Fantasy Baseball Injury Report

Corbin Carroll – OF Arizona Diamondbacks

It’s looking more and more like Carroll will fulfill the prophecy that he laid out when he proclaimed that he would be ready for Opening Day. A lot can happen from now until then, but congratulations to you in drafts if you were able to capitalize on a sunken draft cost.

Logan Henderson – SP Milwaukee Brewers

As mentioned, this is a troubling situation that’s developing due to the fact that Henderson missed time with elbow inflammation last year. If this soreness does not go away, or if it resurfaces with additional ramp-up, it might be time for the team to go see a specialist or have some sort of testing done. This has an ominous tone to it, but it’s too early to get too far ahead of the game.

Francisco Lindor – SS New York Mets

It would appear that timing would be the only issue preventing Lindor from being ready for Opening Day. As mentioned here, he would need to get in some game action before being ready for the regular season. That would likely mean that if he cannot suit up for Grapefruit League action, he may start the season on the Injured List simply to play against Minor League competition. That said, with respect to his health, he seems locked and loaded with all of the boxes checked for a return to gameplay.

Tampa Bay Rays – Team Update

Three steps forward and two steps back for the Rays here. First, Chandler Simpson, Cedric Mullins, and Gavin Lux were all trending toward a return sooner rather than later, making today an important day for all three players. The most concerning of the three is Simpson, as his value is tied to his legs, and if he can’t run, there isn’t much else he can do. As for Yandy Diaz and Richie Palacios, both need additional time and are likely candidates to begin the season on the Injured List.

Ivan Herrera – DH St. Louis Cardinals

For context, this was also reported by Derrick Goold, but the site is paywalled. That said, this is good news for the Cardinals and for Herrera, as he is someone that the team wants to get into the lineup by any means necessary. He should get a ton of reps all over the field, including catcher, making him a valuable fantasy asset in 2026.

Josh Hader – RP Houston Astros

Today is a big day for Hader, as a bullpen session is a precursor to throwing a live bullpen session. If today’s session goes through without a hitch, chances are he’ll face live batters soon enough. That said, the team has said that they will not rush him, making Bryan Abreu someone worth rostering to begin the season.

Carlos Rodon – SP New York Yankees

Rodon threw 20 pitches and continues to be getting closer to making his debut on the mound in a game. He will begin the season on the Injured List, but the hope is that he can get into some Spring Training games before time runs out.

Anthony Volpe – SS New York Yankees

Volpe is making progress with his throwing, but his defensive drills won’t be where they should be until next month. Knowing that he’s about a month away from being able to dive on his shoulder, it demonstrates how fragile a state he must be in right now.

Lucas Erceg – RP Kansas City Royals

With Erceg returning from a shoulder impingement, and Carlos Estevez having reduced velocity to start this spring, a reminder that the Royals have Matt Straham on their team, and he could very well lead the team in saves should both of the aforementioned issues not get resolved soon enough.

Joey Wentz – SP Atlanta Braves

Wentz had a chance to make an impact on a struggling Braves team, but unfortunately, he will miss the entire 2026 season.
