2026 Athletics Top 20 Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings

With Nick Kurtz, Tyler Soderstrom, and Jacob Wilson all getting the call in the last two years, you might think the Athletics system is barren. While they may lack depth, there are still several impact prospects knocking on the MLB door. Below, we’ll list the top 20 Athletics prospects for those of you who need us to get right to the point. Further down the page, we’ll provide more depth on each player and give you an idea of their upside in terms of fantasy baseball.

About our rankings

These prospect rankings are strictly fantasy-focused. While they are performance-informed, our rankings also lean heavily on upside. A high-OBP slugger with game power and pedigree is going to rank higher than a speedy slap hitter with limited fantasy impact, even if the latter is closer to the majors. Likewise, you can usually grab a league-average pitcher from the waiver wire. Our rankings will value the pitchers with the upside to be No. 1 and 2 starters much more highly than command pitchers who look to be roster filler.

Athletics Prospects Breakdown

Leo De Vries (SS) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 19  |  Current Level: AA  |  Bats: S  | Throws: R

De Vries is one of the most advanced teenage hitters in the minors, combining above-average power with strong bat-to-ball skills. He’s already showing in-game pop with home run totals on the rise at Double-A, which, at his age, hints at big power to come.  His swing is smooth from both sides, and while he strikes out plenty (as most young hitters do), it’s not viewed as a major red flag because of his plate discipline and contact ability.

He’s a plus runner who can steal bases and create pressure.  Overall, you’re looking at a potential 25 HR / 20+ SB shortstop with manageable strikeout rates, which is rare for a player this young.

Jamie Arnold (LHP) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 22  |  Current Level: AA  |  Bats: L  | Throws: L

Arnold is a high-upside left-hander with a mid-to-upper 90s fastball and a wipeout slider, giving him legit swing-and-miss stuff.  His stuff+ profile is strong due to deception and angle. Scouts love the strikeout potential.

The big question for Arnold is developing consistent command. If he throws enough strikes, he projects as a frontline starter with high K rates. If not, he could still be a dominant high-leverage reliever.

Gage Jump (LHP) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 23  |  Current Level: AAA  |  Bats: L  | Throws: L

Jump is more polished than Arnold, with a deep three-pitch mix and strong strike-throwing ability.  His fastball isn’t elite velocity-wise, but his command and pitchability boost his “stuff+” effectiveness.
He’s already shown high strikeout totals in the minors (over 130 Ks in a season), pointing to strong MLB strikeout potential.  Ceiling is likely a No. 2/3 starter, with relatively high probability.

Tommy White (3B) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 23  |  Current Level: AAA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

White is a classic bat-first corner infielder with plus raw power—he can hit 25–30 HR annually if everything clicks.  His swing is geared for damage, but that comes with moderate strikeout risk, especially against better breaking stuff.
Speed is minimal—he’s not a base-stealing threat. His value comes almost entirely from power production.

Henry Bolte (OF) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 22  |  Current Level: AAA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Bolte is one of the most toolsy players in the system with plus power and near-elite speed.  He’s already shown 40+ steal ability, and the raw power is still developing into game power.
The issue is a significant amount of swing-and-miss—his strikeout rate is a real concern and could limit his ceiling.  If he improves contact, he has star upside (power-speed combo). If not, he’s more volatile.

Joshua Kuroda-Grauer (SS) – MLB ETA: 2027

Age: 23  |  Current Level: AA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Kuroda-Grauer is more of a contact-oriented hitter than a power bat. He has gap power but not big home run upside right now. His approach keeps strikeouts relatively in check.
Speed is solid but not elite—think average runner with good instincts. Profile leans toward a high-contact middle infielder rather than a fantasy-impact bat.

Johenssy Colome (SS) – MLB ETA: 2031

Age: 17  |  Current Level: ROK  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Colome is a high-upside international signee with projectable power and strong athleticism.  Early reports highlight above-average raw power potential for a shortstop.
Because of his age, strikeouts are expected early, but not considered a long-term concern yet. Speed is also a positive—he could develop into a power-speed middle infielder.

