Football is a cruel game. Travis Etienne was averaging 71 rushing yards per game going into Week 15. The Jacksonville Jaguars were heavily favored and ultimately won by 28 points. It was clear that Etienne was going to have a big game. Instead, he gained just 32 yards on 12 carries.
The good news is that our other two prop plays were successful. Now, let’s keep the momentum running forward into Week 16. Let’s dig into our Week 16 NFL Prop Plays on DraftKings.

Week 16 NFL Prop Plays (DraftKings)
Mike Evans Over 58.5 Yards (-110)
After a lengthy absence for a broken collarbone, Mike Evans returned to action last week. In facing the Atlanta Falcons, Evans picked up right where he left off. The veteran was in midseason form as he caught six passes for 132 yards.
From a defensive standpoint, the Carolina Panthers are in the middle of the pack. Evans shouldn’t find it too hard to have success, as it looks like he’s going to be the main focus of Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay offense.
The Buccaneers are being careful with Evans’ practice status this week, but it’s not something I’d be concerned about. It doesn’t appear as if he’s had a setback, and instead, Tampa Bay is just managing his workload. Based on his performance last week, it’s clear that we shouldn’t have any questions about his health. His prop play for this week is a modest number that Evans shouldn’t have any issues with.
It’s pretty close to a must-win game for the Buccaneers, and they are going to need Evans to do that.
Oronde Gadsden Over 36.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
Is this a trap? It certainly feels that way with Oronde Gadsden’s prop play this week at just 36.5 receiving yards. On the season, Gadsden is averaging 50.2 receiving yards per game. Along the way, he’s had some big performances, and today, we don’t even need to go that big with Gadsden.
Last week, he caught four passes for 61 yards. That was one of seven games (out of 12) in which Gadsden has eclipsed his prop play. This week, in facing the Dallas Cowboys, Gadsden has one of the best matchups in the league.
Gadsden continues to establish himself as a major cog in Los Angeles’ offense. The chemistry is there between the rookie tight end and Justin Herbert. That’s something we can exploit in Week 16 as the Cowboys are allowing a league-worst 255 passing yards per game.
TJ Hockenson Over 27.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
With TJ Hockenson’s prop play, we are really not asking for much tonight. Last week, the veteran tight end’s capabilities were on display. He caught four passes for 66 yards in what was a clear breakout as it relates to 2025.
Chemistry has seemingly been established between Hockenson and JJ McCarthy as the young quarterback is making his way in the NFL. If we’re going to base things on last week, then this projects to be a very attainable number. We know what Hockenson is capable of, even if 2025 has been, for the most part, a rough season.
This week, it’s a solid matchup against the Giants that Hockenson is looking to capitalize on. Perhaps the more important thing is that McCarthy appears to be getting more comfortable.
