Fantasy Football Week 15 DST Streamers

There weren’t many good low-rostered options last week but even the better matchups were busts. Things should turn around in Week 15, the first week of most fantasy playoffs with more streaming options available. This was the first truly bad week all year.

Week 15 DST Streamers

Last Week’s Stashes: Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, San Francisco 49ers

Philadelphia Eagles (vs. Las Vegas Raiders)

Fantrax Rostership: 99% (Other Platforms: 60% – 75%)

Coming off an embarrassing loss to the Chargers on Monday Night Football, the Eagles get a great bounce-back game. The Raiders have surpassed the Titans and now allow the most fantasy points to opposing DSTs. Though there have been some meltdowns in recent weeks, the Eagles continue to perform as a fantasy football DST. Not only are they the DST12 on the season, but they have scored 7 or more fantasy points in nine of thirteen games this year.

Geno Smith and the Raiders have not found a way to sustain offensive success. Sure, a drive here and there has looked great, but the veteran signal caller still lacks depth at receiver and gets mauled behind an awful offensive line. Smith has been sacked 49 times this year, tied with Cam Ward for the most in the league. Philly just took advantage of an injured Chargers offensive line and sacked Justin Herbert 7 times. We should expect more success in Week 15.

Jacksonville Jaguars (vs. New York Jets)

Fantrax Rostership: 81% (Other Platforms: 38% – 45%)

If you want an example of a DST that gets the job done in every great matchup, just look at the Jaguars. With really only one exception, they have taken care of business and scored double-digit fantasy points against every bottom-half offense they played. Even in the tougher games, they have had some fantasy success. This week’s game against the Jets should see their trend continue.

The DST4 this season hosts a Jets team that doesn’t know who its QB is. Justin Fields was injured and ruled out, Tyrod Taylor got the start but got hurt, and rookie Brady Cook stepped in with expectedly little success. Even if Fields can return for this one, it’s unlikely that he can make much noise. Star WR Garrett Wilson is eligible to return from IR this week, but there have not been any updates on him so far. Adonai Mitchell has shown flashes of success, but nothing consistent. Even at his best, Fields hasn’t done much. His best game was a 39-38 win against the worst defense in the league, and he didn’t eclipse 300 passing yards or score more than 1 TD.

The Jets as a whole can still put up points, as shown in their OT victory over the Falcons in Week 13. However, that was more of a fluke and not indicative of them as a whole. No matter who is at QB, the Jaguars are likely to feast. With a division title within reach, they are not taking their foot off the gas. They might be the best DST streamer in Week 15.

Dallas Cowboys (vs. Minnesota Vikings)

Fantrax Rostership: 67% (Other Platforms: 7% – 12%)

The Cowboys continue to get scored on like it’s their job but their defense has been able to generate fantasy points. While Quinnen Williams – a trade deadline acquisition – has only accumulated 1.5 sacks in his time with the Cowboys, he has recorded 6 QB hits and 18 hurries in 4 games with Dallas, per PFF. Those are both better than his marks in New York despite playing double the amount of games with the Jets.

In general, the Cowboys have been able to get to the QB and salvage fantasy performances. They now host a Vikings team that has not figured out how to protect J.J. McCarthy.

McCarthy had the best game of his career against the Commanders last week, throwing for 3 TDs and no interceptions. However, McCarthy was never truly tested. The Commanders didn’t get anything going on offense, not even managing to score a single point. The Cowboys feature a much better offense led by an MVP candidate in Dak Prescott. It’s unlikely that the Vikings keep him at bay for long. McCarthy will likely need to make riskier passes to keep pace, which could spell disaster.

Even in last week’s win, McCarthy was sacked 4 times. The Vikings can still put up points against an anemic Cowboys defense, but it’s likely that they get to the QB and generate enough fantasy points to make this a solid stream. Pair that with a great Cowboys offense that may force the Vikings to take risks, and you’ve got a recipe for a good DST week. They just need to execute.

San Francisco 49ers (vs. Tennessee Titans)

Fantrax Rostership: 95% (Other Platforms: 23% – 37%)

Could Cam Ward and the Titans actually be rising? Over his last 5 games, Ward has thrown 4 TDs to just 1 INT (5 TDs and 6 INTs in the previous 8 games) while taking just 3 sacks on average (4.25 on average in the previous 8 games). The Titans offense also put up 20 on the Chargers, 24 on the Seahawks, and 31 in a road win over the Browns. Perhaps it’s just a fluke, but Ward could be settling into the big leagues. That’s bad news for the 49ers, but they still have mild streamer appeal.

The 49ers are coming off some much-needed rest after an injury-riddled season. Prior to that, though, they limited the Browns and Panthers to fewer than 10 points each. San Francisco scored 15 or more fantasy points in each game. While mostly unimpressive as a fantasy defense to that point, things could be turning around against what is still not a great offense. While the Titans do look more threatening than ever, the best streaming options may have already been scooped up.

You can either tempt fate and pick a DST at random, or you can stream a team coming off a bye and facing the team allowing the 2nd most fantasy points to opposing DSTs. Maybe they’re for real, but maybe they’re just a little better than usual. There is logic in backing the 49ers, but they still carry risk as they continue to battle injuries on both sides of the ball.
