Now that’s how you start off the postseason. Beyond the exciting games that we got to enjoy, it was a profitable weekend. All three of our prop plays hit last week as Christian McCaffrey, Rhamondre Stevenson, and Jayden Higgins found success.
As we head into Sunday’s games, the intention is to continue that level of success. While the process will stay the same, and we don’t want to react to either the highs or the lows, it’s difficult not to have some good thoughts.
What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax this season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune next season.
In considering prop plays for the weekend, the focus below is on the two matchups we get to enjoy on Sunday. The Houston Texans take on the New England Patriots, and then we have the Los Angeles Rams facing the Chicago Bears.
The clear intention is to continue our success, so let’s dig in. Here are our Divisional Weekend NFL Player Props on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Divisional Weekend NFL Player Props (FanDuel Sportsbook)
Rhamondre Stevenson Over 20.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
Last week, we targeted Rhamondre Stevenson for production on the ground. After his success, we’re now looking to the air with his prop play.
Yes, the Houston Texans are ranked sixth in the NFL with 183.5 passing yards allowed per game. On the surface, that should keep you away, but I’m heading in the opposite direction. Despite how stingy a passing defense the Texans have, they still give up 183.5 passing yards per game. Opposing teams have to get there somehow, and it’s likely that the New England Patriots will be conservative through the air.
That will play perfectly into Stevenson’s prop play. The Houston defense will likely be too strong to let the Patriots focus down the field. However, New England will still have to have some variety in their play calling. Last week, Stevenson caught three passes for 75 yards.
It’s not fair to expect a repeat performance, but his prop play is quite reasonable. For the sixth straight week, Stevenson eclipsed his prop play. The good news is that getting to seven doesn’t require an especially high climb.
Luther Burden Over 38.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
The Chicago Bears, led by Caleb Williams, have an explosive offense.
The Los Angeles Rams, led by Matthew Stafford, have an explosive offense.
Talk about a good matchup. The two teams, led by their respective quarterbacks, need to keep up with each other. That means we’ll see a good amount of offense, but specifically the ball traveling downfield through the air.
Last week, Luther Burden caught three of seven targets for 42 yards in his first career postseason game. The chemistry has been building between Burden and Williams, and that should continue this week. In his last three regular-season games, Burden had 67, 84, and 124 receiving yards. All are productive performances that show what the rookie receiver is capable of.
In a game that presents itself as a shootout, Burden’s prop play is a manageable number.
Terrance Ferguson Over 7.5 Receiving Yards (-114)
It’s clear we aren’t asking for much here from Terrance Ferguson’s prop play. Just one catch, that’s it.
As we discussed above, there’s a clear expectation that this is going to be a shootout. That means each and every weapon will be deployed in the passing game. After missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, this includes Ferguson.
In his two games prior to the injury, he caught three passes for 33 yards and then two passes for 54 yards. That is a far cry from just 7.5 yards. Essentially, as long as Ferguson catches one pass, there’s a strong possibility he hits his prop play. And with two catches, that chance only increases.