Wei-En Lin (LHP) – MLB ETA: 2027

Age: 22  |  Current Level: AA  |  Bats: L  | Throws: L

Lin is a polished lefty with advanced feel and a strong pitch mix. He doesn’t rely purely on velocity but gets results through command and sequencing.
His strikeout upside is solid but not elite—more of a high-floor mid-rotation starter than a dominant ace. His “stuff+” plays up because of deception and consistency.

Devin Taylor (OF) – MLB ETA: 2028

Age: 20  |  Current Level: A+  |  Bats: L  | Throws: R

Taylor profiles as a balanced offensive player with moderate power and solid contact skills. He’s not a huge strikeout guy compared to others in the system.
Speed is average—he’s not a major stolen base threat. Think 15–20 HR potential with decent OBP, but not a standout in power-speed categories.

Henry Baez (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 23  |  Current Level: AA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Baez has intriguing raw stuff, but is harder to project due to injuries. When healthy, he shows mid-rotation upside with strikeout ability, but consistency is still a question.
His “stuff+” is tied to velocity and movement, but command and durability will determine his MLB role.

Braden Nett (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 23  |  Current Level: AAA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Nett is a high-velocity arm, touching the upper 90s, with a deep arsenal that generates swings and misses.
Strikeout upside is high, but so is volatility due to control issues and durability concerns. He could be a No. 2 starter if it clicks—or a bullpen arm if not.

Shotaro Morii (SS/RHP) – MLB ETA: 2029

Age: 19  |  Current Level: ROK  |  Bats: L  | Throws: R

Morii is a unique two-way type with strong athleticism. As a hitter, he shows developing power and speed, though both are still raw.
Strikeouts could be an issue early because of aggressiveness. Overall, he’s more projection than finished product right now.

Edgar Montero (SS) – MLB ETA: 2030

Age: 19  |  Current Level: A  |  Bats: S  | Throws: R

Montero is more of a contact/defense-first infielder. Power is limited, and speed is average.
He doesn’t have major strikeout concerns because his approach is contact-driven, but his fantasy upside is relatively modest.

Cameron Leary (OF) – MLB ETA: 2028

Age: 24  |  Current Level: AA  |  Bats: L  | Throws: L

Leary brings speed as his standout tool, with the ability to steal bases and cover ground in the outfield. His power is limited, and his offensive value depends on contact. Strikeouts can creep up if he expands the zone.

Cole Miller (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2029

Age: 21  |  Current Level: A  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Miller is an early-stage pitching prospect with projectable stuff. His velocity and arsenal suggest future strikeout ability, but he’s still developing.
“Stuff+” is more projection-based right now—he’s a long-term upside play.

Kade Morris (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 23  |  Current Level: AAA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Morris is a rising arm with good strikeout numbers and improving command. He’s already putting together strong outings in the upper minors. His “stuff+” isn’t elite, but plays well due to command. He projects as a solid mid-rotation starter with reliable K production.

Gunnar Hoglund (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 26  |  Current Level: MLB  |  Bats: L  | Throws: R

Hoglund is a polished pitcher with excellent command and a deep arsenal. His strikeout upside is moderate—not overpowering, but efficient. He projects as a high-floor starter (No. 3/4) rather than a high-strikeout ace.

Junior Perez (OF) – MLB ETA: 2026

Age: 24  |  Current Level: AAA  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Perez has intriguing athleticism with speed and some developing power, but he’s still raw.
Strikeouts can be an issue due to approach, making him more of a projection-based upside play than a finished hitter.

Steven Echavarria (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2027

Age: 20  |  Current Level: A+  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Echavarria has a solid arsenal with strikeout ability in the minors, but like many young arms, command consistency is key.
He profiles as a potential mid-rotation arm or bullpen piece depending on how his control develops.

Gavin Turley (OF) – MLB ETA: 2028

Age: 22  |  Current Level: A  |  Bats: R  | Throws: R

Turley is a power-focused outfielder with above-average raw pop and the ability to drive the ball.
Speed is not a major part of his game. Strikeouts are something to watch—his profile leans toward power-over-contact, which could lead to swing-and-miss at higher levels.
