Welcome to Week 18, one of the most uncomfortable weeks on the DFS calendar and, without question, the hardest slate to get right. This isn’t about projections alone. It’s about information, motivation, and understanding who will be on the field. Some teams are fighting for playoff seeding, some are locked in and resting starters, and others are simply evaluating what they have for 2026. That added layer of uncertainty is the nuance that defines this slate. Volume can disappear without warning, rotations can change mid-game, and late news matters more than any model. If you’re playing the Week 18 late slate, you’re signing up for some chaos, but with the right read on who has something to play for, that chaos can turn into opportunity.

Week 18 NFL DFS Late Slate Picks
Quarterbacks
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles still have plenty on the line, and that matters in Week 18. Jalen Hurts is coming off a frustrating outing against the Bills, one that lived up to his Heart Breaker label last week; but the spot couldn’t be better for a rebound. Philadelphia faces the Commanders, who allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks. Over the past four games, every QB they’ve faced has thrown multiple touchdowns and topped 23 fantasy points. Expect a clear bounce-back here, with the Eagles leaning fully into Hurts’ strengths and pushing his tush right back into the fantasy success column.
- FanDuel $8500
- DraftKings $6500
Drake Maye, New England Patriots
The Patriots close out the regular season against the Dolphins. Maye has scored multiple touchdowns in four of his last five games played. Over the same stretch of games, the Dolphins have given numerous passing touchdowns in four out of the previous five games. By the laws of correlation equals causation, you would think this is automatic. But it gets better. The Dolphins give up the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing teams’ quarterbacks. The Patriots could still finish first in the AFC and earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs. Let’s go, Patriots (yes, I am a Boston guy)
- FanDuel $8600
- DraftKings $7100
Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
Bears vs. Lions has all the makings of a shootout, carrying the second-highest over/under on the main slate at 50.5 points. Detroit has been a favorable matchup for quarterbacks, allowing the 10th-most fantasy points to the position, and Caleb Williams enters this game playing the best football of his young career. He’s thrown multiple passing touchdowns in four straight games and shows no signs of slowing down. Expect Williams to let it fly at home this Sunday — the only mystery is which color nail polish he shows up with.
- FanDuel $7800
- DraftKings $5900
Running Backs
James Cook, Buffalo Bills
Buffalo still has real incentive in Week 18, needing a win to lock in playoff seeding, and James Cook remains one of the engines of this offense. He draws an ideal matchup against the Jets, who allow the second-most fantasy points to opposing running backs and have surrendered six rushing touchdowns to the position over the last three games alone. With the Bills motivated and the matchup screaming upside, Cook is set up to do damage early and often in this one.
- FanDuel $9000
- DraftKings $7900
Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Kyren Williams comes into Week 18 off a strong outing with 130 total yards and now gets one of the friendliest matchups on the slate. The Cardinals give up the third-most fantasy points to running backs and allow the fourth-most rushing yards per game at 112. Even better, Blake Corum is dealing with an ankle injury and is unlikely to suit up, clearing the way for Kyren to dominate touches. With the Rams expected to play their starters to improve playoff positioning, Williams checks every box as a volume-driven, high-ceiling play. In Kyren, we trust.
- FanDuel $7900
- DraftKings $6700
Saquon Barkley, Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles play the Commanders in Week 18. The Eagles still have playoff seeding at stake and have something to play for. In Week 16, the Eagles also played the Commanders, and in that game, Barkley carried the ball 21 times and had 132 yards and a touchdown. You can run on the Commanders. Look for Barkley to get volume and production in Week 18.

- DraftKings $7200
Wide Receivers
Luther Burden, Chicago Bears
As of this writing, I’m operating under the assumption that Rome Odunze will miss Week 18, and if that holds, Luther Burden is set up for another strong outing. In Week 17, Burden ranked second on the Bears in targets with nine while leading the team in receptions, hauling in eight for 138 yards and a touchdown. The matchup remains ideal against the Lions, who allow the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers. With volume, momentum, and matchup all lining up, Burden should remain a key piece of the Bears’ passing attack — and plugging him into your lineup won’t be a burden this week.
- FanDuel $6100
- DraftKings $5300
Amon-Ra St. Brown, Detroit Lions
The last time Detroit faced Chicago, Amon-Ra St. Brown put on an absolute clinic. Back in Week 2, he commanded 11 targets, converting them into nine catches for 115 yards and three touchdowns. The Bears continue to struggle against wide receivers, giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to the position. If you’re searching for a reason to fade him, you’re looking in the wrong place. The Sun God rises again in Week 18, and he remains one of the safest and most explosive wide receiver plays on the slate.
- FanDuel $9100
- DraftKings $7700
Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
The Broncos play the Chargers in Week 18. The last time they played each other was Week 3, and in that game, Sutton had eight targets, six receptions, 118 yards, and a touchdown. Both the Chargers and Broncos are playing for playoff seeding this week. With a lot on the line, he is someone you can plug in this week and know he should see targets.
- FanDuel $7000
- DraftKings $5900
Michael Wilson, Arizona Cardinals
In Week 14, Wilson had the best game of his career, 16 targets, which he turned into 11 receptions, 142 yards, and two touchdowns. That was against the Rams. In Week 18, you will never guess who the Cardinals are playing, that is correct, the Rams. This is a case of the game script and volume giving Wilson a chance to get fantasy points for you. I love this.
- FanDuel $7300
- DraftKings $6600
Tight Ends
Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders
Mayer was a great volume play in Week 17. In that game, he had 10 targets, nine receptions, and 89 yards. This week he is going up against a Chiefs defense that is tough on tight ends. The key to this play much like last week is the volume will be there for production. The Raiders also have a small passing tree where Mayer saw 30% of the targets in Week 17. 53% of the targets went to Mayer and Tre Tucker. The volume will be there again in Week 18.
- FanDuel $5200
- DraftKings $3500
Terrence Ferguson, Los Angeles Rams
Ferguson has caught a touchdown in each of the last two games. In Week 18, the Rams will play the Cardinals, who give up the seventh most fantasy points to tight ends. Fergie is a really inexpensive play in DFS with touchdown upside this week.
- FanDuel $4900
- DraftKings $2700
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
In Week 17, Loveland led all Bears pass catchers with 10 targets. He turned those into six receptions, 94 yards, and a touchdown. The Lions are another team that defends tight ends relatively well, which brings us back to this being a volume-based play in what looks like a potential shootout. The Bears’ receivers are mostly dinged up, and Loveland has proven he can step in and deliver.
- FanDuel $5300
- DraftKings $3900
Defense
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs’ defense hasn’t exactly been a fantasy juggernaut this season, reaching double-digit fantasy points just three times. One of those performances came against the Raiders, the same opponent they drew in Week 18. Las Vegas has been a gift to opposing defenses all year, allowing the second-most fantasy points to the position and coughing up at least 14 fantasy points to DSTs in eight straight games. Only once this season has a defense failed to reach double digits against the Raiders, and even that “bad” outing still produced eight points. It’s not a lock… but it’s about as close as Week 18 gets.
- FanDuel $3700
- DraftKings $3200
Buffalo Bills
Buffalo’s defense has quietly found its groove, averaging 13 fantasy points per game over the past five weeks. The matchup pushes them firmly into play as they face the Jets, who have been an absolute gold mine for fantasy defenses. Over the last five games, DSTs facing New York have averaged a ridiculous 20 fantasy points per contest, and the Jets now allow the third-most fantasy points to defenses on the season — the most during that recent stretch. If you’re connecting the dots, you’re doing it right. Fire up the Bills’ defense with confidence in Week 18… and yes, that might be a first this season.
