyler Allgeier, and Brian Robinson for excellent handcuffs this time of year. Better to have the player who ends up with an opportunity on your bench rather than fight for them in Waivers on Tuesday.

Wide Receivers

Devaughn Vele, New Orleans Saints

Vele has 15 targets over the past two games, which is a 19% target share over that span. In Week 13 he had 8 receptions for 93 yards and a touchdown. A connection is growing here with Tyler Shough, and it probably makes sense to add and hold at the very least.

Adonai Mitchell, New York Jets

He had 12 targets in Week 13, which accounted for a massive 36% of the target share. Mitchell turned those into eight receptions, 102 yards, and a touchdown. This was his breakout game. If he keeps catching the ball, he could be very useful for the final weeks of the season. Fingers are crossed, mine, not his; he will start dropping the ball again if he crosses his.

Jayden Higgins, Houston Texans

Somehow still out there on the vast number of waiver wires. He has consistently produced over the past few weeks with a relatively high floor. Higgins had a stat line of 5 targets, five receptions, and 65 yards in Week 13. He is the Texans’ second option.

Other Wide Receivers to Consider:

Kayshon Boutte, New England Patriots – 5 targets, 4 receptions, 35 yards, TD

Darius Slayton, New York Giants – 3 targets, 2 receptions, 41 yards, TD

Wide Receiver Notes: Vele is looking like a potential PPR gold mine. Mitchell may or may not produce the rest of the way; a breakout game does not always equal consistent performance. Higgins should already have been added everywhere. Boutte and Slayton both offer touchdown upside weekly. I like the gut getting the most volume the best, and that is Vele. If Marvin Harrison is out, I would add Greg Dortch back on this list as well.

Tight Ends

Darren Waller, Miami Dolphins

Waller caught two of his three targets for 47 yards. The third, he also caught, but stepped out of the back of the endzone. If you missed out on adding Brenton Strange last week, I would consider Waller a solid addition for the playoff run.

Gunnar Helm, Tennessee Titans

Once again, Helm saw seven targets. He caught six of those for 23 yards. He is not lighting the world on fire, but who is at tight end? There is a relatively high floor here in PPR. Everyone loves a little floor play.

Other tight ends to consider:

Colby Parkinson, Los Angeles Rams – 5 targets, 4 receptions, 27 yards

Evan  Engram, Denver Broncos – 9 targets, 6 receptions, 79 yards

Tight Notes: Waller should probably be rostered everywhere. Tua targets him in the red zone often. He also seems to rack up yards on his catches. Helm is a nice addition in PPR; otherwise, I wouldn’t bother. Parkinson is a touchdown-dependent dart throw, and Engram is not consistently getting the targets he got in Week 13. If you read this far it Waller I want.
