We never take successful weeks for granted, but that was the case in Week 15. Not only were we perfect with all five of our survivor picks, but four of those games were devoid of stress. It was just the Seattle Seahawks who struggled to secure the victory and made us sweat.

At this point, that is old news. There are three weeks left in the regular season, and it’s full speed ahead. Let’s jump right into who we are considering for our Week 16 NFL Survivor Picks. I will say, it’s not getting any easier.
Before we go any further, please keep in mind that there are two games on Saturday this week. That could influence your pick timing if you wish to pick one of those games. Spoiler alert, there’s one on the radar.
Week 16 NFL Survivor Picks
Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders – Eagles – 6.5
I don’t love the fact that I’m taking a road team in a divisional matchup. However, we also can’t leave any stone unturned. That’s especially true as we get to Week 16.
For those considering the Philadelphia Eagles, the good news is that the Washington Commanders are already looking forward to 2026. Granted, Jayden Daniels is truly injured, but there is some level of conservatism here. Daniels has been shut down for the year, and Washington will turn to Marcus Mariota to play out the string.
The teams haven’t played yet this year after the Eagles blew the doors of Washington in the postseason last year. Both teams are coming off a victory, but that should be graded on a curve. Washington beat the New York Giants, currently the worst team in the NFL, by eight points while the Eagles blew out the Las Vegas Raiders by a score of 31-0.
Mariota doesn’t have Zach Ertz as a safety valve, and he’s also going against an Eagles team ranked 10th with 197 passing yards allowed per game. He’s not going to get any help from his defense, and the Eagles should continue get their offense right for the postseason.
Houston Texans vs. Las Vegas Raiders – Texans -14
If you didn’t utilize the Houston Texans last week, this is the week to do so. It truly doesn’t get much better than facing the Las Vegas Raiders at home.
Last week, the Raiders were shut out by the Philadelphia Eagles, and it’s not getting any easier for them this week. Las Vegas goes back to Kenny Pickett under center and there isn’t a worse matchup. The Texans allow the fewest yards per game, 290.1, and also the fewest points at 16.3. Pickett is not going to be the quarterback to crack this code.
Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns – Bills -10
If you have the Buffalo Bills remaining, this is a great spot to target them with your survivor pick. These are two teams going in opposite directions, as the Bills are in the midst of a three-game winning streak compared to a three-game losing streak for the Cleveland Browns.
Breaking Shadeur Sanders in at quarterback is going about as expected. And that is not well. Overall, the Browns are ranked 29th with 16.1 points per game. That stands in stark contrast to a Buffalo team scoring 29.4 points per game.
From a points per game allowed perspective, the two teams are relatively equal. The Bills have done a great job shutting down the passing game this season. That takes on an even greater role this week against Sanders, who has yet to find his groove. With that being a strength, that should allow Buffalo to focus even more on shutting down Quinshon Judkins and the run game. If anything, that will be the difference this week.
Detroit Lions vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – Lions -7
This is essentially a must-win game for the Detroit Lions if they look to hang onto any postseason hopes. They do return home, but it’s not going to be an easy matchup against a Pittsburgh Steelers team that is coming off a two-game winning streak. The Steelers are also working on a short week, and I’m not sure how much credit they should get for a home defeat of the Miami Dolphins.
The other issue is that, for the Steelers, this week’s game is also critical as they look towards the postseason. What this comes down to, then, is the quarterback play. Can Jared Goff outduel Aaron Rodgers?
Detroit is the more desperate team, and they are ranked first with 30.6 points scored per game. Neither defense is performing especially well this season, but the edge has to go to Goff.
