We’ve officially passed the quarter-way mark of the season. It’s usually around this time when contenders starts to separate from pretenders in both with real baseball teams and fantasy leagues. The same can be said about starting pitchers. It’s now safe to say the Cam Schlittler breakout is real. Conversely, Angels pitcher Jose Soriano has started to regress to his career norm as matchup-dependent pitchers. I pay close attention to these trends and decipher what’s sustainable on a week-to-week basis. That’s why the weekly starting pitcher rankings focuses heavily on their ability to safely deliver on expectations in their start confidence rankings.
